If you are after something more energetic; we are close to some of Victoria's best 4wding. You can test your limits or simply go searching for our iconic high country huts.
During the winter, you can day trip to the snowfields. If this is not your scene you can simply enjoy the lights of Mt Buller ski resort as you sit around your campfire at night. Our area is steeped in Ned Kelly history, where you can retrace his footsteps throughout the district.

- We are only 2 and half hours from Melbourne and 30 mins off Hume Fwy, via Wangaratta. We are a working cattle farm. You cannot pat any.

Campsites 1 is large and can accommodate two vans and 2 - 3 tents (or 14 -16 people).
Campsites 2 and 3 are smaller and more suited to one van with 1 - 2 tents (or 4 - 6 people).
Campsite 3 is not very flat and less well suited to tents.
Ample car parking. Campsites are 110m apart with a light screen of trees in between, no crowds here.
Accessed via 3.5km of rough dirt track - not recommended for low vehicles or low towing vans. The track is rough BUT easily driven by all vehicles - just drive slowly.
Dogs welcome, firewood is easily gathered by you, and often in piles by your campsite.
Campsites are NOT near water. They are near a dry gully, with an **** unfenced dam.****
We have a beautiful swimming hole at the property entrance, in Boggy Creek. Guests are welcome to enjoy the shaded lawn area, BBQ and pot belly fire. The creek is 3kms from the campsites.
Near The Hut is the gate to take a walk up to Sugar Loaf (500m return), where you can see amazing grass trees and place a rock on the cairn. Look for the wallabies that live up there.
Stay with us to get away from crowded campsites, to enjoy a quieter holiday, while being close to a great tourist district.
The King Valley showcases wineries, gourmet food, eateries, restaurants, pubs, brewery, even a gin distillery. We are surrounded by creeks, rivers and lakes, with many fishing, swimming and kayaking options - all within a 30 minute drive!
Take a walk to the top of Sugar Loaf, and see unique grass trees on this rocky hill, while catching sight of Mount Buffalo.
8kms to Moyhu which has a pub, coffee shop, general store - all with great food options. You can get petrol, take away, gas etc.

Despite all the region has to offer, guests may not want to leave the Moodemere Lake House. The day can be whiled away right on your doorstep. From the deck you may spend the morning watching for platypus. There are over 100 species of birds, including eagles, swans and pelicans. Native wildlife such as echidnas and kangaroos are regular visitors. A short walk along the bank of Lake Moodemere and the vineyard leads to the cellar door where guests may enjoy a relaxed lunch and private wine tasting. At dusk light up the fire pit and experience the spectacular sunset over Lake Moodemere.
A walk around Lake Moodemere, and along the Murray River will take around two hours and provide many memorable, unique, and beautiful sights. The track is also suitable for cyclists and horses. Amazing property and very well organized. Amenities were a bonus and the best I have seen in such a rural place. Ginnie was lovely, welcoming and had us all setup at the corner camp. We loved camping at Nillawarre Woodland camp site, Ginnie and Gary were very welcoming hosts.
Our site was a very peaceful flat area beside the dam with trees providing shade in the afternoon, the views all around were stunning.The ammenities comprising of showers, flushing toilets and camp kitchen were a short 3-4 minute walk from the site.
The property backs onto the Mt Samaria State park so the location is perfect for exploring this park and lake Nillahcootie is only about 20 minutes away.
With plenty of room to stretch the legs and explore we would definately like to come back in the future.

Mill Site 2 was really peaceful and tranquil. The kangaroos and birds, distant rooster and the delightful Highland cows made our stay special.
We came in from Whitfield so different directions to the app. Road was a bit rough for our motorhome but we managed.
There is a rustic toilet at each camp site - cassette toilet and generously supplied with toilet paper - we were self contained so didn't use the one on our site. (Prob could have been a bit cleaner).
The campers at Mill Site 1 were close by. There was another lot of campers at the lower campsite. It's a fairly open area but everyone was respectful.
I think we had the best spot 😊
There was no communication from the hosts.
We would love to come back midweek and hope to be the only ones here. Imagine the tranquility and freedom of space - we loved our stay.

We had a really great stay - beautiful camp spot amongst the pine trees with nice level ground and perfect soil for putting a tent peg in. The composting toilet was well looked after and the visit to watch the goats getting milked was a highlight for the kids. Fantastic place to camp!

What a fantastic campsite David has set up for his guests. Flat, shady with lots to explore. The compost toilets were a welcome bonus. Easy travel to Benalla and Europa. Our large group loved it - kids loved riding around for hours. Highly recommended!

If you want to camp away from the crowds in a beautiful spot Thornbridge is the place to go. Large spacious sites, located a good distance away from each other, with a clean toilet at the top of the slope, with water and large sink with running water in case you need it.
A 3.5 km dirt track leads you round the hill to this secluded location. We spent a very happy two nights here, cooking over the campfire and gazing up at the Milky Way. Just perfect!
