Please contact me to discuss length of time and cost. Our 360 acres is located in Paisley Ontario in the Township of Bruce. We have 5 multi-acre sites for Boondock camping that offer beautiful breezes off of Lake Huron and quiet private pastoral settings. Each site is groomed and offers a fire pit. You can bring up to 7 trailers into each site for a multi-trailer experience. We have approx 15 km of groomed trails to hike, trail run, walk all through Bruce County. We are close to numerous quaint Ontario towns and villages offering shops, bakeries, restaurants and more. The Saugeen River is located very close to the properties and you can rent kayaks in Paisley and go down the river towards Lake Huron. Lake Huron is a pristine great lake and we offer great beaches within 20 minute drive... Our settings are perfect for small or large gatherings and are private and secluded. Unfortunately we do not offer water, septic or hydro so your trailer needs to be self sustaining. TRAILERS and MOTORHOMES are the preferred method of camping. It is being used for Boondocking, weddings, mediation and yoga retreats and we look forward to hosting you also soon. We are pet friendly...so bring your four legged family members too!

Only a 2-minute walk to the beach, small neighbourhood park, boat launch and fishing. Three bedroom cottage wtih bunk room that's great for kids and two full bathrooms (one just renovated!) Open concept living room, great to cozy up and watch a movie. Fully equiped kitchen with everything you need to cook for a family, and a dining room or deck with table for meals. A river runs through this 120 acre wooded property with abundant wildlife featuring two very large spring fed ponds. Plenty of fishing, swimming, hiking and biking trails. Amazing property to get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. Awesome sunrises and sunsets. Listen to the frogs and the crickets while watching the fireflies dance around. We provide bedding, towels, soap, shampoo, pots, pans, kettle, cutlery, tabletop barbecue, a cooking grill, utensils, mugs, cups, drinking water and more. There is an outdoor shower available at each site. We provide enough wood for the first campfire. After that, it's $7 a bundle. All you need to bring is your food, drinks, cooler and maybe a flashlight. The camp fire will be ready and waiting for you to enjoy under a sky full of stars. Included in your stay is access to the barn games room which features air hockey, darts, music and more. There is a horse shoe pit set up just outside the barn. Our property is conveniently located to easily access all the amazing activities and sights this area has to offer. There are four acres of woods to explore right beside Townsend Lake, a small, quiet lake perfect for canoeing, kayaking, and paddle boarding. The lake warms up quickly in the spring and is great to swim in. There is a cabin to sleep in and many camping items are provided, like a Coleman stove, tables, dishes, and a screen shelter. You will have access to the dock and a large fire pit area which are part of the owner’s cottage on the property. There will be a port-a-potty on site. Lake Townsend is close to several conservation areas and 12 minutes to the quaint town of Markdale with several shops, a bakery, and a large grocery store. The city of Owen Sound is 35 minutes away. Harrison Park and Inglis Falls are huge attractions in the area. Each area has its own beauty and the hiking path between the two is quite spectacular. Parts of the famous hiking trail, The Bruce Trail, are also easily accessible from Townsend Lake. But once you get settled in, you may just want to rest and relax at the lake! It has its own beauty and serenity and is home to many bird species and other wildlife. Cedar Acres is the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy nature.

Weekend Trip to R&R Back Road Country Retreat

Renee & Randy your property is beautiful. We loved walking all your trails with our dogs. The thought you both put in to the little details like the dog library was so cute. The sunsets were gorgeous and we loved sitting on the floating dock every morning to drink our coffee. If anyone is looking for a get away weekend to disconnect this is the place to go!

The best place to end our camping for the summer, peaceful and quiet it was raining and cold but we still had a great time, we manage to canoe even windy, rode the bike and kayak the day we left, the bunkie its so cute and clean plus a welcome treat from the great host Margaret. Highly recommend , definitely we going back.

