Camp on the edge of Forest Park and sleep underneath an evergreen canopy of Douglas fir and big leaf maple. We have one large forest glade with room for several tents. We book only one group at a time, so you are guaranteed the place to yourselves. We can accommodate up to 12 people, with a max of 4 vehicles (parking is tight). The campground features: -Fairy lights strung among the tress to create the perfect magical ambiance -Large fire ring with cooking grate and seating for two -Newly built "glampy" composting latrine (commune with nature!) - A huge clearing with multiple flat tent spots -1/2 mile of trails with hidden surprises - A parking area suitable for car camping or van camping during the rainy season. -Only 20 minutes from downtown Portland, 15 from I5, and minutes from gas and groceries *COMING SOON* Giant disk swing and swinging loveseat Parking is separate from the campground! It is a brief but steep 1/4 mile hike to get to the main campground and latrine. Bring hiking shoes and pack light. It takes most people 5-15 minutes to hike up, depending on fitness level and load size . If you want to car camp, you will be next to a road and separate from the latrine and fire pit. Enjoy several short trails on the camp's property before heading to Forest Park's Wildwood Trail, which is just up the street, or check out all of the incredible natural and urban nearby attractions in Portland. We are about 20 minutes away Portland's International Rose Test Garden , The Oregon Zoo, and Pittock Mansion Or just swing lazily in a hammock under the trees and enjoy the sound of the forest coming to life. Come relax and enjoy the amazing energy at Four Directions Retreat. We offer beautiful and shaded campsites and a tiny cabin that will be sure to please. We also have an amazing outdoor stage nestled at the bottom of a natural amphitheater that is perfect for a variety of entertaining needs. When not playing corn hole, disc golf or other yard games, our friendly little goats are known for putting on a show of their own just to get loves and scratches from our guests. Our beautiful property features a healthy 45+ year old Douglas Fir forest and a spacious meadow which is stunning in the spring with wild grasses and beautiful flowers. During the summer, you can take a break from the heat and relax amongst the huge ferns, Fir, Alder and Cedar trees and enjoy a variety of delicious berries found all over the property. You may also want to stretch your legs and take a leisurely walk along some of the old logging roads or give yourself a push along a forested hiking trail. Using mostly reclaimed materials, we built a stage great for entertainment (concerts, weddings, movie nights, etc... ), an outdoor event kitchen, and most importantly - the three composting outhouses strategically located to best accommodate our guest's basic needs. We also have a gorgeous Bathhouse available for a nominal fee to recoup the costs of waste disposal. We are happy to answer your questions and share our experiences with large events to help with your decision making process. The 4D Tiny Cabin includes a large space with a basic camp kitchen, fire pit, picnic table and space for a few tents (depending on size) for additional family or friends. We have 12 traditional camp sites that include picnic tables and fire pits that are spaced well apart to provide more privacy than you would ever get at a standard county, state or federal campground. Important to know: 1) A handful of the camp sites can accommodate up to 24 foot in length RV's and trailers pulled by a 4x4, camper vans, or trucks with campers. 2) Please reach out to us if you have additional questions about which sites would be best and why we insist on having a 4x4 pulling a trailer. 3) Also, overloaded minivans also have difficulties making it up the hill, but we can help. If that isn't enough, we are located close to many areas of interest. If you like disc golf, Trojan Park is only 8 minutes away. You can also jump in the water at a several County Parks along the mighty Columbia River which are about 10 minutes away. You can also take a dip in the picturesque Beaver Falls, a stunning 20-minute drive through the country followed by a short hike. If adventure "on the water" is more your thing, then you can always take a kayak around Scappoose Bay which is a 30-minute drive from 4D. We are offering up a few areas on our property for clean, friendly, quiet campers that want to get out of the city and enjoy some peace and quiet. We are located in Banks, Oregon. We are approximately 45 minutes west of downtown Portland. Our camping area is about 5 acres and offers something for everyone. If you have a large RV and need a safe and quiet spot to stay for the night, we got you. We have a large fire pit, Adirondak chairs, a large picnic table, and a swing set for the kids. Badminton and cornhole available on request. Family get-togethers or birthday parties are welcome! We are located just 1.5 miles from The Banks-Vernonia Trail. Bike campers are welcome! Feel free to bring along your 4-legged friends as well. We do not have a fence, so if you do not trust your dog of a leash, please keep them tied up. We have a lot of deer that pass through and untrained dogs love chasing them. Banks has a few restaurants to choose from: Subway, Dairy Queen, Main Street Pizza, Mary's Mexican Food, Hop-Cycle Brewing to name a few. There is also a Supermarket in town just in case you forgot your S'mores supplies or Spirits. We are about 20 minutes away from McMenamins Grand Lodge, in Forest Grove, which hosts some great live concerts during the summer. We have a few fishing spots within about 30 minutes of the property. Hagg lake, Horning's Hideout, Dorman's Pond and the Wilson River are all popular spots. We have clean well water and 50A electrical hookups. We do not offer dumping of black water, but you can empty your tank at the Elks club in Forest Grove (25-minute drive) for free or Camping World over in Hillsboro. I don't mind if you drain your gray water on the property as long as you use a longer hose to keep it away from the immediate camping area. The parking area for RV's is fairly level and easy to get in and out of. During the late summer we have 5 producing apple trees, 2 plum trees, and a lot of blackberries. Feel free to pick what you would like. Currently, we do not have any public bathroom facilities available for campers, so please plan accordingly. There is a public bathroom at the "Manning Trailhead" about 1.5 miles away. Please feel free to ask me any questions, we are willing to make accommodations for special situations/events if possible!

