Oh. My. Gawd. Where to start?! This is one of the original properties for the area. Owned by one lovely family since the 1700's until your current (very lucky) host. The house was the post office from 1861 to 1961. One of the rooms was the hospice for the area... SPOOOOOKY!!! There is a culvert from the 1700's on the property from where the province moved the highway sometime before the 40's. Neat! Reggie took over ownership in 2020 and is keeping things as original as possible, but adding his touch, like his battle axe travel trailer, Franny, which makes her home in the driveway. She's worth a visit! - TENT ADVANCED LEVEL LAKESIDE is by far the most beautiful; however, it is a small area, located on the edge of the property, and I can't be responsible for the neighbours to a certain extent. Fort Nova is your home for as long as you choose. Let's get campy! **KEEP IN MIND THAT THERE MAY BE OTHERS STAYING THERE** But there are multiple areas to choose from, including: the lawn, living amongst the pines, a forest clearing, or even lakeside (it's rough back there). You can have complete privacy and feel free to reach out to me at the house if you need anything. For those with RV's, there is an exterior outlet and a water spigot, but please remember, others might be staying there so we need to play nice and share! On the property, there is: - A decent-sized lake (I wish I had a canoe... :( ) - 1700's abandoned bridge - Lots of foraging (Won't be held liable if ya eat something silly!) - Rail Trail (runs through the property) So many bloody things to do nearby: - The ocean is right across the street. - Oasis Fish and Chips (Also right across the street!) - Beech Street Kitchen (in Lockeport) - Barrington (Lobster capital of the world, UFO capital of Canada) - Brooklyn (Hank Snow's hometown) - Provincial Parks - Boxing Rock Brewing Co.

My friends and I loved tent camping on Mark's land! The view was beautiful, and the property was very clean and private. There were amazing amenities available for us to use. We had so much fun canoeing and paddleboarding on the lake. Would recommend staying here!

The site was lovely, right next to the sea with a beautiful view. The tent has everything you need, to cook, a bbq outside and heat plate inside, the gaz is included and there's solar powered lamp in the tent above on the table to cook inside. We just used our own French press to make coffee in the morning but that's about it ! The bed is lovely, there is an extra mattress for a third person. The site very quiet and we slept like babies. We had a very good night !

Well drained site in the woods, I came with a 17 foot RV and had no issues. Little sand area on the water gets some good sunshine. Private spot…your dry camping… Host is excellent, helpful and a very nice human… Nice area here, bridgewater is great for supplies, beaches everywhere, very clean environment Close enough (25m) to crescent beach for kitesurfing…pray for wind I’ll be back…🏄‍♂️

We arrived at sunset to Reginald’s farmhouse. Yard was mainly flat and easy to navigate. Sunset was beautiful, and we didn’t know when we booked that it was so close to the seaside. We ate an apple from the tree which was delicious. Farmhouse is a little museum onto itself and smells slightly of damp. Bathroom has all necessities and shower was excellent. Overall a perfect peaceful spot to stay! Host was a great writer and communicated well

For me, Fort Nova was heaven and strategically located. The peaceful setting was great. That peace was interrupted at times as I hiked down the trail to the huge beaver pond each morning with coffee in hand. The interruption was, many mornings, from either an eagle or an osprey. Located an hour from Yarmouth and an hour from Liverpool, the farm was perfectly located to explore the entire southern part of the province. And, next door was a restaurant with a view of Jordan Bay.

I loved my time at the bell tent. The view from the bed facing the screen door is beautiful and listening to the sound of the waves on the shore lulls you to sleep. There are enough amenities to be comfortable but it is rustic enough that you still have the simplicity of camping. A perfect combination for someone my age. The host is friendly and very accommodating. Many lovely beaches and sites to see within close driving distance. I would love to go back sometime!

Fort Nova, for me, was heaven. Perfectly situated to explore the southeast corner of Nova Scotia. Yarmouth was only hour to the east and Liverpool an hour to the north. Charming Lockport, with it expansive beach, was fifteen minutes away. The solitude and the grounds are fantastic. My morning walk along the trail, through the pines, to the expansive beaver pond was magical. A place that allows one to experience quiet and solitude...except for the screech of the bald eagle.

The campsite is located on a 6th generation farm where we have Angus cattle, chickens, vegetable and flower gardens and lots of space to enjoy nature. We also offer farm tours to guests so they can see how a small farm operation works. We are located in New Ross, 1 hour from Halifax, and the community also offers many activities to do like explore Ross Farm Museum or enjoy one of the many trails. The farm also offers a lovely event space under a post and beam pavilion that was erected in 2018. The building is used for workshops and events but is also the site for camping. The building is covered and has lights for in the evening as well as a firepit. Tenting can be done on the gravel or lawn around the building.

Solar lanterns illuminate the path to the water. Your stay will be completely private. The yard is fenced in case you have a dog. Close to town but far enough away to feel rural. Reception but no wifi at the river. Set up a slack line or hammock in the daytime, explore the region, and enjoy a fire at night (currently there's a fire ban, scheduled to lift in October). The river is fantastic for kayaking, canoeing and SUP. You can rent them in town, or BYO. I have one paddleboard available (and two life jackets) if you want to explore the water.

Oh. My. Gawd. Where to start?! This is one of the original properties for the area. Owned by one lovely family since the 1700's until your current (very lucky) host. The house was the post office from 1861 to 1961. One of the rooms was the hospice for the area... SPOOOOOKY!!! There is a culvert from the 1700's on the property from where the province moved the highway sometime before the 40's. Neat! Reggie took over ownership in 2020 and is keeping things as original as possible, but adding his touch, like his battle axe travel trailer, Franny, which makes her home in the driveway. She's worth a visit! - TENT ADVANCED LEVEL LAKESIDE is by far the most beautiful; however, it is a small area, located on the edge of the property, and I can't be responsible for the neighbours to a certain extent. Fort Nova is your home for as long as you choose. Let's get campy! **KEEP IN MIND THAT THERE MAY BE OTHERS STAYING THERE** But there are multiple areas to choose from, including: the lawn, living amongst the pines, a forest clearing, or even lakeside (it's rough back there). You can have complete privacy and feel free to reach out to me at the house if you need anything. For those with RV's, there is an exterior outlet and a water spigot, but please remember, others might be staying there so we need to play nice and share!
