Off grid/ no power ….natural bushland … mozzies and all ! 🤠 Set amongst the trees, we have many shady spots to camp, and an open paddock also near the dam you can park away from Other campers, we have 2 bush toilets, we do our best to maintain but YES they can be a little stinky! But not too bad …. We also have 2 cute highland steers, 4 horses and 8 sheep in adjoining paddocks, a large dam to swim or kayak in, we also have nearby Soldiers Beach or Lakes beach just a 13 minute drive. Which is also dog friendly with a nice outdoor cafe. We have local IGA store, bottle shop, take away Chinese food / dominos , bottle shop and bakery, cafe and other outlets just 1km down the road. We have 2 friendly highland cows, you can feed them carrots and hay (provided) horses to say hi and pat! Located in wyee.

The property rests on the shoulder on Mt Nellinda on nineteen hectares of land, there are one large Greenhouse where we grow potted flowers and some veggies, also several large dams which are used for irrigation and act as a Sanctury for our geese, best of all are the views. The perfect spot for relaxing next to a fire and listening to the Frogs and nightlife and waking to the sounds of kookaburras and bird life, Lots of Rock Wallabies in the evenings and early mornings. Dog friendly, no leads required, portable toilets in the multiple Camp site 1 and an older style toilet in the camping area 2, fresh water available only next to the portable toilets camping area 1. also included is a camp kitchen with fridge, kettle microwave etc for your convenience. Check with host regarding campfires. Please DO NOT invite friends and relatives to your campsite without first notifying Host. (little curtesy goes a long way) Group bookings accepted with prior notice to save camping areas. Range of six camping areas. CAMP 1 allows up to 14 or more campsites to include caravans, motor homes, large or small. tents etc. with flat and slightly flat areas and close to the roadway dead end street. CAMP 2 allows up to eight or more smaller caravans tents rooftops etc also with some flatter areas. Some of our campsites/ Van sites DO NOT come with facilities. Please read your site description carefully. We have 1 powered site that is power ONLY on (OUR DAM ) site. No toilets, showers, kitchen or pool access . You need to be fully self contained. All other Eco sites have Hot Shower and flush toilets Some Campsites are in our lovely small manicured bush garden setting. It's a level, grass/lawn shaded area. There are 4x 15 amp powered sites. Suitable for small quiet groups/ families. NOT suitable for loud partying. Hot shower and toilets The state forest is a short 10min drive away for bush walking, mountain biking and 4 wheel driving. Beach is 40 min drive away. We are located close to the Central Coast and Newcastle. (In Cooranbong ) Some of our camp sites have access to three eco toilets and only one shared shower, rubbish facilities and drinking water. (Campfires) we have 5 fire pits on some of our sites , fires are permitted during the winter months. We also have 2 x 4 star cabins which sleep 15 between them, they are listed separately on Hipcamp. You will have access to the entire property during your stay, complete privacy. Staying here, you are completely hidden from any other man made structure, immersed in nature. The property is located less than 2 hours from Sydney, 20 mins from Cessnock and the Hunter wineries, adjacent to Sugarloaf Conservation area. You'll love the morning and evening birdsong and be surrounded by the colour green by day. At night, be lulled by the music of the froggy symphonies, watch the moon rise over the forrest, and being mesmerised by the warmth and dancing light of a fire. Wallabies visit at dusk and dawn and a Koala has been heard calling at night. A 1km drive from the main road leads to the open living space. There are two cabins, just within sight of each other, a campsite with an outdoor kitchen shed and a large oval lawn. The Sky Cabin (blue) has a very comfortable queen size bed, a large deck, bbq, composting toilet, small equipped kitchen, solar lighting, hot and cold running water, an outdoor hot shower, and slow combustion fireplace inside. The Earth Cabin has an exceptionally comfortable queen size bed, deck, composting toilet, solar lighting, a slow combustion fireplace inside and running water outside a short distance away. If you want to include Belle tents in your booking rather than bring your own you have the option to add those to your booking and we will set them up for you with lighting included, though you will need to BYO beds and bedding. The campsite adjacent to the shed has running water, an outdoor shower and outdoor toilet. The property has short (circular) walks through the bush, and access to Sugarloaf Conservation area (with further walks and access to the Great North Walk). But its the ideal place to just chill. There's a number of great lookouts nearby if you're up for a walk.  The Barn accommodation is great for groups who enjoy the outdoors. Enjoy your outdoor adventure with open living and eco tourism at the foot of the Watagan Mountains. Wildlife and bush tucker walks available. Firewood provided for your indoor fireplace. You will have access to a camp oven and rotating grill, as well as a kitchenette with a fridge, microwave, electric hot plate and kettle. There are toilet and shower amenities, and access to drinking water. There is phone reception in certain spots and limited wifi. There is no TV. The barn can accommodate sleeping for 10+ and features two double beds, two single beds, one couch, two air mattresses and five floor mattresses. There is also a fully equipped gym. You will need to bring your own sheets, pillows, sleeping bag etc for added comfort. Sleeping close to the fire upstairs is recommended in the cooler months. Camping is optional with nice flat spots near the dam under sheoaks. Our campsites are equally as beautiful. Chill out in the shade by the dam during the day. Firewood is provided and you're welcome to use the camp ovens and the rotating grill, but if you get stuck cooking on the open fire there is a microwave, electric hot plate and kettle. These are situated downstairs in the barn a short walk from site. A great swim in the 50m dam. There is access to toilets, showers, drinking water and rubbish facilities. Your furry friend is welcome to holiday with you.

