The bungalow features a queen-sized memory foam mattress, a seating area with a table and chairs, and its own covered deck. (April through October) The bathroom includes a Think Tank compost toilet and a sink with cold running water (April through October). Check-in is easy with a coded door lock.
I live in the main house with my two cats, and while I’ll give you complete privacy, I’m always available to answer questions or share local recommendations.

Welcome to The Sanctuary; I purchased this property in 2022 & am ready to share a little bit of this Canadian History.
One of the Oldest churches in Canada. Erected in 1860 as a Welsley Methodist church who were known for "methodical" devotion to prayer and social justice; such as supporting the underground railroad; they were also famously "teetotalers" (no Alchol) and this church was highly likely the headquarters for the local Temperance movements in 1800 Oxford Centre. In 1925 they joined the United Church of Canada until 2021 when the congregation folded
There are several church services still taking place throughout the week; so please, if wanting to stay; Remember respect goes a long way. You are more than welcomed to participate in the sermons; please remember; I own the property and have no affiliation with the church group other than being the landlord.
There is a decommission graveyard on site with the last burial taking place in 1921. Please respect the ancestors buried; you might even see a ghost worthy seeing!
In 1970; an F4 Tornado came thru Oxford County 1km wide and destroyed pretty much the entire area; except for this church.the roof was missing when the storm finally past, but the original stained glass survived; It destroyed 30 homes and the Anglican Church rebuilt across the street. Most all the graves made their way all over the adjoining fields and the pieces that were found and returned were set in the corner section of the grave yard. RIP.
Behind the church is an area for tents; please respect the graveyard & do not set up camp past the church building where the graveyard is. You are more than welcome to pay your respects, please no harmful doing on this part of the land.

Welcome to The Sanctuary; I purchased this property in 2022 & am ready to share a little bit of this Canadian History.
One of the Oldest churches in Canada. Erected in 1860 as a Welsley Methodist church who were known for "methodical" devotion to prayer and social justice; such as supporting the underground railroad; they were also famously "teetotalers" (no Alchol) and this church was highly likely the headquarters for the local Temperance movements in 1800 Oxford Centre. In 1925 they joined the United Church of Canada until 2021 when the congregation folded
There are several church services still taking place throughout the week; so please, if wanting to stay; Remember respect goes a long way. You are more than welcomed to participate in the sermons; please remember; I own the property and have no affiliation with the church group other than being the landlord.
There is a decommission graveyard on site with the last burial taking place in 1921. Please respect the ancestors buried; you might even see a ghost worthy seeing!
In 1970; an F4 Tornado came thru Oxford County 1km wide and destroyed pretty much the entire area; except for this church.the roof was missing when the storm finally past, but the original stained glass survived; It destroyed 30 homes and the Anglican Church rebuilt across the street. Most all the graves made their way all over the adjoining fields and the pieces that were found and returned were set in the corner section of the grave yard. RIP.
Behind the church is an area for tents; please respect the graveyard & do not set up camp past the church building where the graveyard is. You are more than welcome to pay your respects, please no harmful doing on this part of the land.

We had a lovely time at the Pinecone Bunkie. Privacy, quiet, Clean and nice. So close to Long Point and so easy to get there from our Bunkie. The Bunkie was clean and quaint...nice fire pit, comfortable beds, room for everyone to relex and enjoy our time. Dogs had a great time too, they can't type so they are barking their review and I can't understand them. Our Bunkie will be reserved again!

We had a lovely time. The area was quiet and the tiny home is adorable.
I think they should have provided a paddle to stir the hot tub. It doesn’t really heat evenly. Your upper body can be toasty and feet cold. It takes a long time to heat up too. The sauna worked very well.
If you have any mobility issues, you may have a hard time getting up to the bed. The steps are small, steep and no railing. Be careful, and go up and down on your bum
Overall, It was a quiet, peaceful and romantic getaway. We were delighted to see some deer frolicking in the woods in the wee hours of the morning, plus many smaller critters. Perfect romantic getaway.

My friend and I had a lovely stay the end of February. The Strawbale cabin was absolutely gorgeous. It was nice and cozy with the wood stove and we were supplied enough wood to keep us toasty during our stay. The outhouse was very cute and did not have an odour. We met one host on our arrival and she was very friendly. Hosts were responsive and helpful. Overall a great experience and would recommend to anyone. Stayed with dogs and horses. Eggs, honey and note were a lovely personal touch.

Erin was a fantastic host that was on top of everything and had a great response time which really allowed me to sit back and enjoy my vacation. The land is beautiful and very peaceful, it was great to have such a large space to explore and not overlap with others. The Bunkie itself was terrific and a nice mix of still feeling like camping but not too over the top feeling like you are in a hotel which is a perfect mix. The inclusion of extras like toilet paper, water, chairs and a table along with a “did you forget this?” box was very kind of them. Nice and comfy bed, good amount of space to move around, store your stuff and still hangout if the weather isn’t great without feeling crowded. We also heavily enjoyed being able to bring our GSD with us, highly recommend for those with dogs as well.

