The site can accommodate up to 30 campers, and you'll have full use of the hall and all facilities. An amazing place for large groups to hold events, and gatherings and only an hour from Melbourne. Enjoy all the area has to offer, and come back to your own paradise in the bush. Wake up to roos on the oval and enjoy a barbie with your group. Merriwoola is a property of outstanding natural beauty and offers guests a sanctuary from the world surrounded by parkland bush, mysterious boulders resting amongst the trees and numerous native animals including wombats, echidnas, kanagroos, wallabies, possums, koala and the most extraordinary birdlife. The property is defined by an ancient water course that cuts a 1km ravine through the property. During the winter the dry boulder-strewn gorge is transformed with waterfalls and cascades along its length and regardless of the season transports you to another time and place. There is limited solar power (enough for phones and laptops) and low flow water (enough to brush your teeth). Neither is guaranteed to be available. A wood stove heats the hut, boils the kettle and cooks your dinner; firewood is included. An open outdoor bathroom includes a sink, bath and drop toilet. Hot water is available but not promised. The hut is fenced and well-behaved dogs are welcome. This property is suited to resourceful guests who are familiar with lighting fires, swinging an axe and understanding rural courtesies. The abundance of wildlife is used to peace so if you are taking a dog with you then please keep it within eyesight and always under your control. Please also consider that the mobs of kangaroos that roam the property include some large bucks (boomers) that can be confrontational if surprised so please proceed with caution if approaching grazing animals.

You are welcome to walk the property and visit the farm animals during your stay (as long as you stay on the outside of paddocks/yards). The rate includes a small tour of our farm sanctuary. No amenities so campers must have own toilet and leave no trace. Dogs permitted but must be well behaved and not chase livestock (on lead). Our 5 metre bell tent has a queen bed with quality linen, electric blanket, bean bag lounge chairs, floor rugs, heater, fan, WiFi, bluetooth speaker, coffee machine, kettle with a selection of teas, mini fridge, crockery, cutlery, glassware and towels. The private bathrooom is located in our rustic house less than 50 metres away (via an independent entrance). It includes a toilet, shower (over a bath) and a vanity, with fluffy towels and essential toiletries. An à la carte vegetarian or vegan breakfast with "tent service" is included. Homecooked dinners and Devonshire teas are also available by arrangement. Guests are welcome to use our 10 metre swimming pool (in summer), chiminea and BBQ area with sweeping views of the valley below.
