Here you will find a nice open space amongst the gum trees with drinking water, toilet, and outdoor shower. rubbish/recycling bins and access to wifi if needed. Relax under the stars with a warm fire in a secluded spot in the middle of open space and the fresh air. The property is fenced off, so you can feel safe and secure. You can relax and let the kids can run around knowing they are safe inside the camp ground. There are five dogs who live here. They are all friendly and love people. Especially Daz who will be your best friend while you stay here. If you don't like dogs you probably shouldn't stay here as Daz loves people. Only minutes from town where you will find supplies, close to the local swimming pool and 10 minutes from a popular watering hole. Enjoy all that Bendigo and surrounding areas have to offer, check out the historic gold mining attractions and come home to rest in a tranquil setting amongst the trees, the birds and the stars. Bendigo itself features some fantastic heritage architecture and a creative community. It has a huge hall, kitchen, toilets and showers, and a huge oval. It even has a little lounge area. The oval is the same dimensions AS THE MCG! The site can accommodate up to 30 campers, and you'll have full use of the hall and all facilities. An amazing place for large groups to hold events, and gatherings and only an hour from Melbourne. Enjoy all the area has to offer, and come back to your own paradise in the bush. Wake up to roos on the oval and enjoy a barbie with your group. We are located within easy driving distance of Greens lake and the Waranga basin for fishing, boating and swimming activities and only 15km from Rushworth and the historic Whroo township. A 40 acre bush block with a Trust for Nature Covenant. This box-ironbark woodland block has 2 dams and plenty of wildlife, a great place for bird watching. A self guided nature walk on the property provides you with an introduction to the local ecosystem. There is also a bird list for the property along with photos and descriptions of some of these birds. There is a makeshift bird hide and binoculars that you can borrow. The hut has a double bed (bedding provided), undercover of the veranda is a gas stove with two burners and a grill, outside a long drop toilet, water tank (not drinkable) but drinkable water will be provided. The hut is close to one of the dams. Only one booking at a time so you won’t be sharing camping site with anyone. Owners live on the property but out of view and ear shot. A picnic set, kettle, camp stove and saucepans available for use. Solar lights inside, internal wood heater outside fire pit. An outdoor camp shower and a composting toilet is located near hut. Basic amount of wood provided for internal heater and cost $10 milk crate of wood for external fire pit, a crate should last a couple of hours. A guided 90 minute star gazing experience using 500mm diameter telescope is offered for $50/session to guests of the antechinus hut. Depending on the time of year you will see galaxies, nebulae, star clusters and planets. This is only offered when conditions allow, clear skies and minimal moon. Note this activity involves use of step ladder due to size of telescope. There is also solar astronomy, view viewing the sun through hydrogen alpha telescope. $30 for 30 minutes. There are great bike rides off and on road, close to Cairn Curran (15km) for fishing and kayaking, also plenty of bushwalks and bird watching sites nearby. Newstead 5km away whilst Daylesford, Maldon and Castlemaine are about 25km away.

The hut has a double bed (bedding provided), undercover of the veranda is a gas stove with two burners and a grill, outside a long drop toilet, water tank (not drinkable) but drinkable water will be provided. The hut is close to one of the dams. Only one booking at a time so you won’t be sharing camping site with anyone. Owners live on the property but out of view and ear shot. A picnic set, kettle, camp stove and saucepans available for use. Solar lights inside, internal wood heater outside fire pit. An outdoor camp shower and a composting toilet is located near hut. Basic amount of wood provided for internal heater and cost $10 milk crate of wood for external fire pit, a crate should last a couple of hours. A guided 90 minute star gazing experience using 500mm diameter telescope is offered for $50/session to guests of the antechinus hut. Depending on the time of year you will see galaxies, nebulae, star clusters and planets. This is only offered when conditions allow, clear skies and minimal moon. Note this activity involves use of step ladder due to size of telescope. There is also solar astronomy, view viewing the sun through hydrogen alpha telescope. $30 for 30 minutes. There are great bike rides off and on road, close to Cairn Curran (15km) for fishing and kayaking, also plenty of bushwalks and bird watching sites nearby. Medieval Cottage Retreat on Djaara Country Escape to another realm in this medieval cottage on Djaara Country, lovingly built using traditional techniques by renowned local craftsman Rob Hadden. Set in a tranquil 2.5-acre valley among willows, oaks, and roses beside a miniature lake, the property also includes another 2.5 acres of bushland teeming with kangaroos, birdlife, and wildflowers. Let the frogs sing you to sleep and wake to the chorus of morning birdsong. This eco-retreat is furnished with natural materials, and breakfast foods of wholesome local provenance are provided. Located near Castlemaine, an area brimming with farmers markets, bars, live music, cafés, vintage shops, artisan food producers, and a landscape rich in historical significance. Mountain bike trails, galleries, and parks are also close by for you to explore. Inside, the cottage features a high vaulted cathedral ceiling with massive timber beams and a spiral staircase leading to the minstrel’s gallery and sleeping chamber with a queen size bed. The kitchen is equipped with a toaster, electric kettle, induction hotplates, and fridge, and you’ll be provided with fresh, quality local ingredients for breakfast. The bathroom includes a shower, toilet, and hand basin, with all linen provided. Outdoors, a wrought-iron table on the lawn overlooks the water — a perfect spot for morning tea or an evening glass of wine. Please note: no pets are allowed due to sensitive wildlife. Guests are required to take all rubbish home, as there is no council collection at this property. Unfortunately, the cottage is not wheelchair accessible — it is truly medieval in that regard.

