Incredible central and private location, set back off the Snow Road in Oxley, Northeast Victoria, boasting natural riverplain terrain with diverse ecology, lagoons and rivers onsite. There is plenty to do in the area from wineries to walking tracks, snow fields to breweries, not to mention renowned Brown Brothers Winery and the Milawa Cheese Factory, just down the road.
There are tracks from your campsite that link to the sealed bike path which joins Wangaratta, Oxley and Milawa townships together. Then only a short walk, bike or scooter ride and you are at Miranda Winery, King River Cafe or Oxley Park (with playground and BBQ). There is also a communal swimming hole (King River) at the Stan Allen Reserve just before the Oxley Park. This is particularly great for the campsites that, although are perched on the banks of the King River, don’t have their own designated swimming hole. Also a key feature is, the irrigation during summer months keeping campsites green all year round as well as the natural lagoons to paddle in with the kayak.
If you are a keen fisherman, the King River is known for Cod and if you have booked one of the southern most sites you will be able to paddle up the river in a kayak fishing, (kayak not supplied).
There are no toilets available onsite and campers must be self-contained keeping in mind, there are toilet facilities at the Oxley Park. Pets are welcome but, must be contained within your site as there are livestock and other campers to consider.

No motorbike riding is allowed on the property but there is the opportunity for riding the fire tracks in the adjacent forest.
You can also use the property as a base for your adventure in the local region. We are located less than 15 minutes away from Moyhu where there is a fantastic cafe, pub, and shops, and Milawa, where you can enjoy the award-winning Brown Brothers winery and Milawa Cheese Company. It is also less than 30 minutes to Wangaratta, Beechworth, and Myrtleford not to mention a few minutes from the Snow road.
This site is for self-sufficient campers only. All guests must have their own toilet and all waste must be taken when departing to keep the natural beauty of the area.
We also ask that noise levels be kept to a minimum to preserve the peace of the surrounding wildlife. Well-behaved dogs must be kept under control at all times and must not interfere with the other animals. Maximum two dogs allowed. A flexible check-in/out time can be arranged upon request. Campfires are permitted in the fire pit when there are no fire restrictions. BYO wood as no firewood is to be collected off the property. Thank you

- We are only 2 and half hours from Melbourne and 30 mins off Hume Fwy, via Wangaratta. We are a working cattle farm. You cannot pat any.

Campsites 1 is large and can accommodate two vans and 2 - 3 tents (or 14 -16 people).
Campsites 2 and 3 are smaller and more suited to one van with 1 - 2 tents (or 4 - 6 people).
Campsite 3 is not very flat and less well suited to tents.
Ample car parking. Campsites are 110m apart with a light screen of trees in between, no crowds here.
Accessed via 3.5km of rough dirt track - not recommended for low vehicles or low towing vans. The track is rough BUT easily driven by all vehicles - just drive slowly.
Dogs welcome, firewood is easily gathered by you, and often in piles by your campsite.
Campsites are NOT near water. They are near a dry gully, with an **** unfenced dam.****
We have a beautiful swimming hole at the property entrance, in Boggy Creek. Guests are welcome to enjoy the shaded lawn area, BBQ and pot belly fire. The creek is 3kms from the campsites.
Near The Hut is the gate to take a walk up to Sugar Loaf (500m return), where you can see amazing grass trees and place a rock on the cairn. Look for the wallabies that live up there.
Stay with us to get away from crowded campsites, to enjoy a quieter holiday, while being close to a great tourist district.
The King Valley showcases wineries, gourmet food, eateries, restaurants, pubs, brewery, even a gin distillery. We are surrounded by creeks, rivers and lakes, with many fishing, swimming and kayaking options - all within a 30 minute drive!
Take a walk to the top of Sugar Loaf, and see unique grass trees on this rocky hill, while catching sight of Mount Buffalo.

Our family live in the recently completed straw bale house on the property, which sits well below the camping sites.

If you are a keen fisherman, the King River is known for Cod and if you have booked one of the southern most sites you will be able to paddle up the river in a kayak fishing, (kayak not supplied).
There are no toilets available onsite and campers must be self-contained keeping in mind, there are toilet facilities at the Oxley Park. Pets are welcome but, must be contained within your site as there are livestock and other campers to consider.

