i only stayed one night in the yurt, but i wish i had stayed more! this is such a beautiful place, the yurt is soo cute and cozy and very well maintained! annie is a lovely lady and a great host! i would highly recommend staying a night or two here if you have the opportunity!

Thoroughly enjoyed our 2 nights here. Cosy & protected. Great fire - wood supplied. Which was perfect as it was rainy & cold outside. Allan was easy to communicate with & super helpful when there was a alight hiccup with the Hipcamp portal. Must have your own toilet - there are public amenities not far (8-10min walk) at the surf club if you prefer. Loved the private outdoor hot shower. Sink, fridge &power. Was a great treat to extend out of our little caravan into our timber retreat Bird life & little bandicoots - there was even an elephant seal at Clifton Beach visiting !

This place is fantastic, easy to pull in with the big caravan. The setup is very private and the cabin and fireplace was very homely. Much more then just a caravan site! We will be back for sure.

Beautiful spot to camp up for a few nights! Such a little luxury to have the shed and fireplace at our convenience. Worth noting that the main house is relatively close to the campsite so not as secluded as we thought nonetheless we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

6 nights at Quoll Hideaway - Bruny Island Bush & Beach camping

Nice quite bush block. Lots of friendly quolls, bandicoots, wallabies and birds sharing our camp site. We where there on a busy weekend (Anzac day long weekend) so it was nice to be at our own private camp-site (as the all the popular attractions on the island where packed!) We had no problems setting up our 22ft caravan on the levelled caravan site provided. Yes it is a wee bit tight getting in and out but we had no issues with this. Its only a short walk to Apollo Bay from the camp, which has a nice little beach area, seating and camp fire BBQ which we also had to ourselves for the week. Lindas communication was excellent. I highly recommend for anyone who preferes there own space (vs a busy caravan park)

Weekend Trip to Numie Tasmania

Numie was so beautifully peaceful and quiet - the whole place is gorgeous, with amazing views and very cosy touches to make you feel very welcome. The bed is so amazingly comfy! And waking up to the birdsong was a real treat. Everything is very thoughtfully planned so you can just arrive and relax!

The Clifton Beach/ South Arm are is an incredible place but with real limited camping options. Allan and Lyns place was a refreshing option. The hut gave a bit of room to spread out and the deck was great compared to what we are use to Only a 10 minute walk to Clifton Beach and central to some great hiking options. There property is well maintained and privacy ensured Thank you both for being such great hosts

1 night at Craigie Knowe Vineyard

We loved getting the opportunity to stay in the vineyard in our Self Contained RV. We enjoyed waking up to a beautiful sunrise on this property. It was entertaining watching the sheep in the morning getting out of the gate and then the farmers coming to round them up as a taste of what a working farm is like. The vineyards were spectacular with the most grapes we have ever seen on the branches! We wish we could have spent more time to enjoy the winery and restaurant but that gives us more of a reason to come back to visit!

3 nights at Sheepwash Rd Camp, South Bruny

Karen’s property is beautiful. It looks down on the famous Bread frigs and we were amazed at how many people stopped for bread and/or photos! You must be self contained to stay here and fires are allowed. Karen was easy to communicate with and we’ll happily return when next on Bruny.

Love the setup . Plenty of space .. lovely guest and the restaurant is delicious and only 5 min walk away from the camping site

2 nights at Bohemian Beach Retreat Tiny House

We loved it!! So private, and Falmouth is an absolute treasure of a spot. Hosts were absolutely lovely - generous, thoughtful, communication was clear and concise. 'Boho' was clean, warm and so well thought out. The extra little things like the fire being set, and then covered with plastic (it was raining when we arrived), so the wood was not wet and easy to light that set our hosts apart. Thankyou so much Mike and Sheena for sharing with us.

Thanks Glenn, another great stay at Craigie Knowe! Perfect spot to set up base and visit the local wineries, day trips to Bicheno, Coles Bay and beyond. Grass was much shorter than last time which made for a pleasant experience. Thanks again and we will be back again for sure

The place was what we expected, nice clean facilities able to get out of weather and keep warm with combustion heater as we went kite surfing at the beach the shower was a nice relief when wet and cold.