Weekend Trip to Shady Acres

We had a wonderful stay in this caravan. It felt warm, cosy, and very homey. The host was kind and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Everything we needed was well prepared, and the amenities were complete and convenient. It’s a perfect place to unwind and create great memories. We truly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable getaway. Would definitely stay again!

Weekend Trip to Shady Acres

These hosts were amazing! Explained everything to us as we arrived, had firewood available to purchase and use in the permanent and portable fire pits available onsite. Toilets were well stocked with quality toilet paper, the drop toilets were kept clean. Property was well maintained and plenty of things for the kids to do around the dam. Kids loved the kayaks and pontoon. There were beautiful Water Lillie’s blooming also. Our friends stayed in the onsite van, which was clean, comfortable (unheard of for a caravan bed!), and well stocked. This property was perfect for our Easter getaway. There were other people but not too close together. They had cleared some areas ready for hip campers to park up. We had our dogs with us, who we kept on leash. Thanks guys! Hope to be back.

Weekend Trip to Halifax Hill

We really enjoyed our stay at Helen & Steve’s Shack last weekend. We were very impressed by The Shack being built against a rock wall face and the artful repurposing of all sorts of materials to create a most interesting and spacious hideaway. We found the leafy outlook lovely and the outdoor patio very relaxing. Our dog thought so too. Thank you, Steve & Helen, for having us at your Shack!

Weekend Trip to Cranky Rock Hunter Valley

Such a beautiful experience! We loved our stay here at Cranky Rock. The cabin is so unique with so many cool details, the more you look the more you find. The property is also incredible! We stayed with our dog who loved the horses and we also spotted multiple deer which I’ve never seen before so was thrilled about that. The hosts Pam and Lindsey were so welcoming and lovely, made us feel so at home. The best part, it’s dog friendly so you can bring your fur babies! We had such a great time here and thank you so much for having us 🩷

A wonderful place surrounded by nature, very cozy and perfect for disconnecting from daily life. The cabins are comfortable, very well equipped, and have everything needed for a peaceful and enjoyable stay. Being able to enjoy the fire pit makes the experience even more special and relaxing. It is definitely an ideal place to unwind or for a weekend getaway. I highly recommend it and would absolutely love to come back.

Lovely shack creatively situated on a rocky outcrop beside the McDonald river. It has all the charm of a yesteryear hideaway. It’s an experience not a polished hotel, think secret mountain recluse, take your book, your art stuff and a bottle of wine. we loved the bush views and sounds, the location and the quirk! Swimming in the river near by, zipping into town for a coffee or beer and enjoying the cute town of St Albans. Loved it so much we can’t wait to come back!

The Property was amazing and my friends and I had an amazing time. The place had so many things already there so we could come relatively light with just couple things extra. We enjoyed time around the campfire and exploring the vicinity. Lucy had left one of the belle tents up for us which was great because we needed an extra space. The lights around the property lit up nicely at night and having hot showers and hot water to wash was so good to have. 100% recommend to go and we will be there again.

We loved our stay at the Coral Tree Cottage. Lisa was super helpful and great with communication. The cottage has been renovated but done so to keep the rustic vibe. The reception isn’t the greatest but was super good to go off grid and recharge from a busy life. Would stay again

Fantastic place with friendly and helpful owners - everything's been thought of. The 2 cabins are well equiped, clean and very comfortable. There's several different places set up in the shade with seating, fireplaces and sinks/taps. Lots of good camping sites. Highly recommended - we'll be back!

Our stay in the malee cabin was perfect! Matt and Jenna are super friendly and helpful. The land was beautiful and we loved that we could explore some bush tracks on the property. The amenities were nice and clean and they even have a family friendly shower room which was really helpful! We will definitely be back.
