We have a 7 acre developing hobby farm currently with fruit trees, a garden, a king shepherd named Jack and a cat named Lulu. You may see some of our neighbour's ducks walking around and hear their rooster in the morning. Please note; our driveway is an uphill, switchback driveway so long trailers are not a fit for our location. Front wheel or 4 wheel is a plus but typically all vehicles can make it up our driveway. We have 2 swimming holes near and backing our property. At the back of the property is Hayward Lake/Hairsine Creek which is great for swimming. Inflatable paddle boards are the way to go if you wish to paddle board in the lake since it would be difficult portaging a rigid paddle board down the Crown Land trail. On the front is the Stave River Runoff. This has trails and is ideal if you have smaller children as the water is a bit warmer and has shallow areas. There are hiking trails in the area and a beach area a short drive from the sites.

We love hospitality, so though we won’t always be around when you’re here, if we are and you need something you can simply ask and we’ll do our best to provide what you need. Hi! We’re your hosts, Seth, Jodie, and Megan Williams. Recently we decided to share our property that we love and have enjoyed so much for two reasons: to give others the opportunity to enjoy it and to put money away for university. Our parents, Mark and Sarah, got behind the vision and are excited to be part of this project with us. We would describe our property as: home…and a really fun place to grow up! Our parents thought that wasn’t descriptive enough for Hipcamp so they’ve helped us describe it more. We live in a quiet neighbourhood in a forest that has been a source of peace, relaxation, and fun for us in our growing up years. We’ve noticed that people who visit here say they feel the same way. With plenty of space for kids to explore and adults to relax, our 3 acre forest is perfect for down time with a book in the hammock or a nature walk before dinner. Amenities and service: A single, tidy campsite with picnic table surrounded by mature and gently manicured forest, as well as a hammock, and a new construction outhouse. (Go dad!) We love hospitality, so though we won’t always be around when you’re here, if we are and you need something you can simply ask and we’ll do our best to provide what you need. To help you feel welcome we provide a fresh, cool jug of drinking water and large container of fresh potable water as well as access to an outside tap to fill water containers if needed (upon request) , power to charge devices (upon request), and a campfire ring with firewood (sorry about the frequent fire bans. Huge bummer. We will post current fire ban status while you’re here.) Surroundings and local attractions: Our property is situated in a low traffic rural residential area within ¬ 3 km to Sandy Pool Regional Park (5 min) A family favourite! ¬ 10 km to the Cowichan Valley Museum (Duncan Totem Tour) (13 min) ¬ 14 km to the Pacific Northwest Raptor Center (15 min) ¬ 19 km to the Hand of Man Museum (20 min) ¬ 20 km to Lake Cowichan (16 min) for swimming, boating, kayaking, paddle boarding, etc Note: Lake Cowichan is also home to ‘The Tube Shack’ where you can rent tubes to float down the Cowichan River and catch the Tube Shack Bus back to your car. Close to many breathtaking beaches. You’ll be surrounded by gardens, marshland, nature & forest. The property is under construction to be a hipcamp dream. Wanted to get bookings available for summer! There is space to set up your own tent or I have a Glamping site which will be furnished including a queen bed in a 10 by 14 canvas wall tent. There will be composting toilets. An outdoor clawfoot tub, and coming soon a traditional Finnish sauna. Also offerings for island adventures such as paddling or foraging hikes, yoga and reiki. There is a 10pm noise bylaw on island so being respectful of that and other campers with no excessive noise after 10 is appreciated.

This was by far the BEST camping site ever! Everything was spotless and very easy to find. The facilities were super clean, especially the toilet, which was incredibly well maintained. The water jugs were very practical, and the site itself was quiet, private, and easy to access. The host was extremely kind and respectful, and he gave us great recommendations for places to visit that turned out to be amazing. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to Island Roost

We enjoyed our one night stay at this lovely secluded campsite in the forest! Andrew was so welcoming and kind and we loved chatting with him. We appreciated the thoughtful touches like the solar lights. The outdoor shower is super cool - we weren't brave enough to use it on this chilly weekend, but it would be sooo lovely and refreshing in summer time! The Orpington campsite is situated a good distance away from the house and other sites, so it feels secluded and private. We slept really well on the soft ground. Overall, would recommend and would definitely stay here again in the summer time :)

This was a lovely woodland site to pitch my tent in for three nights while bikepacking. Shady, quiet, peaceful. I appreciated the refreshing outdoor shower, with the view over ferns. The outhouse (cute, clean) and shower were close to the site. Sandra was friendly and the eggs were delicious! Location was perfect. I will definitely go again.

Weekend Trip to Living the Dream in Roberts Creek

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had such a fantastic stay at Dave’s campsite! Dave and his wife were excellent – incredibly friendly, welcoming, and super helpful throughout our visit. The location is beautiful, and just a short walk to the beach. Our kids had an absolute blast exploring and playing, and we loved how relaxed and family-friendly the atmosphere was. Couldn’t have asked for a better camping experience – we’ll definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to Hayward Farms

The property is beautiful with an amazing forest and stunning lake. Brent was very helpful (never met Sherri). I definitely wouldn't have booked the site if I knew it was up a steep driveway with about 3 switchbacks. I was driving a fully loaded old camper van pulling a small motorcycle trailer (also loaded with motorcycle and totes) and it was hard on the van, also had to back up and jackknife the trailer on a couple of the switchbacks. One suggestion I have (and already mentioned to Brent) is if they mark clearly on their main bio of the land that their driveway is not recommended for any kind of bigger units. Also if its wet, 4x4 would be better. Luckily it was dry when we arrived. I read through their page and didn't notice the one smaller spot they mention about the driveway. Brent was very helpful and also offered to pull my trailer down the driveway the next morning for us and that felt very supportive so he definitely made up for it! Haha. Thank you so much Brent for your kindness.
