This is a working farm, so please be respectful of the crops and workers and keep dogs on leashes. Fishing is not allowed in the river. Please note, if it’s rainy, the roads will be muddy and 4-wheel-drive vehicles are the best option. Head 4 miles east to the town of Mills River for restaurants, stores, and services. You can find hiking, biking, and horseback-riding trails within a short bike or car ride in Pisgah National Forest. Chimney Rock State Park is 25 miles east and offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountain scenery. Or perhaps go for a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Cold Spring Basecamp is the perfect spot to launch your adventure. Located in the mountains of Western North Carolina. Whether camping, glamping or high in a treehouse (coming soon), Cold Spring Basecamp is the jumping off point for biking, hiking, paddling, zip lining, waterfalls or just enjoy our beautiful 38 acre property with mountain bike trails, hiking trails, beautiful creeks, waterfalls and endless relaxation potential. Three rustic and historic cabins recently rehabbed, but keeping all the old charm. One open wall lets in lots of light and the old wood accents the walls, kitchen, eating area, and bunk beds (with queen on the bottom and twin up top). Cook over the stone fire pit or on cast iron pots and pan on the propane stove. Full equipped kitchen for all your needs, including French press, and tea pot. Relax under the solar lights and charge your devices using our solar powered charging station. Campsites are all nestled in the woods and next to the creek and are all spacious and private. Each site has a picnic table, fire ring with grill for cooking over the fire. Additionally a water filter is provided for purifying drinking water from the creek. Launch your adventure from Cold Spring or stay on the property to enjoy the mountain bike trails, hike to the waterfall and cliffs or relax in the meadow. Minutes to the world class trails of Ride Rock Creek Bike Park and beautiful Lake Summit, just down the road from Ride Kanuga Bike Park and the world famous Green River, with class I-V rapids. We are at the back door of 86 miles of trails and dozens of famous waterfalls in Dupont State Forest. The steep, fast and fun Gorge Zipline is located in the quaint town of Saluda, along with shops and great restaurants. The shops and restaurants of Flat Rock and just up the hill and a bit further is the thriving town on Hendersonville, apple country and many of the areas wineries.

Learn more about this land: Fishing and Camping on a beautiful privately owned naturally spring feed 2.5 Acre pond. Pond fully stocked with Catfish, Yellow Carp, Buffalo Carp, Bass, and Brim. We do allow eating size catfish under 3lbs to be taken from lake. Large catfish and all other types of fish are catch and release only. No fishing license required. Typically caught fish weigh in at 20lbs plus. Some catfish as large as 80lbs. Enjoy peacefully fishing all night with your friends and family on a lighted fully stocked pond. Each campsite has its own fire pit so you are welcome to bring firewood and enjoy cooking out or having smores by the fire. Note: Due to sites being located directly on pond, some areas are 15ft deep and not recommend suitable for small children. Site Descriptions : please note the string lights are bright LEDs and have to stay on through out the night to ensure every one’s safety and enjoyment for night fishing. If you are not interested in fishing all night and would like a darker camping spot.. please consider choosing a site with Glow lights.. #8 and #3 Parking lake side is only available for Lot #8 and #3 all other sites are a brief walk approximately less than 800 ft to campsite from main parking lot. Camping near Greenville guide

Overview

Greenville is a college town and outdoor adventure hub in upstate South Carolina with excellent hiking, climbing, paddling, biking, and camping nearby. Located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Greenville is surrounded by state and county parks with alpine features, waterfalls, and sprawling trial systems. You can also beat the heat at multiple nearby lakes or paddle the Reedy River close to town. With numerous restaurants and breweries, Greenville makes a great basecamp to explore this area’s awesome nature. There are also local outdoor stores and outfitters in Greenville to prepare you for camping and wilderness exploration.

Greenville Vicinity

The Swamp Rabbit Trail is a 22 mile scenic greenway linking Greenville to Travelers Rest that’s popular with cyclists. Paris Mountain State Park preserves 1,700 acres of parkland and a 2,000-foot tall monadnock (isolated small mountain) within city limits. There are four lakes and 17 miles of hiking and biking trails to enjoy here, where RV campers will find an assortment of RV parks with free wifi, full hookups, and dump stations. Additional RV sites may be found locally in Pickens, Simpsonville, and Cleveland.

Table Rock State Park

About 40 minutes northwest of Greenville, Table Rock State Park is home to a spectacular granite dome with an elevation of 3,124 feet. There are hiking trails to the summit and shorter routes to waterfalls. The campground here has both tent camping and RV camping options, and sites come with picnic tables and fire rings.

Devils Fork State Park

Devils Fork State Park has lakeside camping on the beautiful Lake Jocassee. The exceptionally clear water here makes it a favorite for swimming, snorkeling, and scuba. Kayak, canoe, and stand up paddle board rentals are available nearby.

Jones Gap State Park

Jones Gap State Park features a beautiful mountain cove and 30 miles of hiking trails through forests and waterfalls, including a classic route to Rainbow Falls.

When to go

Camping is possible year-round in Greenville, with summer being the most pleasant and popular camping season. Winter lows can reach freezing and snow or ice is possible, especially at higher elevations. If you have the opportunity to travel here in the fall, the area’s deciduous trees undergo a spectacular fall foliage color transformation. Spring visitors are rewarded with waterfalls flowing at full strength.