We also ask that noise levels be kept to a minimum to preserve the peace of the surrounding wildlife. Campsites 1 is large and can accommodate two vans and 2 - 3 tents (or 14 -16 people).
Campsites 2 and 3 are smaller and more suited to one van with 1 - 2 tents (or 4 - 6 people).
Campsite 3 is not very flat and less well suited to tents.
Ample car parking. Campsites are 110m apart with a light screen of trees in between, no crowds here.
Accessed via 3.5km of rough dirt track - not recommended for low vehicles or low towing vans. The track is rough BUT easily driven by all vehicles - just drive slowly.
Dogs welcome, firewood is easily gathered by you, and often in piles by your campsite.
Campsites are NOT near water. They are near a dry gully, with an **** unfenced dam.****
We have a beautiful swimming hole at the property entrance, in Boggy Creek. Guests are welcome to enjoy the shaded lawn area, BBQ and pot belly fire. The creek is 3kms from the campsites.
Near The Hut is the gate to take a walk up to Sugar Loaf (500m return), where you can see amazing grass trees and place a rock on the cairn. Look for the wallabies that live up there.

We really enjoyed our stay at Buffalo River Retreat. The "Far End" is a great campsite, the river was close, and a great spot to cool off and in the rapids or in the deep water just downstream.
Patrick and Ian were extremely friendly and hospitable hosts. They even brought us some fresh fruit and tomatoes from their garden.
Its a short drive to Myrtleford for supplies, or lake Buffalo for a day out on the water.

It was wonderful. I had the riverside site which had a great beach entry into the swimming hole. There was a drop toilet nearby, very clean with toilet paper available. Both Ian & Patrick dropped by to say hello and have a chat. So relaxing just to sit and watch the cows come down on the other side of the river for a drink. I loved it and would recommend it to anyone.

Awesome spot at the far end, private and flat. Spent the weekend swimming in the river (easy access ) and enjoying the scenery. Nice open spot with great toilet facilities, sink ect. Great spot to stay.

Brenda was a great host!
Absolute serene place to camp, all to ourselves and the horses were lovely natured and super friendly! Not to mention the echidna and various kangaroos we saw while staying there
Definitely just found our favourite new spot.
The outdoor shower was cool too

We had a great time camping at Alpine breeze. Plenty of room for us and out camper trailer. Our dogs had a great time with easy access straight into the dam. Kim was a great host who helped us check in and Had firewood and rubbish facilities ready for us. Would highly recommended

We had a peaceful stay here as it is a private and all to ourselves. You also have the option to either set a tent or stay on the cabin. But we enjoyed staying on the tent. We had so much fun staying here. We would highly recommend it!

Beautiful spot. Very clean clear river at your doorstep. Wonderful array of bird life. Fish can be seen swimming past and jumping . Lots of high shady trees. You get the company of some lovely cows and there young . We were fortunate to be the only campers at the time which gave us a feeling of seclusion and tranquillity which is often hard to achieve. It did make it hard to say goodbye after 10 nights. Great hosts willing to share their piece of paradise and their animals of which many are really pets. We were treated to fresh eggs,herbs and peaches very reasonable cost . Nice places to visit in the area . We would return.

The location was absolutely stunning—those views were breathtaking, and we couldn’t have asked for a more peaceful and quiet spot to unwind. The amenities were fantastic too, which made our stay so comfortable and easy. It was truly the perfect setup for our group, and everyone had such a great experience.

Had our first Hipcamp stay at High Country Paradise in Myrtleford and honestly, it was unreal. Such a beautiful spot with amazing views and heaps of space to just relax and switch off. Super peaceful and really well looked after — exactly what we needed.
Big thanks to Loretta for being such a lovely and welcoming host. You’ve got an absolute gem there!
Couldn’t have picked a better place for our first Hipcamp experience — we’ll definitely be back 🙌

We stayed at Molyullah Farm through and absolutely loved it. The property is set in the countryside, with your own private paddock surrounded by beautiful native bushland and open farmland. It felt peaceful, spacious and completely removed from everything, while still being close to plenty of little towns with lots to see and do.
There is so much wildlife around. We saw kangaroos regularly, and even had an echidna wander straight through our campsite, which felt incredibly special. It was also the first time I got to see and photograph Rosellas, which made the stay even more memorable.
The site itself was clean and private. This spot is best suited to self sufficient campers with a 4WD and an off road caravan, especially if you want to explore the surrounding area comfortably.
Brenda was wonderful. As this was our first proper off road adventure with our caravan, she was incredibly helpful and generous with her local knowledge. She offered plenty of suggestions on places to see and things to do nearby.
As you exit the property, the neighbouring farm even has a little roadside jam farm store, which was such a sweet country touch.
Dogs were welcome on lead, which was perfect for us travelling with ours.
We would absolutely come back if we are in Victoria again.
