Area attractions within walking distance of the property include hiking, mountain biking, dirt biking/ATV trails, swimming, tubing, horse-back riding, gold panning, geocaching and more, not to mention the variety of fun and delicious offerings in town itself. You can hike your own gear up the hill, or, better yet, I can deliver your gear, firewood and potable water directly to your remote and private site via ATV, so all you have to do is enjoy the leisurely hike in from the national forest trail you like best. We will do all the heavy work, so you can just enjoy the experience, including spectacular views from the top of our ridge. Also, volunteers helping us with fire recovery and prevention work for the day can always stay for free that night.

We are located one hour from the Mount Lassen Volcanic National Park, and minutes from swimming holes, lakes, and a million acres of National Forest- or simply stay at the property and enjoy the on-site hiking trails, free loaner bikes, treehouse, zip line, and kid's ninja warrior course. Unfortunately, for the safety of local wildlife, and the sustainability of our accommodations, we no longer permit pets at either site. During your stay, you may hear the sounds of Greenville as the town rebuilds (1.5 miles away) and you may incur brief driving delays on your way here. Lake Concow Campground

In recent history, a multi-cultural group of community members formed the Konkow Partnership to attempt to hold, steward, and preserve the wilderness that survives here. Visit, fish, or camp in a rare jewel forest, hidden in the Sierra/Cascade foothills, less than an hour's drive to Chico, Oroville, or Paradise. Surviving forests of mature cedars, pines, oaks, and madrones provide shady camping, fishing along the lake shore, or picnicing along the banks of the creek that runs through a recovering creekside area. Stargaze or fly kites in our Great Meadow or admire copious wildflowers and other native plants on over 80 acres of wilderness. We provide a variety of recovering wilderness areas near water faucets, pit toilets and an RV dump station. Our site features mature forests, grassy meadows, a year-round creek in a fire recovery zone. The site also features lakefront shoreline access for bank fishing, a central fire pit and lots of space for group camping. Fires are permitted in the central pit when weather allows. The Lake Concow/Konkow Campground is a wilderness sanctuary and houses many variety of rare and endangered plants, animals, and insects. Please be aware of and give respectful space to all of the residents of the park. The list of year round residents may include poison oak, thorny berry vines, mosquitoes, ticks, spiders, deer, eagles, osprey, owls, squirrels, skunks, foxes, bears, mountain lions, snakes, bats, and more. Please be responsible for personal camp supplies and trash. The Campground is a Pack In/Pack Out location and garbage cans are supplied near the office house near the entrance. Good hiking shoes, protective clothing, and hats are recommended. All Campground faucets supply delicious, potable water tested regularly. The modern listings spell the name Concow, Ancestors spelled it Konkow. Both are correct, though may give different search results. There is plenty of room for parking large vehicles and for turning around. TOW VEHICLES MUST STAY THE DURATION OF THE CAMPING VISIT. Sorry, we DO NOT allow towed-in-and-dropped-off campers or 5th wheel trailers at this time. This may change as clean up work progresses through the year. Stay tuned for updates. Thank you.

Coppercreek Camp

Coppercreek Camp is located in Plumas County 10 minutes from Lake Almanor, the Feather River, and Round Valley Lake. We are an hour from Lassen National Park. Please note: The Dixie fire burned our town of Greenville and through our property in August 2021. There is ongoing repair work in the local area, a lot of burned forest, but still many beautiful sites to see. Much of our property burned, but we still have a little slice of green heaven. Please come and support our special town as we rebuild! Picnic by our ponds, play in our sandpit volleyball court, relax in a hammock, watch your kids put on a show at our amphitheater, and watch the sunset over Keddie Peak. The frogs and crickets will sing you to sleep. Our bunk cabins are rustic with electricity, windows and doors, and each cabin has different bed accommodations. Please bring all of your own bedding and sleeping bags. May through October there is a bath and shower house with hot water and flush toilets. Propane fire pits are available for rent. The winters are cold and snowy, spring and fall are ideal with warm sunny days and cool, crisp nights, and the summer has warm evenings and hot days. There is plenty of shade with large pine, cedar and oak trees and pen sunny space in the meadow. Coppercreek Camp is your perfect mountain getaway for the whole family!

