This site, nestled on top of the cliff overlooking the Medina River Valley, is our smallest & most private site. If you like privacy, pretty views & bird watching you will love this spot! We are just 10 miles outside of Bandera so we offer the peace & quiet of the country. We DO NOT allow guests to have visitors so if you want to share your experience with your friends or family they need to book their own site. We are a family friendly campground so if you are looking for a place to get wild and party, keep looking. If you are looking for a place to get away, relax and enjoy the river then keep reading! You will have a picnic table and a small fire pit so don’t forget the S’mores! You also have access to the community grill beside the observation deck. We offer river access for floating, paddling, swimming or fishing. We do not offer a boat launch so if your water toy is on a trailer leave that at home! This site will accommodate 1 tent (no larger than 8 ft), a truck camper or a van. It is a great spot for a couple just looking to get away from it all. Our tent sites are primitive and do not have power or water at the site. There is water in the bathhouse and a wash station next to the bathhouse with a small sink and an outlet to charge a phone. We do not have trash service so you are required to take your trash with you when you leave. This site will accommodate 4 people, 2 pets and 1 tent. Please don’t ask if you can bring more people or pets, the answer is no. We include 1 vehicle with the site and you may bring a 2nd vehicle for a $10 charge.
Boulderdash Cabin & RV Park is located on 4.8 acres with serene views on the Medina River. Be aware that river levels vary widely. Sometimes we have a lake, sometimes a river, and sometimes a stream. Check for recent photos on our FB page or on Google to get an idea of the river levels. Even when the river is low we have a great swimming hole so bring your chairs, hats, sunscreen and shades. Come spend a weekend or longer at our little slice of paradise. Remember to invite your friends or family to stay at one of our other 3 rustic tent sites, 3 RV sites, the cabin, or our retro RV “Stella” so they can enjoy some downtime too! Bandera is just 20 minutes away and there is always something going on. It offers some great restaurants, a museum, several shops and best of all, Cowboys! If you like to hike the Hill Country State Natural Area boasts 40 miles of trails and is just a short drive away. If you are into horses there are a few local businesses that offer horseback riding. Come on down y'all, play in the river and enjoy the views!

Great weekend stay!
The stay was great! Wanted our own space for dogs that had water and we got that plus an awesome welcome from everyone we came across and a great tent space with a short walk to the water and adorable, shared bathroom. A lot of thought went into this place and it shows - even got tips on how to book in the future. People and dog approved! :)
Perfect place to get away and just
This place was exactly what me and my son were hoping for!!! The host (Andrea and Ryan), and their two adorable girls, are phenomenal people - extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful! Everything was so clean and well maintained! It was quiet and private.
The only suggestion I would have for a camper is to be sure and bring extra cushions or something to help level your sleeping mat, because the ground has a slight slope which causes you to slide down a bit when trying to sleep.
We loved this place and the experience so much, we have already booked our second trip for next month!!!
I just can't say enough great things about it!!!
This was a great camping spot. Site #4 gives you plenty of space to yourself and room to hang out. The walk to the river is pretty steep so just keep that in mind, if you aren't able to make that kind of treck you may want to try #2 or #3. Overall I recommend it, so many places have the sites on top of each other so we really loved the space here.
Great site, hosts, views, & river
Tent spot #4 was perfect for my son, my pup, and me. It was an easy 2 minute downhill hike to the beautiful river where, due to the low river level, there was plenty of things for my son to explore and my pup to run himself exhausted. There was a constant flow of water still present and it was no more than waist high in most areas.
The campsite was well maintained and we had plenty of room to set up our tent, kitchen area and we found a nice little are to sent up our shower / potty tent.
The hosts were there to greet us and we knew that if we needed anything, they seemed pleasant enough to accommodate.
We definitely plan on returning later this year when hopefully the water level is higher so we can swim and kayak.
Secluded tent site #4
Boulderdash Text Site #4 is a sweet little camp site over looking a steep private road that leads down to the Medina River. The site is a drive up site that includes a picnic bench with checkers and tic-tac-toe, a rock fire ring and a secluded tent pad. The ground is slightly slopped in the tent pad, but we found that some mindful positioning of our tent made it so the slope did not affect us. The hosts include bird seed and deer corn so you can feed the locals during your stay. We did see deer and many types of birds, though the birds were fed well enough, they had no interest in our seed. Hanging out on their Observation Deck, you will get a good view of the river and see lots of birds. Everyone from the hosts to each guest we encountered were exceptionally kind and welcoming. This particular tent site is tucked away from the RV sites but you will notice some road noise, RV doors opening and closing, the coming and goings of guests and a nearby donkey. Their little horse trailer bathroom is awesome. We were fully prepared to dig holes or pack our poo, but we let that go and allowed ourselves to enjoy their porcelain throne. We have nothing bad to say about this site and look forward to coming in the future when the river is higher for kayaking and swimming.
This is a really great place!
We had a wonderful time. It was very clean and well kept. There is a shower, and a restroom. We were in the tent section and they had a nice flat area for our tent, and table and fire pit area. It was very private. My children had the best time! We will absolutely be returning!!
