Flannel Dog Farm
3 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents7 acres · Ashtabula, OHBuilt in 1860, our brick farmhouse is an area icon, and we are so very fortunate to have our small farm on this beautiful property. Less than a mile from Lake Erie, we have seven idyllic acres where we grow our own vegetables and fruits, raise chickens and ducks, and make sourdough bread, beer, wine, and art from Copper Leaf Studios (onsite!). We are a monarch waystation and have several acres dedicated to pollinators, native plants and trees, and all of the happy insects, birds, and animals that come along with them. We are advocates of inclusion, local community, and sustainable living. We love telling and hearing good stories. We believe in the powers of kindness and peace. We hope to share our part of the world with others. We are very happy to offer a place where your pup(s) can spend time off leash and enjoy some rest and relaxation with you! We have firewood onsite for HipCamper use and if you'd like breakfast, we are happy to make you a homemade breakfast that will almost always include food grown/raised on our farm and/or locally for a reasonable cost. We have a composting toilet outhouse as well as a half-bath with a flushable toilet. Much like our farm's name, our place is warm, welcoming, rustic, and a bit gritty.

River Hills Above the Allegheny
5 sites · RVs, Tents75 acres · Parker, PAThis property is 1hr 15min from Pittsburgh. Our approach is to have a small number of campsites over a large area (4 sites on 75 acres) to maintain privacy and keep that “middle of the woods” feeling. This property sits high in the river hills above the mighty Allegheny with stunning views, soaring eagles, and wildlife living in its natural setting. There is even a waterfall with a natural pool to enjoy. This property is undeveloped with no homes on it. It is private, and posted. It is a place you can feel safe and secure. Sites are limited to 4 adults max (kids don’t count against the 4). With no electricity or running water, it is free of the constant presence of random people that you find in state parks. This is a truly great place to disconnect, discover new places, and forget the outside world. Within a 10 minute drive of your campsite you can find The North Country Trail, Rails to Trails Trailheads and Boat Launches on the Allegheny River. This is camping at its best!! The reviews do not lie!!

Neal Homestead Camp
5 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents50 acres · Brookville, PAThe stone cabin is my grandfather's homestead foundation. There was a two story house on it. He remembers his mother scrubbing the board walk to the outhouse every Saturday until the boards were white. Now the composting toilet is inside the cabin. Cornerstones of the old barn is in the field above the cabin. The soil is very rocky and Grandpa said they " lived on elderberries and groundhog". There is 50 acres with a pink marked trail to Red Bank Creek and back up through a hemlock forest. A small stream runs through the property and forms a rocky delta in Red Bank Creek. I love the rocks on the property huge and small. Hike, enjoy the sound of the stream tickling through property, stargaze, or rest and relaxation in a hammock. There is one along the little stream and one at Outdoor Adventure Camp Site.

Sawdust FarmCamp
3 sites · Lodging400 acres · Geneva, OHNaturalist Isabelle H. Klein wrote a collection of letters from her home of Sawdust (named form the sawdust left by the loggers of the early 60’s) for the Cleveland Museum of Natural History’s Explorer Magazine from the winter of 1969 to the summer of 1976. They then were published as the book “Letters From Sawdust” by the Press of Case Western Reserve University for the Museum. It is a lyrical voyage through the seasons at the Sawdust Tract in Northeast Ohio. She details encounters with the wildlife of the area as well as the changing seasons and plant life. Reminiscent of Thoreau's writings about Walden. In 1978 an additional house was moved onto the property from Sidley's gravel pit and joined with the existing Klein farmhouse. We decided to preserve almost 400 acres of the property with the help of the Western Reserve Land Conservatory for the Cleveland Museum Of Natural History, Natural Areas. Forest is home to the red-sided dace, and 10 rare species of birds, including cerulean warblers. The original small family farm and surrounding woods, that we have retained, are being restored and updated. Renovations of the two houses are almost complete. We are proud to call Sawdust home and would love to share it with you.

Towner's Country Paradise
4 sites · Lodging, Tents500 acres · Addison, NYTowner's Country Paradise started out as a wild forest and pasture for cows in the 1940's, owned by Llewellyn Towner. In the 1960s, Llewellyn's love for aviation led him to construct a small airstrip and hangar, and then his son Terry began to plant Christmas Trees (no more cows) and clear much of the land. By the early 1970's our main and largest pond was built and since that time our fully functional cabin, several more fish ponds, roads, trails, running water and generated electricity have been added. Christmas Trees are still grown and harvested by Terry's son Scott Towner. Green rolling hills, deep valleys, a waterfall, ponds stocked with fish, a fully functional cabin, herds of deer, flocks of turkey and Canada Geese, & well-maintained roads and trails here in Addison NY. It's so private that even most of the people who live in our small town don't know we're here! CHECK OUR REVIEWS!OPTION to camp/hike in the woods for a more wild experience. NEARBY: restaurants including Chinese, Subway, pizza/wings, & several excellent diners offering take out or eat-in. ALSO: Dollar General, Wal-Mart (15 min away), Dunkin Donuts (5 min away), & gas stations.Your jaw will *drop* when you see Towner's Country Paradise for the first time!