James & Patricia's Oasis

20 years ago James and Patricia purchased land that had been logged multiple time, and built a house to raise a family, and watch the forest regrow. James loves trains and this area had a logging operation in the early 1900's that included railroads, donkey engines and logging camps in the area. In the 1980's several 10 to 20 acre parcels were sold to people who wanted a piece of the country life. James and Patricia now live on one of those parcels and look forward to the next generation enjoying the country life. When James and Patricia bought the property, the previous owner had cut down most of the trees and would mow most of the land. The land was allowed to recover with alder being the first forest which replenished the soil. In a few areas scotch broom (invasive plants) took hold. Not wanting to use toxic chemicals that could leach into the water supply getting rid of scotch broom was a challenge but now there is large meadow with baby Christmas trees growing (marked by the red flags). In many other places douglas fir has planted itself along with new cedar trees. There is beautiful undergrowth that includes thimble berry, Oregon grape, candy stripe and many other wild plants. There is red huckleberry growing in various places and makes a great snack when they are ripe.Speaking of wild, there is a lot wildlife here. Several species of birds live here including family of humming birds. Sometimes you will see grouse, geese, ducks, swallows, red tail hawks, even a glimpse of a bald eagle. There are wild bunnies, gardener snakes, frogs, salamanders. If you go along the trails you might see signs of deer or coyote. There are currently 2 horses and a llama that are living in the back half of the property. Sometimes Larry the llama comes out for a visit. He is shy on not really domesticated but like all llama's curious. There are chickens that live near the garage and garden (that's why dogs must be on leash). Learn more about this land:Pitch your tent in a shady meadow next to a small pond. Enjoy the serenity and the coastal mountain breezes flowing through the tree tops. There are hiking trails through forest land. Wake in the morning to birds singing, and fall asleep to the frogs in the pond. Clear nights and you can see a lot of stars. During the right season there are blackberries, red huckleberries and thimble berries. The Banks-Vernonia Linear trail State park and LL Stub Stewart are both near this beautiful little space.

Spirit’s Grove is on 40 acres mostly natural forest. A few small streams run through the property, along the Creek and its 2 ponds, beaver dams, and busy wildlife highways. The resident horses, goats, cows and cats are all rescues that have found their way into our hearts and home, and share the spaces. We are about 20 minutes away from McMenamins Grand Lodge, in Forest Grove, which hosts some great live concerts during the summer. We have a few fishing spots within about 30 minutes of the property. Hagg lake, Horning's Hideout, Dorman's Pond and the Wilson River are all popular spots. We have clean well water and 50A electrical hookups. We do not offer dumping of black water, but you can empty your tank at the Elks club in Forest Grove (25-minute drive) for free or Camping World over in Hillsboro. I don't mind if you drain your gray water on the property as long as you use a longer hose to keep it away from the immediate camping area. The parking area for RV's is fairly level and easy to get in and out of. During the late summer we have 5 producing apple trees, 2 plum trees, and a lot of blackberries. Feel free to pick what you would like. Currently, we do not have any public bathroom facilities available for campers, so please plan accordingly. There is a public bathroom at the "Manning Trailhead" about 1.5 miles away. Please feel free to ask me any questions, we are willing to make accommodations for special situations/events if possible!

Jones beach/ Columbia river is only about a 10 minute drive, fishing and popular wind surfing spot. This property is a work in progress. We are still cleaning up from prior owners. We also have our sawmill operating on the property so you might see messes , junk, trash, ext… And you might hear working noises machine is running, etc. we try to be courteous about it but we ask that you understand that we do have to work.

