Very close to all the great stuff available at this part of Bruce peninsula. We share our backyard with our guests, we are very close to everything that Bruce county has to offer, port Elgin, Southampton, golf courses, different accesses to saugeen river where u can go fishing canoeing, tubing etc., supermarkets, native reserve, sauble beach and dozens of other ones…all at max 15 minutes distance… in the property you will find everything u need for a peaceful stay, hard to describe everything you will find but u can read our reviews, some of them have beautiful descriptions of what is here for you, you must love animals, since we have our pets all around, u are also super welcome to bring yours. One of the high points of here is the interaction u will have with the pets, they are all super friendly and will play with u every time they see u, they believe u r here for them, between, dogs, cats, birds, rabbits etc they will be part of your stay, this is theyr home, u r theyr guests, that’s how they think, so u must be a pet lover. For the canine: please bring your bedding, there’s a few pillows and bed covers but bring your personal bedding, queen size…Looking forward to meet you.

We are fortunate to call this ecologically diverse and extremely private piece of land home, and we are excited to welcome you here to explore the magic for yourself.
Our 50 acre parcel would have comprised much of the maple bush for the original 400 acre farm property. The stone fence rows and laneways lined with large boulders are remnants from the days or horse drawn carriages, likely put in place hundreds of years ago. In addition to the maple bush there are several acres of cedar bush, open wild flower meadows, as well as fields dotted with larger shade-giving trees.
A small half acre of the property is used to farm fresh cut flowers which you are welcome to visit. We also have a kitchen garden, 10 egg-laying hens, 2 very friendly outdoor cats, and our black lab Abby who will likely greet you with a bark (she is very friendly).
In the summer months you can enjoy a handful of lakes for swimming and boating all within 10-15 minutes of our property. We are happy to share details and locations.
We are conveniently located just off of Highway 10, ten minutes north of Markdale and 25 minutes south of Owen Sound. If you are headed north to Tobermory, we are a perfect mid way point if coming from Toronto, with Tobermory just an hour and a half north of us.

Learn more about this land:This comfortable and spacious yurt is located on the 30-acre property of the historic Paisley Mill along the Teeswater river. With three large windows, a dome skylight, and wool felt insulation, the yurt provides a wonderful "glamping" experience.
There is a double bed and a single bed in the yurt along with a cooler, table, chairs, and storage space. In the future there will be solar power, but right now the lighting available is by a battery powered lantern (provided). Next to the yurt is a picnic table, fire pit, and a sawdust toilet.
There are basic utensils, plates, bowls, pots and pans available in the yurt.

You will love visiting nearby MacGregor Point and Inverhuron Provincial Park with their beautiful walking trails and beaches.

Tucked away beneath the trees in the heart of Grey-Bruce, Raven Hollow is a little place to disappear from the ordinary for a while.
Follow the path into our 50-acre wood, where winding trails disappear beneath the pines, ravens call overhead, and a little frog pond waits to be discovered in the forest.
Days here are meant to move slowly. Wander the trails. Visit the pond. Listen for owls after dark. Watch the fire. Look for mushrooms and tiny forest treasures. Or do absolutely nothing at all.
Nestled among the trees is Camp Kyle, our tiny rustic cabin built for unplugging from the modern world without giving up the pleasure of climbing into a king-sized bed at the end of the day. Outside, you'll find a covered kitchen and dining area and a large open firepit for long evenings beneath the stars.
Raven Hollow is intentionally rustic. This isn't a resort tucked into the woods... the woods are the experience.
Expect wildlife, changing weather, dirt beneath your boots, dark skies, crackling fires and all the little sounds that come with sleeping in a forest.
And while Raven Hollow can feel wonderfully far away from everything, you aren't. Chesley is about 10 minutes away and Hanover about 20 minutes away for groceries, gas and other necessities. Beaches, trails and some of Grey-Bruce's loveliest places to explore are within easy day-trip distance.
Dogs are very welcome to join your adventure, but must remain leashed while exploring Raven Hollow.

