Earn this patch by being the first to spend a night outside at a new Hipcamp.
Coastal Hideaway Coastal Hideaway is a private, exclusive-use bush camping site set within 100 acres of natural bushland. The campsite is a gently sloping, open grassed area nestled beside tall eucalypt forest, ancient grass trees, and open wildflower heath. You’ll have the space entirely to yourself—perfect for watching the sunset over the distant hills and the moon rise through the trees. Location The site is conveniently located just 10 minutes from the historic riverside town of Maclean and 10 minutes from the dog-friendly surf and fishing beaches of Brooms Head. Yamba is also a short scenic drive away, with restaurants, breweries, coffee shops, and supermarkets all within easy reach. Site Access and Setting Access to the campsite is via an unsealed road that is generally suitable in all weather for two-wheel-drive vehicles, caravans, and campervans. The site itself is an open grassed area sheltered by tall native forest. Facilities and Group Size • Composting toilet • Fire pit • Plenty of space for small groups of up to 10 people • Room for multiple family tents, caravans, or campervan setups • Well-managed dogs welcome, provided they remain under control and on a lead Things to Do Explore the local beaches, riverside towns, and nearby attractions, or simply slow down and enjoy the quiet serenity of this peaceful natural retreat. Mobile Reception Mobile phone and internet reception is generally available on the Telstra and Optus networks.