We had a wonderful time staying at Beth’s little oasis! We booked this trip last minute as my husband and I needed a little R&R and this place did not disappoint!
The hottub was so cozy for the two of us, we had a table top little fire going and it was very quiet and peaceful. You have total privacy on the patio, especially at nighttime! You do not feel like you are close to the house or in a shared space at all.
Our dog loved the space also as the area is fenced in, she enjoyed lounging in the snow lol!
The composting toilet was totally fine and easy to use and navigate. We visited in the winter so no running water for the sink or shower, but Beth left us water for washing and that did the trick! We also brought some jugs of water ourselves and we basically winter camped with a cozy bed!
We walked the pier and visited the shops along the strip which was super cute, before heading to Lynn valley trail to explore:)
We played games and ordered pizza and had a great adventure:) We also used the BBQ for a delicious steak dinner the one night.

Weekend Trip to Spring Arbour Magic Forest &Trails!
We came during the winter and stayed in the bunkie for the weekend, and it was so beautiful and the wood stove kept us warm all night! Getting there was very easy, they even made a track for us right to the bunkie since the snow had been bad the days prior. Felt very secluded and was a perfect weekend! Would definitely recommend to anyone!

Beth’s place truly is the perfect serene getaway for anyone looking to escape the city. The peaceful setting made it easy to relax and unwind, and everything was just as we had hoped.
We really enjoyed our time there and would happily recommend this place to others looking for a quiet retreat.
Beth was an amazing host! As soon as she knew we were bringing our dog, she went the extra mile by setting out a cozy bed and a fresh bowl of water.

Weekend Trip to Forest Cabin
The forest cabin was everything I’d hope for and more. I wanted a place to get away and reconnect with nature and that’s exactly what I got out of my stay. I went for hikes through the property, got to play with the sheep and the dogs! And like others have said in their reviews, by far the best outhouse I’ve ever soon! I would 100% recommend staying here! I’ll be back to check it out in the spring or summer!

Weekend Trip to Boho Bungalow in Port Dover
Beth was the best host anyone could ask for! The bungalow was cut clean and comfortable We had amenities for tea coffee and she was even so kind that she shared some drinks with us because the liquor store was closed. She also provided us with a microwave that was not originally included and it did come in very handy. We felt like we bonded immediately. The hot tub was a delight and heated porch area. Beth was kind enough to allow us to use her bathroom for a shower and it was not ackward at all. We had plenty of privacy. I would highly recommend staying her as it was not expensive at all.

Spring Arbour bunkie was a magical experience for my husband and me. Although we were alone in the forest on our mid fall trip, we felt such a sense of peace cozied up in the glow of the wood stove. What a thrill to go up for a scenic ride in Erik’s ultra light two seater plane. We really lucked out finding this hipcamp. The instructions were excellent and the hosts very responsive.

When we arrived, Jessica greeted us and gave us a tour of the property. She is super kind and hospitable❤️
The property is very beautiful and well maintained. The tent is warm and cozy, she actually gave us a heated blanket it was nearly freezing that evening
She also told me that I can ring her up anytime if we need anything. So sweet of her 🤩
The place is very romantic and we loved it!

The bunkie was great. Very cozy and comfortable. It was fantastic to have access both the forested area, and an open field for watching the sunset/sunrise or stars at night. Highly recommend this location in the fall when the leaves are changing. Close to Backus Woods, where I had a lovely hike as well.
Host Communication: 1/5
I was given too much information. Bombarded with four different text walls of instructions, rules etc. all saying almost the same thing but slightly differently (or contradicting one another sometimes).
The only personal communication (aside from several pre-written ones) I received from hosts was a message that said "Okay only if you need please ##########." This was in response to my request that we communicate by phone number once I leave my house since I do not have internet on my phone. Honestly, it made me feel like I was bothering them if I had questions while I was there - and I did end up having questions about how to safely operate the air intake on the woodstove but I just decided to keep it to myself.
Value: 3.5/5
This place was awesome, but a touch expensive. After paying an extra $22 for firewood (necessary - it was close to 0C at night) and cleaning fees (I did all the cleaning because I was told to leave it better than I found it. There are not even sheets to change) it was 270 for 2 nights. At that rate, I expect to at least be welcomed by the hosts.

2 nights at Forest Cabin
Everdale is a special place! The straw cabin is simple, comfortable and so quiet! I felt safe as a person going there solo and walked their well loved and cared for land extensively. It was an education as well in that they have a regenerative farm. Being a long time gardener myself, it was interesting to read the sign posts on my walk explaining different aspects of regenerative farming and the lands ecology. I'll definitely come back and in the colder months, be sure you're comfortable keeping the woodstove going, you may need to split wood, etc. Also, being solar powered, if it's a cloudy day, the lights may go off early. I was glad I brought a battery operated lamp. Great place, great feeling there.!
