We’re a pet-friendly getaway—dogs are welcome on-leash and under control. Share the space with our friendly farm animals, including horses, a donkey, an alpaca, and free-ranging peacocks, chooks, ducks, and guinea fowl. Our property is fully off-grid, so campers must be self-contained and follow a leave-no-trace policy. To enhance your stay, we’ve recently added a flush toilet, outdoor sink, and cold shower, centrally located near the homestead due to the natural landscape. It’s a short walk from most sites and solar lit at night for easy access. Each site has its own firepit. Firewood is plentiful, fresh drinking water is available, and we can provide table and chair setups on request. Located just 30 minutes from Mittagong and 20 minutes from Berrima, you're close to great restaurants and cafes, lots of boutique shopping, weekly markets, award-winning cellar doors, and world-class distilleries and farm experiences. The Sunset site is high on the ridge with endless views out to the west - perfect for sunsets. The sunrise will sneak through the trees each morning. It is a cleared mulched bush site with a firepit, table and chairs. There is no lighting at the site. Guests have access to our communal toilet and cold shower - approx 220m walk from the site and fully lit at night. Wood can be arranged and delivered to the site. - access this through extras. We have an abundance of native animals, birds and flora. If you are looking for a night under the stars our property is perfect for star gazing. Dogs are welcome off leash and under control. They are welcome to run freely in the bush. If near the house / orchard, animals must be on leash due to the free ranging peacocks. We have a wide variety and number of domestic animals and free ranging birds including peacocks, chooks, ducks and guinea fowl. There is no power on the property.

The sunrise is tempered by the gums to the east, the sunset is dramatic to the west. There are 3 different lookout spots to walk to - there is no access to the river. This is a large cleared bush area where 4WD and off road vehicles have access. The site is good for up to 3 tents / 3 vehicles. Children under the age of 10 are not recommended on this site due to no fencing on the gorge edge. Dogs are welcome and can roam freely. Great camp, found the location easily using Google Maps. Stayed at Wali Gnana with ample space for 2 vehicles. Loved that we could collect our own firewood. Toilet was about a 5 min walk away, very clean. There were so many trails to explore, we walked about 5-10 minutes to the Gorge where the gorgeous lookout was. We took lots of photos there and watched the sunset. If you're a birdwatcher like I am, you'll come out of this camp with many new lifers.

Leanne’s is a special place. I didn’t really know what to expect but the view of the gorgeous is breathtaking. I didn't realise there were landscapes like this so close to Sydney. Beyond the view, Leanne is an exceptional person, she went above and beyond, was welcoming and warm and just a lovely person to chat with. We would visit again in a heartbeat!

The location and the grounds were epic but definitely not worth the price. For a space with nothing else there it’s very expensive. You could go to a regular caravan park or another hip camp with a stack of amenities for cheaper. I’m really unsure why it cost so much just to have a spot to pitch a tent

Leanne’s communication before and after our stay was excellent, and the gorge views are genuinely spectacular. The listing clearly states the toilet/shower/sink are shared, which is fine for a rustic camp. What wasn’t clear to us was whether the main sunset vantage point was reserved for Gorge site guests or shared across the property. Given the higher price point, we assumed some priority access, but it turned out to be open to all guests. Facilities are basic (portaloo near the site, shared cold shower/toilet 450m away), which is okay but feels steep compared to other Hipcamp stays at lower prices. We enjoyed the scenery and sunset; just go in knowing you’re paying for the location and view, not exclusive amenities.

Very lovely secluded property. The camp spots are very private and spacious. We stayed at Sunset which is pretty much a bush clearance and not much to look at during the day but is quite nice around sunset and dusk. The stars and the views of the gorge (a short walk) are spectacular. A bit over priced but I’d still recommend.

Wali Gnana Camp was a beautiful, peaceful and secluded place to stay. The spacious, private campsite offered a real sense of getting away from it all, while still having excellent amenities close by. The scenery was stunning, and the clear night skies made for incredible stargazing.

We loved camping Joadja Gorge Retreat it was quiet and private. The place was clean and great to set up camp on the paddock. The donkeys were great company, the toilet was clean and well appointed. It was a little walk but I am on crutches so that was a bit difficult. Thanks for having us stay!

Really nice, tidy campground and overall a lovely spot to stay. The grounds were peaceful with plenty of wildlife around, and the donkeys were super cute! Would have been great to have a hot water shower, especially considering the price of the campsite. We felt it was a little expensive for the facilities provided. The only other downside was a nearby campsite running a generator for hours, which was pretty annoying when we were there to enjoy the peace and quiet. We ended up contacting the host, who thankfully sorted it out. Overall, a beautiful and peaceful spot with lovely grounds and lots of wildlife. A hot shower and clearer rules around generators would definitely make it even better!

What a stunning spot! We stayed at the Sunrise camp which was private and tranquil. The host had recently placed a porta loo close by which was also very convenient. Found it very tricky to peg in our tent and tarp due to the ground being very rocky and also very loose at times. We got around this in the end and had a lovely stay in any event.

Second time here at The Paddock and first time with our 9-months old baby for winter camp. Great for basic campers - flat ground, walking distance to toilet. The stargazing was absolutely amazing, 30 min drive to Bowral, Mittagong ang Berima. Thank you everything Leanne!!

Visited Joadja Gorge Retreat and camping for 2 nights of solo winter camping and it did not disappoint! Stayed on The Gorge camp-site and whilst its the furthest of all the sites on the property, it's worth it! If you're after a serene escape into nature then I highly recommend this spot. The views from the top of the Gorge, the bird life, the night sky, the natural bushland that envelopes you ... all incredible! Leanne's an excellent host and everything was just as expected. Thanks again for a great experience Leanne and I will be visiting again for sure! Diego

Gorge Campsite
We had a fantastic stay at Joadja Gorge campground! It was incredibly private—we were the only ones camping there, so Monica and I had the whole site to ourselves along with our two pugs, Brenda and Barry. The campsite itself was huge, easily big enough to fit at least three other cars comfortably, giving us plenty of space to stretch out. Brenda and Barry had a blast roaming around and exploring the grounds. The views of the gorge were absolutely magnificent, which was definitely the highlight of the trip, along with the great walking trails nearby. Being so close to Sydney while still getting to unplug and completely immerse ourselves in nature makes it a massive win. We will definitely be back again!

Overall, it’s a scenic spot, and a lovely drive from Sydney through the southern highlands. Designated fireplace, chairs and table available, amenities nearby. You are ultimately sleeping in a dirt patch, which isn’t unusual for me in my past decade of camping. But for the price you pay, this is a very rudimentary camp in comparison to other hip camps I’ve stayed at for the same place

A really stunning place smack bang in nature, right next to the edge of a cliff. We were lucky to be the only group to enjoy the whole place but the camping spots are well distanced from each other, you have great privacy. Each spot has its own fire pit with tables/chairs which was handy. Awesome walking trails and friendly farm animals! A bit on the pricey side but would recommend.

Me and my friends loved camping joadja gorge. we stayed in the paddock camp and really enjoyed having donkey friends they were so sweet! would absolutely recommend this campsite to anyone the views were incredible when you walked further into the camp. 10/10

This is my 4th time here and usually I would say it’s an amazing place hence why keep coming back , however was disappointed this time due to Paddock 2 also being used when this is meant to only be used during peak periods. Wanted a nice quiet weekend which it usually is here however instead had a family maybe 20-30m from us with noisy screaming kids . The sunsets were again a highlight . Also make sure to bring ear muffs due to the rooster going off from about 3am each morning