Heavens Acres has been a stop over since the 1850's for people travelling by horse from Toronto to Owen Sound.
We have 100 acres surrounded by another 200 acres of conservation land.
There is camping in the pine forest as well at the very back of the property where you will find a hardwood bush with trails.
Please note that the hipcamp map shows a large body of water on the property, as does google driving maps.
It is a marsh, not a lake.
Google Earth shows it better.
There is however, a creek and pond, but don't bring your boat. :)
This is a "LEAVE NO TRACE" campsite, so please take all garbage when you leave.
There is no water or power, but there is an outhouse
Your furry friends are allowed for free but if you have extra people please pay for them.
You can adjust your booking if there are more people than originally requested.

There are four acres of woods to explore right beside Townsend Lake, a small, quiet lake perfect for canoeing, kayaking, and paddle boarding. The lake warms up quickly in the spring and is great to swim in. There is a cabin that sleeps three and a bunkie that sleeps two. A full barbecue with propane is provided. Many camping items are also available, like a Coleman stove, tables, and dishes. There is also a levelled off tent site with a private fire pit.
You will have access to the dock and a large fire pit area which are part of the owner’s cottage on the property. There will be a port-a-potty on site.
Lake Townsend is close to several conservation areas and 12 minutes to the quaint town of Markdale with several shops, a bakery, and a large grocery store.
The city of Owen Sound is 35 minutes away. Harrison Park and Inglis Falls are huge attractions in the area. Each area has its own beauty and the hiking path between the two is quite spectacular.
Parts of the famous hiking trail, The Bruce Trail, are also easily accessible from Townsend Lake.
But once you get settled in, you may just want to rest and relax at the lake! It has its own beauty and serenity and is home to many bird species and other wildlife.

The plane is cool! We slept in the bunkie (it rained all weekend) and the woodstove made it so cozy. There are lots of windows and there is a dining set in the bunkie, great for playing cards while it rained! The site is large, very private and quiet. Its fully treed and shaded with a fire pit and two picnic tables. There were also so camp fire cooking supplies (roasting sticks, grills). The nearby pit toilet has a little window in it and motion lights. Rick has created so many trails on the property as well, it was really lovely to wander around with my dog while she explored all the new smells. So many cool mushrooms, bugs and plants! Some of the low areas did get muddy and squishy with all the rain but that is to be expected.

We had such a great stay at this beautiful place. The cabin is very cozy. The dining area is lovely, the BBQ setup is awesome, and there are so many chairs and benches to sit and just relax. They thought of everything, coffee, small touches, all those details that make a stay easy and comfortable. The hosts were really caring and attentive, and it shows in every part of the place. We felt like there was always something to do: board games, outdoor activities, There is a nice lake just a minute away, perfect for canoeing and kayaking. We definitely recommend it.

I booked this cottage for my mom’s birthday and it was the perfect cozy getaway! The cottage was clean and had all that we needed. Lana was also quick to respond and very helpful during our stay. Overall we had a lovely time!

Weekend Trip to Heavens Acres
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at pine forest cabin! The cabin was clean, cozy and private. The grounds were clean and we enjoyed adventuring the trails around. We did hear some dogs barking, but our dog surprisingly didn’t mind it and we didn’t find it bothersome! Our dog enjoyed the freedom of being able to be off leash and even when on the trails we didn’t see any other people! We are looking forward to coming back soon! We did have a bit of a hard time getting to the location because the pin for directions didn’t bring us to the actual entrance but we figured it out. Overall an amazing site and location, we had a great weekend!

With pets
Brent was amazing! He greeted us with a warm welcome and made sure we had everything we needed. Despite the weather, we had a great time at the A camping site, especially with the canopy provided and the unlimited firewood. The trail was really great to experience, and the campsite itself was huge. They even gave us some free puffball mushrooms to try! The cabin was very clean, and we couldn’t have asked for more. We would definitely go back!

Weekend Trip to Tolkien Hideaway At Grey Havens
Very deep in the brush! But kind a fun drive to get to, stayed here for one night from the city just so we could go into town for our favourite dinner.
Cabin was cute, double bed comfy for 2 people 5’10 and under. Bring your own pillow if you like something thicker! Nice and quiet. Unfortunately didnt get to make a fire or enjoy the water since it was rainy

With kids
A highlight from our stay at Margaret's cabins were the kayaks! As the bottom of the lake near the dock wasn't great it was super nice to be able to row out and use the neighbour's dock in deeper water!
The solar lights in the cabins were really helpful and the outhouse was high end!! Also the solar fans with a charging option were neat! Thanks so much for giving us a chance to be on the lake for a bit.
