Weekend Trip to Casa de Campo

We had a wonderful weekend at Casa de Campo! The cabin was very cute and had everything we needed. Although we didn’t meet the hosts in person, they were super helpful and responsive. The setting was private and peaceful — we wish we could’ve stayed longer! It was a very hot weekend, so having electricity in the cabin was a lifesaver (our fan made all the difference). Tip for fellow glampers: if you’d like to shower, the Norwood community center offers day passes to their fitness center for $9, but definitely call ahead to book as staff aren’t always on site. Highly recommend this spot to anyone who enjoys camping with a few comforts! Don’t forget the bug spray. Thanks Kevin and Liz. We hope to come back in the Fall 😊

3 nights at Riverbend

We visited during the first week of July. It was a peaceful, serence location with lots of bikes and trails close by. We saw a heron, beavers, frogs, nesting birds and more. The water was lovely to swim in. There were a lot of deer and black flies to deal with, but managable. Would definitely want to visit again.

This place was a true gem! We really enjoyed the serene views, the sounds of nature and just simply getting away from the chaos of our city. My littles had a blast, catching frogs, crayfish, exploring the rocks on the stream, prepping fires and exploring the woods. Weekend Trip to Forest Time Retreat

My 6 year old son and I had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Forest Time Retreat. The grounds were well maintained and had lots of space to play games and explore. The Bunkie and kitchenette were equipped with all the amenities to make this a comfortable glamping experience. The hosts were extremely kind and receptive. This spot is very private and secluded in the woods. We checked out the Ranney Gorge suspension bridge and had a swim at the local quarry. Lovely time all around!

We loved our stay at Henry’s Cabin! It was a lovely cabin fully stocked with everything that we needed for the weekend! The land is beautiful and there’s lots of trails to explore! Melissa messaged back very quickly when my kiddo managed to lock us out, thanks Melissa!

Katrina & Graham’s Grayotter Cabin is such a beautiful place. Nestled in a river bend you could hear the rumble of the rapids lying in bed at night! It is such a gorgeous natural setting. The cabin is an amazing off grid space and has just about everything. Just add water! There is plenty of firewood, two fire pits outside and a cozy woodstove! We absolutely enjoyed our stay there and would highly recommend it for anyone wanting to get away from it all in a pristine natural environment. The hosts are super responsive to answer any questions and made us feel very welcome. Our dog Patches loved our little weekend away!!

For the last 26 years we have lived here on our 6 acres of property where our Maple Sugar Bush allows us to produce our very own maple syrup every spring. Welcome and thank you for your interest in Forest Time Retreat. We offer an ideal location for those seeking a peaceful and nature based get-away. Stay in a Rustic Bunkie situated a distance from the road surrounded by trees and walking trails over 60 acres. The bunkie features a queen mattress, 4 windows and if desired, the mattress can be rolled up to accommodate a centre table for card playing. There is no hydro, indoor water or heat in the bunkie. Outdoor amenities include: propane barbeque, firepit, countertop for food prep, cast iron frying pan and pot, plates, bowls, mugs, and flatware. A sink is on site for dishwashing and hygiene using non-potable water which we provide. A pit outhouse is available; sorry, no shower yet. Bring your own linens, pillows, sleeping bag and water for drinking. Since you'll be in a nature environment, bug spray is a good idea. Be mindful of identifying poison ivy too. Due to invasive insects, please do not bring firewood - we have firewood on site. The grounds are an excellent location for walking, photography, writing, drawing, painting, forest bathing, meditation or just to chillax. For those looking for local attractions: Westben Theatre, Launch your fishing boat or kayak at Trent River Monument (9 km from site), Ranney Gorge Suspension Bridge, Seymour Conservation Area (with a quarry for swimming), Dooher's Bakery, Empire Cheese, Church-Key Brewing, Fogorig Brewing and several food and restaurant establishments are available in Campbellford area. If you forgot to pack something, Giant Tiger, Dollarama, Stedman's, Sharpe's or No Frills may offer what you need. Only 13 km to Campbellford or 12 km to Havelock.

We are 5 minutes to the quaint town of Norwood, and minutes to Hastings Trent River's fishing adventures! We are close to all the needed amenities. You are welcome to use the wood on hand and any wood found on the ground! Sit by the pond, sit by the creek, sit in the waterfall, sit out at Blueberry Hill for a pleasant breeze or up on SunStar Ridge for some nightly star gazing or lay back in a hammock or on zero gravity chair 1 Bunkie on a hill overlooking the pond and 2 private tent sites, one at Boot Hill and one in the Field of Dreams. Each site has a fire pit and a compostable toilet and there is an outhouse on the property for the bunkie. Great for canoes, kayaks, bird and wildlife watching with spectacular star gazing. This property was part of an old homestead and as such I am still finding things so please respect the caution tape and stay on the marked trails. Some are treasures (European Grapes, Bergamot, French Roses, Asparagus, Rhubarb, Ramps, Fiddle-heads) and others not so much. I am re purposing what I can and collecting the rest for disposal as I nurture this land back to what it was meant to be, paradise. There is an outdoor shower available as well. If you are green minded you are welcome here!