TURNER BEACH AT LAKE ALMANOR

Turner Beach At Lake Almanor is a privately owned vacant lakefront lot. The property is wide enough to accommodate 3 RV's end to end, ensuring no blocked views of the lake. You will be camping along Lake Almanor's East Shore on your own private campground instead of "combat camping" in the popular public campgrounds nearby. Additionally, the property can accommodate numerous smaller vans and tents. We have 2 mooring buoys and a large dock. There is a sani-hut potty which is maintained/cleaned weekly. The property is located between the lake and the highway, so there will be road noise. Some guests have been bothered by the traffic and some have not. We have 2 SUP boards, a kayak, and a canoe as well as a 5-person pedal boat that can be borrowed while renting our beach. Doing so will be at your own risk and you are required to wear personal floatation devices (lifejackets). Lifejackets are not provided, so you will need to bring your own. We ask that you please respect our toys and take care not to damage them or lose any parts/pieces. All renters must take their own trash with them when they depart. No Fireworks, No firearms, No drugs allowed. Dogs are allowed and we do have a 10 x 10 x 6 kennel onsite. Campers are responsible for minding their pet's safety, politeness, and picking up their poo-poo's. Marshmallow roasting/cooking fires must be kept small and are only allowed in the provided fire ring. There is some small firewood onsite, and if you need more you can purchase nearby at Almanor Landscape Supply or bring your own. The early mornings are tranquil, and the sunsets are STUNNING! Welcome to Windsong Ridge, an evolving homestead on 25 acres of oak, pine, and manzanita woodland about 30 minutes outside of the historic gold rush towns of Grass Valley and Nevada City in Nevada County, CA. In less than two hours, you can visit Truckee, Lake Tahoe, or the Sierra Buttes/Lakes Basin areas and much more. In town you will find a variety excellent restaurants, farmers markets, live entertainment and wildly popular events throughout the year. We’ll be happy to help you plan your visit! Stargaze or fly kites in our Great Meadow or admire copious wildflowers and other native plants on over 80 acres of wilderness. We provide a variety of recovering wilderness areas near water faucets, pit toilets and an RV dump station. Our site features mature forests, grassy meadows, a year-round creek in a fire recovery zone. The site also features lakefront shoreline access for bank fishing, a central fire pit and lots of space for group camping. Fires are permitted in the central pit when weather allows. The Lake Concow/Konkow Campground is a wilderness sanctuary and houses many variety of rare and endangered plants, animals, and insects. Please be aware of and give respectful space to all of the residents of the park. The list of year round residents may include poison oak, thorny berry vines, mosquitoes, ticks, spiders, deer, eagles, osprey, owls, squirrels, skunks, foxes, bears, mountain lions, snakes, bats, and more. Please be responsible for personal camp supplies and trash. The Campground is a Pack In/Pack Out location and garbage cans are supplied near the office house near the entrance. Good hiking shoes, protective clothing, and hats are recommended. All Campground faucets supply delicious, potable water tested regularly. The modern listings spell the name Concow, Ancestors spelled it Konkow. Both are correct, though may give different search results. There is plenty of room for parking large vehicles and for turning around. TOW VEHICLES MUST STAY THE DURATION OF THE CAMPING VISIT. Camping near Quincy guide

Overview

Nestled in the High Sierras of Northern California and the county seat of Plumas County, Quincy is a charming mountain town full of artsy vibes, a historic Main Street, and easy access to all sorts of outdoor recreation, with several national forests and dozens of lakes within easy reach Hiking, mountain biking, fishing, boating, and paddling are all popular activities, along with snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and snowmobiling in the winter. Plenty of camping options can be found in and around Quincy, from RV parks and rustic cabins to developed and dispersed lakeside and forest service campgrounds.

Where to go

Quincy Area

Private campgrounds and RV parks offer the closest camping options to Quincy, though just outside of town several Plumas National Forest campgrounds can be found, including Spanish Creek Campground, Hallstead Campground, and Snake Lake Campground. Head to Bucks Lake for excellent trout fishing, water sports (including sailboarding), and several developed and primitive campgrounds around the lake and along Bucks Creek.

Plumas and Tahoe National Forests

The Plumas National Forest offers plenty of recreation and camping options, including near lakes. Options include Lake Davis, Frenchman’s Lake, and the Lakes Basin Recreation Area near Graeagle. Further south, the Tahoe National Forest offer numerous campgrounds, many of which are situated alongside creeks, rivers, and lakes. The north and western shores of Lake Tahoe are also within two hours of Quincy.

Lake Almanor and Lassen

Northwest of Quincy is Lake Almanor, a water recreation paradise and one of the largest man-made lakes in California. Numerous camping options can be found around the 52 square mile lake, including private campgrounds, RV parks, forest service campgrounds run by the Lassen National Forest, and PG&E-run campgrounds. Further northwest is the Lassen Volcanic National Park, where you can find every type of volcanic dome, and eight developed and primitive campgrounds.

When to go

Summer is the most popular time for camping and outdoor recreation, especially water related activities, around Quincy. The popular High Sierra Music Festival is held in Quincy in July while the Plumas-Sierra County Fair is held in August. Spring and fall also offer ideal weather to be outside, while leaf peeping is a popular fall activity. Fishing is usually permitted in area lakes year-round and in the streams from April to November. Most campgrounds are open seasonally.
