The Property is situated on the pristine Wallagaraugh river near the Victorian and New South Wales border, 8km down an all weather dirt road, easily accessible for caravaners and boaters and is approximately 45 km from Eden and 40 km from Mallacoota by car, very isolated but has limited phone and internet reception, 15 minutes down river Gypsy Point, another 20 minutes your at Mallacoota on the coast if you need fuel, supplies, etc, 5 to 10 minutes up river the bullring , proceeding with caution you will go through a temperate rainforest and end up at the rock wall with small waterfalls and fresh water pools. A haven for many species of birds and wildlife, sea and wedge tail eagles nesting close by a bird watchers and canoeists paradise, also many species of fish so if you want to wet a line a Victorian fishing licence is needed, the river has a 5 knot speed limit from the campsite to Gypsy Point, if your more into bushwalking or sightseeing there are several national parks within a 30 minute drive or boat trip, or just have a swim, chill, relax and enjoy the peace and serenity. one site has small tinny access to the river and the other is good for a 20 ft boat, can accommodate up to 10 at one site and 5 at the other, camping and fires are only allowed in designated areas, bring your own firewood or it can be supplied for $25 per wheelbarrow when booking in, at both sites you cannot have fires or camp in fenced off river frontage, you will have to provide your own camp toilet, shower, etc and take all waste away when you leave, I can arrange if needed by prior notice, bulk firewood, launching of boat, etc. No firewood collection, motorbike riding, shooting or 4x4ing on site, some pets on leash may be allowed by prior arrangement, if having trouble booking or any other inquiries please send message cheers John.

It’s a great track and on occasions I take people up for a guided tour and secret camp spots on my yearly run up there for my own relax time. We loved our stay at Leanne’s. The views over the wetlands were unreal, our spot was tucked away so it felt really private and Leanne was really welcoming and brought us everything we would need to get the fire pit going. It was great seeing her beautiful cows grazing and kangaroos on the horizon. There is a block with a toilet and shower in which is a bit of a walk away from the camping spot. It didn’t matter to us that it was a bit of a walk but something to bear in mind if anyone has accessibility concerns. It was one of the highlights of our trip and we would definitely recommend!

Had a fabulous long weekend. The site was large and by the river which was very relaxing. There was a great sized firepit where we enjoyed evening fires. Lisa and Bernie are great hosts. We did a couple of trips into Walhalla and had a great meal at the Erica pub.

If you want to get away from the maddening crowd and completely turn off from your tech, this is the spot. Immersing myself in the isolation, the only sounds coming from nature and being able to sit by the rushing river or sit on the loo while looking at the bush, gave me the most alive feeling. The spot is perfect with the cleared circle and excellent fire pit all bringing such a sense of peace. Even heard a lyrebird go through its paces.

Big, beautiful sites with enormous spaces (forest/hills) between sites so you have complete privacy from other campers. Cleanest pit toilet I’ve ever seen, with a view worth $$$$. Big fire pits and generous supply of firewood if you choose to purchase it. This place was everything I hoped it would be and the super friendly hosts just topped it off

Plenty of space at Cooper's Corner (bridge). We could here the sound of the creek flowing, almost therapeutic some what? Magnificent bird life at this hipcamp. Certainly worth the trip and what wonderful stay. Totally recommend camping at Hazelnut Valley Farm Stay.

Great location and well laid out with power and water connections. The property was very easy to access towing my 25ft van. Close to Bairnsdale and the lakes around East Gippsland. Peter was a great communicator and everything was as described. Highly recommend.

4 nights at Serenity Hill Camp Grounds

We had an absolute relaxing time on Site 3 in our caravan for four nights. Fire wood was delivered to our site so we could enjoy a “toasty” night by our camp fire. Our dog enjoyed the space for ball play, bush walks and spending quality time soaking up the sun. We befriended a couple of King Parrots, bird seeds and peanuts were their morning treats. The “composting toilets” are immaculate with absolutely no smell and no bugs and regularly maintained by Rick. There are 5 decent sized sites, each with their own character. Our site was perfect for a drive through, still enough sun to charge our battery yet shady against the afternoon sun. Plenty of wombat burrows around the property, bounding wallabies and grey kangaroos were seen during our walk. Found an old cemetery with two headstones dating from late 1800’s to early 1900’s with interesting historical commemoration for a Boer War digger. Virginia and Rick are very accommodating and even offered us potable water from their home if required. There is a rain water tank next to the toilets that can be used for washing. There is a massive BMX track for enthusiasts, slightly overgrown but still a lot of fun for the kids regardless. We loved our set up, the sights of the rolling hills, a variety of bird life and some massive but old twisted gums on the property and the occasional morning visit of sheep from neighbouring farms. We will definitely be going back, can’t believe how quiet it is and how bright the stars are.

We had a great stay at site 4! Pretty views, nice and open and reasonably close to the pump track to keep an eye on the kids. We wanted privacy from other campers and site 4 provided that (apart from ppl visiting the toilets from time to time which didn’t bother us as it was a while away). Toilets are as everyone says - completely odourless and kept nice and clean by the hosts. Perhaps a tad expensive once you add in kids and extra guests but it seems you pay for privacy! We’d come back again - thanks Virginia!

Weekend Trip to Hazelnut Valley Farm Stay

Lovely hosts that were responsive and helpful, nice flat site large enough for 3 families and 2 dogs to spread out on and plenty of space for games. Right by a creek, dropped in the yabby net and caught some very large crays. It was a full house for the long weekend, but everyone was spread out far enough we barely heard a peep. Track to get to property in fairly good condition even after a days worth of non stop rain.

Weekend Trip to Hedley Gardens and Bush Camp

Son and I spent 2 nights, lots of green grass and surrounded by tall trees. Farmland on one side and tree line on other makes for lots of serenity. Host was very friendly and provided firewood, drinking water, and had shower and toilet available. Close to Port Welshpool for fishing.
