Oh. My. Gawd. Where to start?! This is one of the original properties for the area. Owned by one lovely family since the 1700's until your current (very lucky) host. The house was the post office from 1861 to 1961. One of the rooms was the hospice for the area... SPOOOOOKY!!! There is a culvert from the 1700's on the property from where the province moved the highway sometime before the 40's. Neat! Reggie took over ownership in 2020 and is keeping things as original as possible, but adding his touch, like his battle axe travel trailer, Franny, which makes her home in the driveway. She's worth a visit! - TENT ADVANCED LEVEL LAKESIDE is by far the most beautiful; however, it is a small area, located on the edge of the property, and I can't be responsible for the neighbours to a certain extent. Fort Nova is your home for as long as you choose. Let's get campy! **KEEP IN MIND THAT THERE MAY BE OTHERS STAYING THERE** But there are multiple areas to choose from, including: the lawn, living amongst the pines, a forest clearing, or even lakeside (it's rough back there). You can have complete privacy and feel free to reach out to me at the house if you need anything. For those with RV's, there is an exterior outlet and a water spigot, but please remember, others might be staying there so we need to play nice and share! Weekend Trip to FORT NOVA

We arrived at sunset to Reginald’s farmhouse. Yard was mainly flat and easy to navigate. Sunset was beautiful, and we didn’t know when we booked that it was so close to the seaside. We ate an apple from the tree which was delicious. Farmhouse is a little museum onto itself and smells slightly of damp. Bathroom has all necessities and shower was excellent. Overall a perfect peaceful spot to stay! Host was a great writer and communicated well

For me, Fort Nova was heaven and strategically located. The peaceful setting was great. That peace was interrupted at times as I hiked down the trail to the huge beaver pond each morning with coffee in hand. The interruption was, many mornings, from either an eagle or an osprey. Located an hour from Yarmouth and an hour from Liverpool, the farm was perfectly located to explore the entire southern part of the province. And, next door was a restaurant with a view of Jordan Bay.

Fort Nova, for me, was heaven. Perfectly situated to explore the southeast corner of Nova Scotia. Yarmouth was only hour to the east and Liverpool an hour to the north. Charming Lockport, with it expansive beach, was fifteen minutes away. The solitude and the grounds are fantastic. My morning walk along the trail, through the pines, to the expansive beaver pond was magical. A place that allows one to experience quiet and solitude...except for the screech of the bald eagle.

In the Hut there was a book about forest bathing, and their property is truly the epitome of it - peaceful, serene and therapeutic. The beautiful views, steps from access to the lake and the added conveniences (chairs, structures, water, etc.) is unbeatable. Karen was quick to respond, kind and very accommodating. Looking forward to coming back!

These tent spots are truly breathtaking. Each one is well thought out and feels incredibly private. Reggie was so incredibly easy to communicate with. Although he wasn’t there this weekend he still managed to make us feel welcome.

3 nights at Owl's Hollow Eco-Therapy Glamping

We have done a lot of camping with our kids. We first discovered this spot last fall and swore we’d be back in the warmer months to enjoy the lake more. This was one of our favourite camping trips to date. The location is amazing. The facilities are fantastic. It’s clean, organized, has SOOO much included for enjoying the water. Kayaks, paddle boards, canoe, and even has waterproof phones cases. Our kids (and dog) thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the trip. We spent hours on, and in, the lake. The shaded area of the camp site was perfect for the heat wave, as was the lake!

1 night at Owl's Hollow Eco-Therapy Glamping

We absolutely adored our time here! The attention to a campers needs and all the details blew us away. It was so nice to be remote but still feel safe and connected. The cooking hut was a great touch, and we loved having our morning coffee in the chairs. We really appreciated the water that was provided by the host. When you go ensure that you bring extra lights (such as lamp or head lamp) and we had bug nets plus a fly zapper that came in handy! Overall it was an unreal experience, and we felt so taken care of for being in the woods! We would absolutely recommend and intend on going back again!

Very nice camp site with excellent views. 2 kayaks provided for great lake fishing on Tupper Lake (YellowPerch & SmallmouthBass). Would recommend for anyone who likes remote camping, fishing & wildlife incounters.
