Faded Flannel Farm

20km from Bear Creek Provincial Park · 2 sites · Tents, RVs · Kelowna, BC
We have a 6 acre farm in the hills of Joe Rich. It’s a beautiful combination of open meadow and mature forest, with a seasonal creek and pond. The property is full of many varieties of native plants, flowers and trees. Above the trees you can see the peaks of Little White. We also get wild animals that come to visit every now and then; bear, cougar, lynx, coyote, deer and owl to name a few. There is a communal firepit and kitchen area, central between our current campsite and other future campsites. You can enjoy hiking on the High Rim Trail nearby or maybe an off road adventure. James Lake is only 11 kms away for some summer kayaking or paddle boarding and Big White is only 1/2 hour away hosting all the summer and winter fun!. Lots of beautiful areas to explore nearby. Our location tends to be 6°-10° cooler than in Kelowna, which is a welcome treat on those warm summer days. There is also, almost always a breeze. We hope you enjoy your stay but if there’s some way we can make your stay better, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate.

Back Forty Vineyards

(354)
25km from Bear Creek Provincial Park · 3 sites · Tents, RVs, Lodging · Peachland, BC
Come camp on a 40-acre parcel backing onto crown land mountains and wake up in front of 10 acres of vineyard and a view of Okanagan Lake! There is a small cabin and two camp sites to choose from. Site 1 is best suited for tents and small campervans, less than 18' or so (though people with small trailers like tear drop campers have been fine). Site 2 has a much larger flat area that can hold RVs up to 30'. Cabin available for those that want to sleep in a cozy bed and have a warm fire :) Outhouse on the property, which is just a pit toilet. It is a working farm so will likely have various equipment around at times as well as workers at certain times of the year. You’ll likely meet our very friendly and very energetic Bernedoodle, Bernie. If you prefer to keep him out of your campsite just let us know and we can keep him closer. Otherwise, he thinks he has the run of the place! Please check to see if campfires are allowed (live in a high-risk fire zone) and firewood is available with an extra charge. If you need anything to better enjoy your stay, just let us know! Our property is located in Peachland, BC. Positioned midway between Kelowna and Pentiction, it is the perfect location to draw from both population centres and is well-positioned to act as a hub for popular wine and other agri-tourism activities. Peachland is within easy reach of over 200 estate wineries and microbreweries.

Cuddly Cat Farms

45km from Bear Creek Provincial Park · 10 sites · Tents, RVs · Vernon, BC
Welcome to Cuddly Cat Farms. This property is our dream come true. Located 5 min from the city of Vernon you have fantastic views of our beautiful valley and are surrounded by Apple Orchards. We were the first people to live on this land and have built everything you see since 2017. When we arrived there were no trees on the property and we have planted some in the campsites which are quite small but will one day be large and mighty. Enjoy 20 beautiful acres just 5 minutes out of Vernon. Close proximity to Kal Lake, Swan Lake and Lake Okanagan. Fantastic hiking trails, biking trails, and watersports close by. We currently have 7 dispersed sites. These sites are set up in a ring, each with their own fire pit when there is no fire ban. There are washrooms and showers at our shop just a little hike from the sites. The water is well water and quite soft, but it is potable. The skinny taps in the washrooms do have filtered water There is potable water for washing dishes ( warm and cold) at the taps on the outside of the shop - near the entrance door for the washrooms. We live on the property as well, up on the hill. We want everyone to have a wonderful experience but do also want you to have your privacy. We venture down to the sites periodically to check but do try to stay out of the way. We look forward to hosting you!

The best camping in Bear Creek Provincial Park, BC guide

Overview

About

Family-oriented Bear Creek Provincial Park has fun for everyone with lakeside and creekside camping spots, plus over 400 metres of waterfront, a playground, and kilometers of well-marked hiking trails. Set on the west side of Okanagan Lake, the park is popular for water activities and features an open forest landscape with big ponderosa pines, Douglas fir trees, and prickly pear cactus growing, much of which can be seen from the single Bear Creek campground.

Notable campgrounds

  • Best for families: Sites 81 to 122 come with the use of a dedicated shower and washroom.
  • Best for RVs: Many of the sites between 130 and 141 are pull-through and paved with 50-amp electrical service. It's best for people who love nature but don’t want to be too far out of their comfort zones.
  • Best for big groups: Sites 1 through 80 are well-sized and fairly spaced out.

Tips for snagging a campsite

  1. 1. Campsite reservations are required for all campsites and can be made four months in advance by phone or via BC Parks’ Discover Camping website.
  2. First-come, first-served options are available until May 15 and again after October 15, but it’s best to book in advance to secure a spot.
  3. The primary camping season runs from late March to mid-October, with reservable dates varying by the campsite.

When to go

Go in the summer months to soak up some sun along the vast beaches, but be prepared for crowds. Fall and early spring are quieter times, and the park closes down for winter.

Know before you go

  • Pets are allowed in the park so long as they’re leashed at all times.
  • The park is generally accessible to wheelchair users, with roads that are paved and mostly level. Campground showers and bathrooms are wheelchair-accessible.
  • Keep in mind that the park’s entrance gates are locked nightly from 11pm to 7am.
