A piece of heaven is what awaits you here. If you're looking for privacy your search is over. Imagine having your own island you reach by walking across the 15 metre bridge with a few areas to set up your tent(s) from where you'll fall asleep listening to the sound of the spring flowing into the pond, what bliss. The other site has a large rectangular pond of its own to ensure everyone has privacy.
Your drinking water comes from Mother Nature, not a well, true spring water that's icy cold and so refreshing.. There are two spring fed ponds which makes them revitalizing on a hot day when you go for a swim.
We are located 10 minutes away from the town of Hanover and the Allan Park Conservation is right beside us and has numerous walking and off road bicycling trails. The Saugeen River is 5 minutes away which you can kayak or tube down, too much fun that is.
Our property offers beautiful scenery, virtual privacy, you see glimpses of our home, peace and tranquility with the backdrop of Mother Nature to be heard, geese, wild turkeys, deer, lots of songbirds, coyotes and oh yes, our big friendly lovable er
be spectaular and later the stars twinkle above and maybe you'll even see a satellite high above while you're stargazing.
Each site has a table (you'll need to bring lawn chairs), firepit with a cooking grill, and a supply of wood you'll have to purchase from us upon arrival, as we are a forestry managed property. An outhouse is a pleasant walk within minutes of the site. Water for dishes and general washing can just be taken from the pond (DO NOT DRINK) Not that it would kill you, lol. Ray will keep you supplied with fresh spring water for drinking.
New to this site is a solar powered string of 300 lights, two single person floats, and a hammock for your added enjoyment.
There are numerous things to do within a 15 minute drive. A couple dams, 2 conservation parks, drive-in theatre, casino, horse racing, small stock car racing track (great for young kids), two local breweries, a busy local butcher and the Saugeen River. With more destinations as you move outward.
We promise you won't be disappointed and can't wait to share our piece of Heaven with you.
TAKE NOTE You will be charged $500 per bag/item of refuse you leave behind. WE DO NOT HAVE GARBAGE PICKUP, besides which you are supposed to leave the site as you found it.
CANCELATIONS: IF you cancel within two weeks of your arrival date, your money will NOT be refunded nor will you be able to change the date. We are sorry for this, but we only have a short season, and you'll be using up double the time you booked for. Terry and Ray P.S. Our 360 acres is located in Paisley Ontario in the Township of Bruce. We have 5 multi-acre sites for Boondock camping that offer beautiful breezes off of Lake Huron and quiet private pastoral settings. Each site is groomed and offers a fire pit. You can bring up to 7 trailers into each site for a multi-trailer experience.
We have approx 15 km of groomed trails to hike, trail run, walk all through Bruce County. We are close to numerous quaint Ontario towns and villages offering shops, bakeries, restaurants and more.
The Saugeen River is located very close to the properties and you can rent kayaks in Paisley and go down the river towards Lake Huron.
Lake Huron is a pristine great lake and we offer great beaches within 20 minute drive...
Our settings are perfect for small or large gatherings and are private and secluded.
Unfortunately we do not offer water, septic or hydro so your trailer needs to be self sustaining.
TRAILERS and MOTORHOMES are the preferred method of camping.
It is being used for Boondocking, weddings, mediation and yoga retreats and we look forward to hosting you also soon.

3 nights at Chapelwood Chalet
Amazing experience. Me and my partner stayed for three days in early September and it was such a cozy and comfortable stay. Is clean private and perfect for people that love the outdoors. Indoor wood fire was a great way to stay warm and made for amazing ambiance. Jake made the experience super easy and I would go back in a heartbeat.

This place is a hidden gem! An off grid cabin with all of the comforts of home. Jake has thought of everything, hot water shower, wood burning stove, water coming from the tap, what more could you ask for! You even get lights at night. Can’t wait to go back!

Certainly a hidden gem with great hosts to boot!
Our two Golden Retrievers had a blast playing in the water and running all around the huge site.
The site is secluded and would easily accommodate a huge group of people.
We recommend this property for camping to anyone looking for a private, peaceful, and fun camping adventure.