What an amazing place to stay!! Plenty of room and places to explore. Big fire pot included and even a pile of wood!! Big area to camp and you get it all to yourself. Will definitely be back to explore more of the island 💁‍♀️💁‍♀️

Weekend Trip to Deep Glen Coastal Campsite

Perfectly placed campground on the Tasman Peninsula, just above Pirates Bay. What we loved most was the two camp sites had plenty of space, and we didn't feel like we were crowded in. Easy access to each site, long drop toilet available, and a lovely area to explore. Cubed (retro coffee van) is a short walk away for a lazy start to Saturday and Sunday mornings. The 'best bang for buck' bushwalk to Waterfall Bluff is an easy 10 minute drive, and thoroughly recommended. We took our own firewood however the hosts can arrange this if you don't have your own supply. We fell asleep each night to the distant roar of waves, with the occasional hoot-hoot of an owl. Other visiting night-life included pademelons and bandicoots. Our hosts provided sound local knowledge, and we will definitely be back again.

Craigie Knowe Vineyard

Craigie Knowe Vineyard is a working vineyard and cellar door, set on 20 hectares, with 5 hectares under vine. It is the oldest vineyard on the beautiful East Coast of Tasmania. The homestead was built in 1836 and is one of the most photographed houses in Tasmania. Please note Hipcamp charge an additional charge on top of the $25.00. Please look at our website for options. The cellar door is open 11-4, and offers chocolate and wine pairings, and normal tastings. We also have a restaurant on site open from 11:30 - 3:00 daily during summer. It is a beautiful vineyard with plenty of outside seating. There are also 5 other cellar doors within 10 minutes of the property, so it's a great basecamp for wine lovers! We have plenty of level ground, ideal for pulling up for a night or several. Please note, all campers must be self-contained, with their own toilet, and we kindly ask you take all waste with you. Just outside the property, the Swan River flows past, a great place to cool off on hot days, sometimes there are fish there too. Swansea is 16km away and Bicheno is 26km away. Both towns have IGA supermarkets, bottle shops and restaurants, and plenty of history. Freycinet National Park is 40 minutes, and makes for a great day trip, with beautiful walks, fantastic scenery, and of course iconic Wine Glass Bay.

Our site is positioned on a section of our 3 acre block that is totally private from our residence. We are located an easy 20 minute drive from Hobart airport. The site is not just in a paddock but is surrounded by beautiful native trees and garden - there is a small enclosed camp shelter with power, bench, sink, hot water, wood heater and a bar fridge. There is also an outdoor shower to rinse off after a swim. The beach is a 5 minute walk away. We have a deck positioned to pull up to next to the shed. Clifton Beach is a beachside community located on the south arm peninsula 25 minutes from Hobart city and is the closest surf beach to Hobart. The south arm peninsula itself has many great walks and beautiful beaches. It is a great spot to base yourself to explore Hobart and local attractions. e.g Port Arthur 90 minutes. Our Hipcamp site has full council approval.

Fickle Break Farm

Fickle Break Farm is a 28-acre coastal property on the doorstep of a world-class surf break, only 30 mins from Hobart. You can walk out the door with your surfboard, bike, or running shoes and jump in the ocean or onto several beautiful coastal walking and riding trails. We are 10 minutes away from Lauderdale shops and 10 mins to the best surf beaches in Hobart on the South Arm Peninsula. Pitch your tent or park your set up on our beautiful grassy hilltop campsite overlooking the South Arm Peninsula and Mt Wellington in the distance. You'll enjoy good access to Mays Point surf break and the Clarence Coastal Trail just a few mins away with walking tracks to Cremorne and Lauderdale along the coast. The camping area has a communal fire pit, access to fresh water and power in our large shed if needed, and a table tennis table. We are on tank water, so please be mindful of this. And please drive slowly and be mindful of treading lightly on the land. We also offer a 5m lotus belle stargazer tent, situated at the very top of the property, nestled amongst the native trees and with water views, it has a luxurious queen-sized bed with beautiful linens and is a short walk away from the walking tracks to the beach. All guests have access to our well-maintained composting toilet with water views and a beautiful hot outdoor shower that is open to the sky. Next door is a large sheep property, and on our land we have friendly chooks, peacocks, Guinea pigs, miniature goats, horses and a border collie. Guests and children are welcome to pat, feed and cuddle the chooks, Guinea pigs, horses and the miniature goats! Dogs are welcome as long as they are friendly with other dogs and people, and can be trusted not to escape to the next-door sheep property (beware as farmers can be ruthless with dogs!). They will need to be supervised and restrained (tied up or placed in our closed-in yard at night so they don’t disturb wallabies and other wildlife). We love meeting new people and are passionate about our beautiful property so we can’t wait to share it with you!

