(unpatrolled surf beach).
Romantic sunsets with no one but the odd seal and sounds of the waves to disturb you.
Beach fire at night is something special to do.
The beach track is across from the front gate, there is no beach sign from the road because the public will then use the track which is only for Hipcampers and you wont enjoy the deserted beach. Call me if you cant find the track, but most people have not had a problem. This walking access is steep, easier tracks can be driven to down the road.
Or take a dip in the river further down the road, and explore the waterways,
with many birds; black swans in the lakes next to camp, plus kangaroos, wombats, emu and deer.
There is a boat ramp just down the road to explore the river system.
Perfect for water sports, and with fish cleaning tables at the wharf.
Go by boat to the Marlo Hotel from the
wharf straight over the river.
Orbost is 15 minutes drive and has a supermarket, hotel, bottle shop and other conveniences.
We are open to accepting larger group bookings, but please discuss this with us first.

and exploring the High Country (4-5 hour round trip).
- Visit the Buchan Caves about an hour into the High Country - they are amazing.

Only a 5 minute walk to the NOWA NOWA GENERAL STORE/Post Office. You can get local fishing information from the friendly staff, stock up on fuel, great coffee and groceries, wine/beer, fishing tackle, bait, fire wood and more without having to drive!
Only a 5 minute walk to Mingling Waters which has transformed its cafe into a rustic bar housing Jack Ramsdells iconic wooden sculptures and showcasing the history of Nowa Nowa in wall murals.

The beach track is across from the front gate, there is no beach sign from the road because the public will then use the track which is only for Hipcampers and you wont enjoy the deserted beach. Call me if you cant find the track, but most people have not had a problem. This walking access is steep, easier tracks can be driven to down the road.
Or take a dip in the river further down the road, and explore the waterways,
with many birds; black swans in the lakes next to camp, plus kangaroos, wombats, emu and deer.
There is a boat ramp just down the road to explore the river system.
Perfect for water sports, and with fish cleaning tables at the wharf.
Go by boat to the Marlo Hotel from the
wharf straight over the river.
Orbost is 15 minutes drive and has a supermarket, hotel, bottle shop and other conveniences.
We are open to accepting larger group bookings, but please discuss this with us first.

I have just returned from spending two peaceful nights tent camping at Milleara Gardens. From the moment I arrived I could see that it would be a great stay. The gardens are kept immaculately and the camping areas are well-signed, neatly mowed and there's plenty of space. The owner, Helen, swung by to say hello a few minutes after I arrived and we had a good chat about the terrible bushfires affecting much of Victoria. Although I came prepared to be fully self-contained, Helen offered the use of a porta-loo for a small additional charge, which I gladly accepted. I highly recommend Milleara Gardens and will definitely be making a return visit in the near future.

Our first experience together with my husband. We had never been camping since we were in Australia. We are from Colombia 🇨🇴 and we wanted to feel the nature that will remind us of our beautiful land. And we found here the ideal place, quiet, calm, we were lucky that it was not occupied; which we loved because we were looking for privacy. Helen was a wonderful, attentive and helpful host. We had a great 10 day stay here. Hosts were friendly and welcoming. We used this hipcamp as a base for some day trips, the caves, lakes, raymond island and marlo but it was also lovely for chill days. General store with public toilets, mingling waters for food, the bike track. Pur first time hvaing grapefruit and fresh fsrm eggs! We all really enjoyed our time here, thank you Mike and Trudie.

We absolutely loved this camping spot. We had it all to ourselves, which is rare these days. The river was lovely too, perfect for cooling off in the hot weather.

What a lovely place. Trent is such a friendly and helpful host. It was a well-kept property with our site being a lovely grassed area, which was recently mown/slashed; and had direct access to the river; which all helped to give us a peaceful and restful stay. We also loved having the friendly alpacas on the property.

We stated at this property over night on our way from Melbourne to Merimbula, and it was a beautiful spot. Very few sites, with a large space between them.
We woke up to plenty of kookaburra's and some kangaroo's on the hillside. Would definitely stay again if we were down that way.
