... Hi there and welcome to our home, Penzance! We fell in love with our slice of heaven in 2010 and adore every back breaking inch of it. It was an over grown mess at the time, covered in broken bricks and beer cans. We've tried to keep the bush aspect while creating a park like surround with plenty of grassy space. We have big plans for our land and hope to build a steam museum in our other area over the creek. Excitingly, we will also be establishing a blacksmiths forge in that area, which was moved piece by piece from an historic farm at Avoca. Chris is an engineer, antique restorer and artisan working from home. I am an actor and artist working in metal, clay and paint. I'm inspired by my flower garden and the bush that frames it. We offer one site so privacy is assured. Larger groups can be accommodated, please enquire if you'd like to learn more. We look forward to welcoming you to Penzance.

Green, tranquil and picturesque. Kangaroos, wallabies, kookaburras and koalas often emerge from the rainforest of the Great Otway National Park near the campsites. You can swim or kayak in the unfenced dam, which is fed by a mountain spring on our 200-acre property. But please be aware that the unfenced dam is a drowning hazard for children, so we don't accept bookings that include children under 10 for public liability reasons. We've limited the number of campsites to 2 in an area that could host 200! If you would like even more seclusion, then you are welcome to book both sites so you can talk, drink and play music as late as you like, without having to consider another group of campers. This is a totally different holiday experience to a crowded beach resort, caravan park or public camping ground. It's like a hideaway in the hills. Each site has a flushing toilet (septic system). Campfires are permitted outside the district-wide fire restrictions that apply from late November to early May. Fortunately, gas or electric barbecues and stoves are permitted all year round, unless specific days are declared as total fire ban days. Please note that wood-fired barbecues or burners, even if enclosed and fitted with a chimney, still present a spark/ember hazard so are not permitted across summer. When campfires are permitted, guests can cut and gather their own wood from deadwood lying near the campsites or bring their own. Or you can buy sacks of cut and split firewood from your hosts on request. BYO newspaper and matches. Camping trailers and campervans work better on the sites than large caravans or motorhomes, especially after heavy rain. The sites are on slight inclines, so levellers can be useful. No pets please due to livestock in nearby paddocks. No parties please.

With 1.4km of Moorabool River frontage, rolling vineyard views, and abundant wildlife, it’s the perfect escape for nature lovers. The property has a rich history, with a vineyard active for over 25 years. We’re now converting it into a luxury accommodation and wedding venue. What’s here now: 1) Spacious unpowered campsites (flat, easy access, space for 10+ vans) 2) Shower block with two toilets and a simple, clean river-fed shower, a 300 meter walk from campsites. 3) River activities: swimming spots (including one with a slide), canoes, and wading in the shallows of the weir. 4) Large communal fire pit as well as small fire pits, a BBQ and a large bench that can seat 20 people. Things to know: Children are welcome, but please take care around the river and bring gumboots please if children will go walking through the farm as snakes are present in the warmer months. As we’re in a valley, sound travels—please keep music at a considerate level. Unfortunately we cannot have other pets here as we have 2 very friendly golden retrievers on the property. They are likely to pop down and say hello 😊 Nearby, you’ll find some of the region’s best wineries, including Lethbridge Wines, Austins Winery, and Clyde Park—perfect for a meal and a glass of wine. Whether you’re here for a quiet riverside campfire, a swim, or to explore the surrounding vineyards, Moorabool Ridge offers a unique blend of history, nature, and country hospitality.
