Pitch your completely self-sufficient sleeping quarters on our peaceful, flat, 7 acre property which backs onto the Bald Hill Nature Reserve and is less than five minutes drive from Kyneton’s historic Piper Street which is full of delightful restaurants and cafes.
Take under an hour to drive up and explore beautiful Bendigo, experience delightful Daylesford nearby and meander around the wonderful wineries of the Macedon Ranges.
Campfires are allowed subject to local fire restrictions and must be fully extinguished before you turn in for the night. Please search for the CFA website 'Fire Danger Period: Can I or Can't I?' which has all of the appropriate information. Each site has a fire pit which you can use providing it is not a total fire ban.
Firewood is available at a cost to you of $50 per wheelbarrow load which will easily cover two nights.
We have four separate camping locations on the property; you can easily have up to four RVs on sites 1, 2 and 4 and two on site 3. We have tried to ensure privacy for each location but you may be able to see other guests and/or the house through the many trees.
Please be aware that there are two dams on the property so children should supervised at all times. My own children swim in the dam and there is a kayak available but lifejackets must be worn by children in, around and on the water to minimise risk.
Pets are welcome. The kangaroos may prove quite enticing for some pets and as such we recommend dogs be kept on their leash. Site 4 has ringlock fencing and farm gates which can be helpful to contain your pets.
Please be aware that the Kyneton Gun Club has their monthly clay target shoot on the 3rd Sunday of each month (2nd Sunday in December) from 11am until 5pm during which time you will hear them clay pigeon shooting.
We are NOT a commercial campsite and, as such, you must be fully self-contained for power, water, showers, sewage, refuse disposal, etc.
Guests under the age of 25 must be accompanied by their parents.

This is lovely quiet, open bushland block, close to Newstead and Castlemaine. Cairn Curran Reservoir is only a few kilometres away.
Pitch a tent or drive your van in. The amazing little shack onsite offers gas cooking facilities and a sofa so you can relax in front of the beautiful little fireplace.
There are great opportunities for taking leisurely walks or rides along the gravel roads surrounding the property. What makes this property special is the awesome shack which can be used for cooking and relaxing.
It also has dam and incredible variety of birds, so it is a birdwatching mecca.
A shower and portable toilet is available onsite.
Water safety note: A dam exists within the property and is located close to the camping area. The dam does not have exclusion fencing and may be a hazard to some. This should be considered prior to booking, particularly if you have young children.

Nestled in the picturesque Macedon Ranges, an easy drive from Melbourne, our property Taloumbi is set on 10 acres of unique bushland populated with native grasses, ancient grass trees, indigenous wildflowers, wattles and eucalypts. Guests can look out for kangaroos, wallabies, koalas and echidnas, whilst relaxing in the comfort of our cosy boho bell tent.
Our 5 metre bell tent has a queen bed with quality linen, electric blanket, bean bag lounge chairs, floor rugs, heater, fan, WiFi, bluetooth speaker, coffee machine, kettle with a selection of teas, mini fridge, crockery, cutlery, glassware and towels. The private bathrooom is located in our rustic house less than 50 metres away (via an independent entrance). It includes a toilet, shower (over a bath) and a vanity, with fluffy towels and essential toiletries.
An à la carte vegetarian or vegan breakfast with "tent service" is included. Homecooked dinners and Devonshire teas are also available by arrangement.
Guests are welcome to use our 10 metre swimming pool (in summer), chiminea and BBQ area with sweeping views of the valley below.

This place is absolute magic! We will 100% be coming back. We didn't know Lancefield before but have always loved visiting Kyneton, Woodend and Daylesford which are close by.
The sites were so good - plenty of space, firewood and the lakeside view is perfection.
The shower and toilets were excellently maintained too.
The eggs there are worth getting - so delicious. Hopefully next time we'll be able to get some honey.
Jemilia was such a helpful and responsive host whenever we sent a query and Aaron the farm manager was an absolute champion.
loads of local wildlife around - we spotted a wombat, echidna and loads of kangaroos whilst there and the bird choir was something special at sunset.
Our 10 YO took his bike and loved all the trails around the campsite so take bikes if that's your thing!
Oh and if you like a local beer, highly recommend the Lost Watering Hole.

The price is too cheap for the size of the land and the fact it has both power and water on site included
As everyone says Clara’s sourdough and eggs are delicious
Drop toilet - amazing
I have already recommended this place to 2 friends - will let camping people know at work too

The campsite was good. Ground on a slight slope but enough flattish areas to pitch tents. Great set up with large Gazebo fitted out with lights, battery charger, projector screen, tables and chairs, BBQ. Great fire pits both big and small where we toasted marshmallows. Lovely billabong to sit by in the shade. The host Michael was fantastic with responding to messages and gave clear instructions to site. Close to Melbourne yet felt far away. Dog and kids had fun. Definitely recommend.

I loved the camping experience here. The best part was the view—the spot right in front of the water dam was beautiful. The campsite was set up really well for campers, and the kayaking experience in the dam was amazing, especially since the kayaks were left there for campers to enjoy.
The kids had a great time. We were initially worried about toilets and water, but luckily there was a good toilet just two minutes away from the spot, so we didn’t have any issues during our stay. Overall, this is one of the best camping spots we’ve experienced so far.

Beautiful location, few minutes drive to beach, beautiful walk to beach though with a 2 yo was a bit far on our walk back, overall was quite, great space between camps, my dogs loved the green grass and enjoyed christmas trees on christmas morning. St leonards beach front 5 mins drive, portarlington beach front 5 mins also. Very beautiful spot close to everything.

Damian and Ali are superb hosts. Damian and Ali are courteous as you are welcomed when you arrive. They are also very respectful that you are left alone. The camping area is great. Damian makes sure the grassed areas are perfect. You are 500 meters walking distance from the beach. You can watch the amazing Pelicans or watch the Spirit of Tasmania zoom across the waters. The camping area is tranquil and there is a lot of different bird activity above. We normally go to remote outback but our two cavoodles are not a fan of doing that. We can honestly say that our dogs loved this type of camping. You are just a car ride from shops, cafes and pubs. I would highly recommend staying here. We stayed 4 nights and we could have stayed longer but we had to get home to family for Christmas.

An absolutely beautiful and well-kept property. Lancefield Lakes offers stunning views in a peaceful, tranquil setting—perfect for switching off and enjoying nature. The facilities are excellent and clearly well maintained, which really enhances the overall experience.
Jemillia was a fantastic host—welcoming, helpful, and genuinely invested in making sure guests have a great stay. Aaron, who is involved in managing the property, was also excellent to deal with and very responsive whenever assistance was needed.
Highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a relaxing escape with great amenities and thoughtful hosts. We’ll definitely be back.
