We are located on a beautiful forested acreage! Our property is in the heart of Black Creek, BC. We have two RVs turned into an enclosed space available for campers. Either those who are passing by or would love to explore our little community. We are a small walk away to Saratoga Speedway and the mini gulf course. We are a short distance away from two amazing beaches; one is pristine sandy beach and the other is Miracle Beach Provincial Campground. At low tide it is the perfect place to explore. When your done from your days journey, you can walk our beautiful farm trails. Our community and property is perfect for children to explore. On our property we even have a small playground and a pond to explore. Don’t forget to feed the chickens your leftovers :) Our home away from home offers every you need. Wake up surrounded by the stunning sights and sounds of nature. It's your panoramic view! Just 300 meters from the beaches of the Strait of Georgia, nestled on an acreage of family property is The Glamping Beachcomber. This oasis consists of a spacious canvas tent on a 900 sq’ fenced, deck 2 cots and mattresses set up under the 10x10’ canopy. Tent is well-furnished inside and out with an outdoor covered, supplied kitchen. Step off the deck and choose your path! If Oyster River is your destination, the nature trail will take you there. Stop along the way for a swim, picnic, paddle, driftwood fort building, maybe try your campfire building skills! Or meander above the shoreline along the driftwood covered shore on one side of you and past acres of distillery farmland and the Oyster River Estuary on your right. Where the river meets the sea just around the corner, it’s not uncommon to find a seal bobbing and heron near the shoreline, and maybe an eagle further out on the sandbar waiting for their seafood meal. To smell the forest, sea, and freshness of a flowing river all in one breath doesn’t happen many places, but it’s here every day. Deer, rabbits, herons and eagles are a near certainty right on our property. Currently there is a Great Horned Owl’s nest with 50 meters and you may catch sighting of the owlets. The bright sunny fielded forest alongside the beach blends together these experiences so seamlessly. And If a touch of civilization appeals, you'll find the essentials just past the nature trail, or a short drive away. Just beyond our property at Salmon Point… Shelter Point Distillery tastings and tours. Oyster River plaza (Grocery store, liquor store, pizza and coffee, and a medical clinic/pharmacy). Sandy Saratoga beach (water sport rentals) across the Oyster River. Miracle Beach Provincial Park. Saratoga Speedway on Saturday nights. Golf and mini golf. And we're 15 min drive to the bottom of Mt Washington, popular for hiking, ziplining, mountain biking and competition. Or, pocket your keys, and stay put. You really are in the thick of it! As a Glamping Beachcomber, natures majesty is your panoramic view. It's a complete holiday right here on the property.

The location is very close to downtown Nanaimo and all the amenities and services it has to offer. The campsite is quite private, tucked in behind the house and shaded during the day. There is an electric hookup for an RV, water is available, and a gravel strip beside the RV parking spot provides space to set up portable camping equipment. A large open area is also adjacent to the campsite. Dogs are welcome, but please note the backyard is not fenced. With rabbits and other small wildlife in the area, dogs must remain on a lead or under control at all times. There is no sewer/septic hookup on site at this time, but an RV dump station is located nearby.

After this pic was taken, we added a 10x10 canopy (with walls), for sleeping, or getting some shade. Also, there is additional covered kitchen space. Space for all your sporting equipment, and if you want to bring 2 more people, you can pitch your tent on the deck. Let me know about additional occupants thanks!

7 nights at The Glamping Beachcomber

We loved the open-air experience of our glamping tent, located near a beautiful stretch of beach near Oyster River. We walked our dog along the community trail every morning, and we spent many evenings on the beach. The tent ambiance is cozy, with a cushy bed, armchairs, and even braided rugs on the floor. The "kitchen" is very basic but supplied all we needed.

Our dog loves chickens so she was happy to make new chicken friends.

Danielle has thought of every detail that made our glamping vacation easy, comfortable and full of memories! Highlights were: coffee on the patio, feeding the chickens, picking blackberries and taking our dog for walks on the property. Our hosts were so friendly and responsive to any questions we had. A great place to unplug and unwind!

This was our second time booking Whimsical Red Barn and it was just as wonderful as the first! Danielle, Warren and their family are such warm and welcoming hosts—they put so much heart into this space, and it really shows. Their place is cozy, charming, and full of thoughtful touches that make it feel special. It’s just one of those places that makes you feel good just to be there- relaxing and uplifting. Just what we needed before school starts for our kids. We loved everything about this place. Way better than a hotel.

This place was absolutely amazing. My family of 7 stayed here and had the greatest time. With easy access to beaches and lots of things to do at the site we were always busy Danielle did an amazing job at making the trip feel like a home away from home. Plus the chickens, the kids loved the chickens!! If your debating on a place to stay on Vancouver island that can check all the boxes on your list, this is it! Highly, Highly recommend!

Our glamping experience at Danielle’s whimsical place was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we felt so welcomed and cared for. Danielle and her husband were incredibly responsive and attentive—any minor issues were addressed promptly and with genuine kindness. One of the sweetest surprises was the homemade banana bread Danielle shared with us—it was delicious and such a thoughtful touch that made us feel at home right away. We were celebrating my son’s 19th birthday during our stay, and Danielle went above and beyond to make it truly special. Before we even stepped inside, we were greeted with festive birthday decorations that made the camper feel so warm and personal. That extra effort meant the world to us and made the celebration even more memorable. The camper itself was cozy, charming, and fully stocked with everything we could possibly need. All we had to bring was ourselves. The attention to detail, comfort, and whimsical touches throughout the space made it feel like a little hidden gem in nature. My kids couldn’t stop saying how much they preferred this to any hotel stay—“wayyy better” was the unanimous vote! Thank you so much, Danielle and family, for sharing your beautiful space with us. We made such special memories, and we’re already looking forward to our next stay. You’ve created something truly unique and welcoming—we absolutely loved every moment of it!

Their location is right in the heart of the Comox Valley, Their site is a stone’s throw away to Miracle Beach Provincial Park and swimming holes in the Comox Valley.