Weekend Trip to R&R Back Road Country Retreat

My partner and I took a long weekend and stayed at the cedar creek cabin site. Upon arrival we met with both randy and Renee, they welcomed us and showed us the way via atv. (We followed in our car) they led us through a river (only ankle drop at that spot) and over a smaller creek which our car had no issues doing. Upon entering our site, we were astounded at how large of an area our campsite was! It was huge! And everything was provided for us except our food, and extra firewood which we were able to buy as we needed. There were many trails we could explore, and along the main road, there were places you could leave your name, and a dog library (take a stick, leave a stick) We brought our almost 11 year old lab who loved every moment of it! We also brought our bird, who also loved being in a new location. The property is huge, the other campers were very friendly, and I have no complaints! The weather was cold at night, but we were told ahead of time to bring extra blankets which we did! The extra care that is put into this by randy and Renee, is outstanding! I totally recommend you to this place.

Beautiful location. We enjoyed staying at Lana's cottage. Close to a beach access and some beautiful provincial parks. Enjoyed that everything we needed was there. Loved the fires in the back yard. Great place to make special memories with our friends and family!

Weekend Trip to Cedar Acres

My partner and I really enjoyed our stay in the main cabin. We were able to use the kayaks to explore the lake, we built a nice fire, cooked on the outdoor grill, stargazed and went birding on the property. It was very serene. Margaret was very kind and welcoming as well. We highly reccomend this rental.

We stayed for one night and really enjoyed our time. The place was peaceful and well set up. Even though Margaret was away, everything we needed was provided. We had fun cycling, kayaking, and making s’mores by the fire. Overall, it was a wonderful and fun stay!

Great spot for a short getaway. The lake is peaceful and perfect for kayaking, being able to utilize the neighbour's floating dock in the middle of the lake was a nice bonus as it was perfect for swimming and relaxing in the heat of the day. For any hikers, the Bruce trail is only about 20 minutes away. Would recommend Hoggs Falls conservation area as an access point, which also has lots of shorter looped hike options and is a nice little side trip. Plenty of firewood provided and the port-a-potty is the deluxe model.

We were fortunate to have Margaret’s property all to ourselves and loved the serene quiet of Townsend lake! From other reviews, sounds like Margaret is lovely host when on the property, which we didn’t experience first hand. It’s in an ideal location, close to charming towns and beautiful nature. And the lake was perfect for kayaking, there’s even a dock you can boat to for swimming! Margaret provided everything you’d need very thoughtfully. Just keep in mind, there’s no running water or electricity so pack smart!

R&R was such a restful time ☺️ the pond is crystal clear, it was like looking into a whole other world as a rowed across the water. The bunkie is secure, clean and slightly bigger than I expected. Renee & Randy we're wonderful hosts and extremely happy to assist if needed! There wasn't any reception for me and the river crossing is something to inquire about if your vehicle is low riding. I can definitely see myself visiting again ☺️

Margaret was a warm and friendly host. She helped us before we came, answered all our questions, and stayed helpful even after we arrived. The bunkie was cozy and easy to sleep in. They offered fun games both indoors and outdoors. There was lots of firewood, so we could enjoy a bonfire at night. This is a lovely place—quiet, welcoming, and full of good things. We hope to visit again soon!

4 nights at R&R Back Road Country Retreat

I enjoyed my stay at Sunset Pond. Very private, quiet and relaxing. Sophie and I enjoyed walks on the trails daily and taking dips in the pond. This would be a wonderful site in the fall as I prefer cooler weather and unfortunately stayed this time in a cooker of a heat wave. I will look at coming back for a couple of days then. I also didn't notice until later that the balloons said Happy Birthday. I appreciate the thought Renee and Randy!

We absolutely loved the cabin! This place is a hidden gem with so much to offer—kayaking, canoeing, cycling, tubing, indoor games, books, and more. They’ve thoughtfully provided all the cooking equipment along with propane, making it super convenient. The property is well-maintained and very organized, and even the portable washroom was impressively clean. Margaret was incredibly kind and well-spoken—truly a wonderful host. Can’t wait to return!

Weekend Trip to Cozy Lake Huron Cottage

Our 3 night stay at the cottage was very peaceful and relaxing, just what we needed. Our adult children and their spouses also joined us to make it a special birthday for their mother. Our dogs also got to enjoy the walks and outdoors. The water was low, so we only walked there once, but very wonderful Lake Huron sunsets. Twenty 20 minute drive to Kincardine to enjoy a dip in the water. Lana’s Cottage had everything we needed just bring your food, drinks and enjoy. Thank you for sharing your cottage with us.