Beautiful little spot. Our pups loved the pond and stalking the frogs (they were too afraid to get close haha). There is a little clutter at the entry as mentioned in other reviews, but the space down by the pond was clean and offered plenty of space around to enjoy. The ground is a little unlevel, so better suited for a smaller tent then trying to find a space for something larger.

Me and my son really enjoyed ourselves for 3 nights on the island. I've been camping most of my life and this place is definitely one of the best. Not just because of the site or the views or the quiet but the hosts Ray and Terry. Everyday they would visit us with their 2 so friendly dogs Hunter and Walker to see if everything was ok. And everything was more than I expected. They bring fresh spring water and the firewood is there under plastic so it's always dry. There's even cooking utensils in case you didn't bring your own! Not only that but they have fishing rods and lures you are free to use! At night we were surprised when stringed solar lights came on surounding the campfire area! Where are you going to find a campsite like that? Lots of trails to hike and explore as well. There's lots of space to put several tents as well. And there's lots of shaded areas if you like to have time out of the sun. Ray and Terry have done a tremendous amount of work and have thought of everything to make sure you enjoy your entire time there. We are absolutely returning next year. Thank you Ray and Terry. Looking forward to seeing you again!😊

Awesome campsite, views are like from a painting, beautiful and clean. This is our 3rd time camping on Terry’s campsites, and hopefully there will be more. Every time like first - clean, comfy and extremely peaceful.
We saw turtles, caught fish (there are some big ones too). Terry and Ray are always kind and friendly. I do recommend to visit this place at least once! A real piece of heaven!

If you're looking for a awsome getaway, Island Oasis is the place to be. The views of the water are amazing especially at sunset by the fire. Everything was well maintained and clean. The spring water ponds was just the right amount of cold and refreshing on those hot days. We spent hours just floating in the water. Hosts are amazing, We left feeling refreshed and already planning our next trip back.

Jake was a great host! He was friendly and showed us around the chalet when we first arrived. The chalet was very well maintained with all the basic amenities needed for glamping. The site was very private and the property was beautiful. We brought our dog along and he had the time of his life being able to be off leash the entire time.
Highly recommend, we will be returning.

The Cottage is really cozy. It has just the right mix of Off the Grid, with the modern amenities that are integral for comfort. The property is crisscrossed with some Fantastic Parklike trails.

I was really happy to find this place. The owners are supper polite and kind. Terry took me on a walk on the land and we had a good conversation there. The dogs are the best part of it. The pond is a great place to be in while hot outside just make sure you can’t dive in because of the algae under it but really nice to swim on the swimming ring with clear water. The owners gave us everything what we needed and overall I want to come to this place again))

We had the best time here! Jake met us on arrival to show us a few things and was so kind in giving us from fresh garlic he had grown and some home made strawberry jam (which was incredible)! The chalet its self did not disappoint it was so well equipped and clean! So many times we have gone places and felt like they were cleaner when we left than upon arrival so this was amazing! The shower was 10/10 and a nice treat it worked perfectly. This chalet really has it all, peace and quiet, beautiful trails and views, comfy bed, space inside and dog friendly! Jake was so lovely and attentive and really makes you feel at home, you can tell the care he has for this space everywhere you look. We are already planning when we can come back up again as this will be a repeat spot we come to! Thanks for sharing your slice of heaven with us and the pups!

Stunning views, a warm pond and an opportunity to stay here privately, without dozens of other campers makes this place truly unique. What a wonderful experience! We had 3 kids and a dog with us and everyone had the best time! The property is beautiful and the island is one of a kind. We felt like guests, and the hosts made sure we had everything we could need and so much more. They are the best kind of people and we feel really grateful to have been able to share their place with them and enjoy their awesome land and hospitality. So many features of this place were a delight to discover and I’d recommend this site and especially these hosts to everyone. Looking forward to booking again.