James & Patricia's Oasis

20 years ago James and Patricia purchased land that had been logged multiple time, and built a house to raise a family, and watch the forest regrow. James loves trains and this area had a logging operation in the early 1900's that included railroads, donkey engines and logging camps in the area. In the 1980's several 10 to 20 acre parcels were sold to people who wanted a piece of the country life. James and Patricia now live on one of those parcels and look forward to the next generation enjoying the country life. When James and Patricia bought the property, the previous owner had cut down most of the trees and would mow most of the land. The land was allowed to recover with alder being the first forest which replenished the soil. In a few areas scotch broom (invasive plants) took hold. Not wanting to use toxic chemicals that could leach into the water supply getting rid of scotch broom was a challenge but now there is large meadow with baby Christmas trees growing (marked by the red flags). In many other places douglas fir has planted itself along with new cedar trees. There is beautiful undergrowth that includes thimble berry, Oregon grape, candy stripe and many other wild plants. There is red huckleberry growing in various places and makes a great snack when they are ripe.Speaking of wild, there is a lot wildlife here. Several species of birds live here including family of humming birds. Sometimes you will see grouse, geese, ducks, swallows, red tail hawks, even a glimpse of a bald eagle. There are wild bunnies, gardener snakes, frogs, salamanders. If you go along the trails you might see signs of deer or coyote. There are currently 2 horses and a llama that are living in the back half of the property. Sometimes Larry the llama comes out for a visit. He is shy on not really domesticated but like all llama's curious. There are chickens that live near the garage and garden (that's why dogs must be on leash). Learn more about this land:Pitch your tent in a shady meadow next to a small pond. Enjoy the serenity and the coastal mountain breezes flowing through the tree tops. There are hiking trails through forest land. Wake in the morning to birds singing, and fall asleep to the frogs in the pond. Clear nights and you can see a lot of stars. During the summer, you can take a break from the heat and relax amongst the huge ferns, Fir, Alder and Cedar trees and enjoy a variety of delicious berries found all over the property. You may also want to stretch your legs and take a leisurely walk along some of the old logging roads or give yourself a push along a forested hiking trail. Using mostly reclaimed materials, we built a stage great for entertainment (concerts, weddings, movie nights, etc... ), an outdoor event kitchen, and most importantly - the three composting outhouses strategically located to best accommodate our guest's basic needs. Important to know: 1) A handful of the camp sites can accommodate up to 24 foot in length RV's and trailers pulled by a 4x4, camper vans, or trucks with campers. 2) Please reach out to us if you have additional questions about which sites would be best and why we insist on having a 4x4 pulling a trailer. 3) Also, overloaded minivans also have difficulties making it up the hill, but we can help. If that isn't enough, we are located close to many areas of interest. If you like disc golf, Trojan Park is only 8 minutes away. You can also jump in the water at a several County Parks along the mighty Columbia River which are about 10 minutes away. You can also take a dip in the picturesque Beaver Falls, a stunning 20-minute drive through the country followed by a short hike. If adventure "on the water" is more your thing, then you can always take a kayak around Scappoose Bay which is a 30-minute drive from 4D. Spirit’s Grove is on 40 acres mostly natural forest. A few small streams run through the property, along the Creek and its 2 ponds, beaver dams, and busy wildlife highways. A Firepit, Trails, Yurt, Tents, Bunkhouse, Camping Areas and Lodge. Various Classes and Treatments are available with prior arrangements. And also just respite. The resident horses, goats, cows and cats are all rescues that have found their way into our hearts and home, and share the spaces. Within 15 minutes are some taverns and a restaurant, where you can enjoy good food and drinks. The Lodge is available for Events and Parties for separate fees. Contact us for your event needs. The over 2000sqft Retreat Center has a private Kitchen, Bar, Dining Hall, large outdoor Patio area and Gazebo. From April to October, every third Saturday is a public Firepit. Everyone is invited to attend. Bring musical instruments, prepare to talk and share stories, bring snacks, and gaze at the sky. Guided walks are available. Fires are only allowed in the Firepit and designated cooking areas.

Badminton and cornhole available on request. Family get-togethers or birthday parties are welcome! We are located just 1.5 miles from The Banks-Vernonia Trail. Bike campers are welcome! Feel free to bring along your 4-legged friends as well. We do not have a fence, so if you do not trust your dog of a leash, please keep them tied up. We have a lot of deer that pass through and untrained dogs love chasing them. Banks has a few restaurants to choose from: Subway, Dairy Queen, Main Street Pizza, Mary's Mexican Food, Hop-Cycle Brewing to name a few. There is also a Supermarket in town just in case you forgot your S'mores supplies or Spirits.