Excellent spot!!! So close to Bendigo but far enough away for it to be peaceful and rural. Plenty of room, amenities were spotless, and the extra visitors (dogs) were a welcomed nightly addition. Defintiely recommend for anyone wanting a relaxing camp. Thanks Chrissy 😊

We had the most amazing stay here! Our children absolutely loved it. The animals were a huge highlight and kept them smiling the whole time. The property is beautiful, peaceful and full of character. Chrissy is one in a million… incredibly warm, thoughtful and such a wonderful host. We originally booked for 4 nights but loved it so much we stayed an extra night! We felt so welcomed and cared for the entire time. Couldn’t recommend this place more. We’ll definitely be back again!

Weekend Trip to Whip Stick Forest
We absolutely loved our stay. The toilets and showers were very clean, and the hosts were on site, always helpful when needed without being intrusive. The environment was quiet and calm perfect for a relaxing break. Other sites were nearby, but it was not loud at all. Everything was on point for a proper chill time. It’s close to the city, and the lovely dogs and cats kept their distance. We really enjoyed the site and would happily recommend it to future Hipcampers.

What a special experience at Susan’s place. The bath is spectacular!!!! Susan has thought of every detail. Plates, glassware, tea and coffee - it all made the glamping very glamorous! Great place for a big group. There is an oval for kids and adults to play. There is a kitchen, a room, ladies and men's bathrooms and a big hall with cooling and heating. We have been here twice and likely will comeback.

The best Hipcamps experience we've had. The hosts are very welcoming and have a beautiful block of land where everything has been thoughtfully set up to provide all you need for a peaceful, private and interesting escape from the city. Had an amazing stay at this beautiful hut. Megan and Patrick are so welcoming and helpful to walk me through everything I need to know upon arrival, and are super responsive to messages/requests. It's very peaceful and safe surroundings with some walking trails to explore. Inside the hub felt everything was well prepared and I didn't need to bring much extra stuff myself except for food and clothes. Besides, I do recommend having a mosquito repellent handy when outside or near the veranda. Overall I'm so happy that I booked this trip, highly recommending it and I will be coming back :)

An absolutely beautiful and well-kept property. Lancefield Lakes offers stunning views in a peaceful, tranquil setting—perfect for switching off and enjoying nature. The facilities are excellent and clearly well maintained, which really enhances the overall experience. Jemillia was a fantastic host—welcoming, helpful, and genuinely invested in making sure guests have a great stay. Aaron, who is involved in managing the property, was also excellent to deal with and very responsive whenever assistance was needed. Highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a relaxing escape with great amenities and thoughtful hosts. We’ll definitely be back.

The 2WD-accessible camping spot facing the dam is easy to reach. With only one campsite available, it's nice knowing you won’t have other groups right next to you. We didn’t get to use the canoe, but it’s there for guests to enjoy. You’ll definitely experience some wildlife during your stay. We had a very busy but respectful kookaburra keeping us company the whole time, and plenty of happy wallabies and kangaroos hopping around. In warmer weather, if you go for a bushwalk, be mindful of snakes, and you may also see flying termites arriving at sunset. Karen and David were very welcoming. Lalgambook Retreat is the perfect spot to enjoy a true camping experience while still having easy access to a hot shower and a clean flushable toilet just a short walk away.
