We strive to provide a place to enjoy the peace & quiet of nature, so it's not a place to party or have music loud enough for neighbours to hear.
Nestled in the heart of the Tamihi Recreational Area, just 20 minutes from town, our property offers a rare blend of seclusion and adventure. Surrounded on three sides by lush, moss-draped forest & bordered on the fourth by the stunning Chilliwack River, it’s a true nature lover’s paradise.
Enjoy a spacious riverside beach, great for swimming during the summer & fall & world-class fishing. The area features Class I–IV rapids for whitewater kayaking, with Chilliwack River Rafting just 5 or so minutes away. You can ATV right out of our gate onto unlimited logging roads and trails or hike the Trans Canada Trail 3 blocks from our gate.
There isn't river access at the sites. The stairs to the beach are through the picnic shelter. There is a light wire fence along the river in riverfront sites for protection due to a drop-off and undercut banks.
ATV's are idle in - idle out.
QUIET, well-mannered, leashed pets are welcome if you pick up after them and not leave them unattended.
LONG WEEKENDS are a minimum of 3 nights.
CHILDREN MUST be accompanied by a parent at all times!
FIREWOOD is $9. for a large feed bag full & is available between 9 AM and 8 PM.
WATER: We do have a non-potable water tap in the park. I'm not allowed to say that the water at the waterfall/creek is good water - so I won't.
BEEF and EGGS: We have grass-fed Black Angus beef jerky for sale (this cow was treated as a pet until her time & was dispatched on the farm to avoid stress). We occasionally have eggs from our pastured chickens.
Our free-range kind, gentle horses also wander the property. Any interactions with them are at your own risk! The gate must be kept closed because of them.

We have a 7 acre developing hobby farm currently with fruit trees, a garden, a king shepherd named Jack and a cat named Lulu. You may see some of our neighbour's ducks walking around and hear their rooster in the morning.
Please note; our driveway is an uphill, switchback driveway so long trailers are not a fit for our location. Front wheel or 4 wheel is a plus but typically all vehicles can make it up our driveway.
We have 2 swimming holes near and backing our property. At the back of the property is Hayward Lake/Hairsine Creek which is great for swimming. Inflatable paddle boards are the way to go if you wish to paddle board in the lake since it would be difficult portaging a rigid paddle board down the Crown Land trail. On the front is the Stave River Runoff. This has trails and is ideal if you have smaller children as the water is a bit warmer and has shallow areas.
There are hiking trails in the area and a beach area a short drive from the sites.

We would describe our property as: home…and a really fun place to grow up! Our parents thought that wasn’t descriptive enough for Hipcamp so they’ve helped us describe it more.
We live in a quiet neighbourhood in a forest that has been a source of peace, relaxation, and fun for us in our growing up years. We’ve noticed that people who visit here say they feel the same way.
With plenty of space for kids to explore and adults to relax, our 3 acre forest is perfect for down time with a book in the hammock or a nature walk before dinner.

A single, tidy campsite with picnic table surrounded by mature and gently manicured forest, as well as a hammock, and a new construction outhouse. (Go dad!)
We love hospitality, so though we won’t always be around when you’re here, if we are and you need something you can simply ask and we’ll do our best to provide what you need.
To help you feel welcome we provide a fresh, cool jug of drinking water and large container of fresh potable water as well as access to an outside tap to fill water containers if needed (upon request) , power to charge devices (upon request), and a campfire ring with firewood (sorry about the frequent fire bans. Huge bummer. We will post current fire ban status while you’re here.)

We had a fantastic stay at Sarah's RV pad and would not hesitate to recommend it to fellow travellers.
The site comes with electrical hookup, water connection, and surprisingly strong WiFi — everything an RV traveller needs without having to hunt around. Sarah provided clear and helpful instructions from the start, and was incredibly responsive to messages throughout our stay. That kind of attentive hosting makes a real difference when you're on the road.
The outdoor shower with hot water was a lovely bonus — a great touch that we really appreciated.
The only thing worth mentioning is that the indoor shower was temporarily out of service during our visit, but we completely understand that maintenance happens. We hope it gets sorted soon so future guests can enjoy the full facilities — it certainly didn't dampen our experience at all.
Overall a warm, well-equipped and thoughtfully managed spot. Sarah is a gem of a host. We'll definitely be back! 🙏🏻

Sehr angenehmer und ruhiger Ort mit nur 2 Stellplätzen. Wir haben es genossen, umgeben von einem Wäldchen und viel Grün. Ein Propanfeuer war auch für uns vorbereitet. Die Buchung war unkompliziert und eine Liste mit Tipps für die Umgebung lag auch bereit. Danke. Der kleine Strand in der Nähe mit vielen Baumstämmen hat was.

This was the perfect day and if it wasn’t full, we would’ve requested to stay longer. The river spot is absolutely gorgeous while we don’t have kids. It was clearly a great spot for kids to run around. It was the perfect distance from downtown Nanaimo were you still felt like you were sheltered and in the wild, but could get out to whatever you wanted quickly. The camp post was awesome! Showers and bathroom said they were in construction but worked relatively well with a one Looney cost for shower for six minutes if we weren’t all the way from Texas we would definitely stay here again.

This was our first Hipcamp experience and were surprised to arrive at a large commercial campsite instead of a small, quiet location.
The campground is great and seems well run. Small store, large bathrooms with showers, big sites but not too private. Very family friendly.
Though we were expecting something completed different from our first Hipcamp experience we had a wonderful time at Mountainaire Campground.
And I'll pay more attention when I book the next time. 🙂

The views were incredible. You could see all the way down to Mount Baker in Washington State from jims convivial deck. The sites were large and were positioned such that you could easily have privacy but also friendly interactions with other campers if you were so inclined

We had a wonderful 8 night stay at DeCourcy Meadows. Even though the owner’s home is close by, the camp site is private and quiet; perfect for a base camp to explore although you should allow time to visit the local neighborhood beach and have at least one meal at the nearby Crow & Gate Pub. Rod is a respectful, gracious and all around awesome Hipcamp host. After setting up, camp walk down the driveway and go right, then take a right on Pylades - a magical beach with a public access trail will be to your left (small parking lot, portable toilet).

This was a great spot for us for a few days while we visited Nanaimo to mountain bike. The spot itself is laid out a little awkwardly, prob best for a group spot but there was no one in #2 so it works out great. We’ll be back!

There was so many things for my child todo. Hunting frogs and snakes at the pond, walking down to the river to float, play at the park. Wifi worked well which is always a nice bonus. I’m new to rv spots so I was surprised that there was no barriers between my site and the next. That could be a normal thing I’m not sure. But everyone was super friendly