Our cosy private tiny house/shack. It is close to beaches and a lagoon. The Bay of Fires is 40min north and Wineglass Bay/Freycinet National Park 1hr south. Relax night and day in a fire pit lounge area crafted with dry stone (large soft cushions included) plus an outdoor fire bath. A small separate shed houses a flushing toilet and gas hot water shower. The block has mains power; solar power and tank water. The block is surrounded by local endemic shrubs, trees and ground covers. We provide firewood, linen for the comfortable double bed, condiments for the fully equipped kitchen that includes crockery, cutlery, a fridge, a gas cooker, air fryer, sandwich toaster, camp oven, water etc. Just bring your clothes and food. The block is in a quiet coastal hamlet (with gravel roads and no street lights) ideal for beach and lagoon activities (surfing, walking, paddling, bird watching). Our 2 person sit on kayak is at the tidal lagoon 5 min walk away. We have crafted this space over a number of years for personal use and now would like others to experience it. Stargazing from the fire bath is a must do feature especially in winter. Dog/pet friendly.

Aug 2024: the site now has a flat patch for campers visiting 🏕️ The plot is nearly 3 acres and is earmarked conservation land and surrounded by neighbouring conservation land. This is your perfect lunawuni/Bruny Island escape! It is tucked away from the no-through gravel road and surrounded by Australian bush and wildlife with filtered water views of D'Entrecasteaux Channel and 100 m from the beach. It's a tranquil heaven yet so close to all the famous Bruny sites and must dos: Bruny oysters, beer and cheese (why not bring some to the campsite to enjoy?) The Neck, Truganini Lookout + penguins! Cape Queen Elizabeth Track and other hiking trails Adventure Bay and *white wallabies (*we give you a map on where to go to find the white wallabies!!) South Bruny, and the Light house When you book our site, you have it all to yourself! Except for sharing it with the wildlife, of course. As the name suggests, there is a family of quolls living on the land and you are very likely to see them! Once dusk arrives and the stars start lighting up the sky, the quolls usually come out to say hi before they start their night activities. Joining the quolls, are the potoroos who are not afraid to come up close and sniff your feet in curiosity. If you are yet to see a quoll and a potoroo in the wild, this is your campsite! Other wildlife includes the endangered Forty Spotted Pardalote and critically endangered Swift Parrots. To access the beach, simply walk through the property to the end of the plot and follow the path. There is an echidna living near the road so keep an eye out for her. The campsite is a perfect spot to see wildlife, and birds, and for photography. On the campsite is a large outdoor kitchen with two sinks. Wait... is there a bathtub? Yes! The bathtub is great for a bush shower (byo solar shower) as the taps are not connected. You must bring your own toilet. Rainwater is available too, we have two tanks! Campfires are allowed but you cannot collect firewood on the property. Please bring your own firewood or add it at the time of booking and we will provide you with firewood for your stay. The land is a conservation area and quolls are known to live in up to 5 nests. They live under the logs and it is an important habitat for the species. We love the quolls and know you will too so please do not disturb their homes. The site is excellent for stargazing once nightfall arrives. Simply BYO a hammock (we have prepared the setup!) and lie down to watch the stars with a glass of red or a hot chocolate. We recommend campervans for the site and it's only suited to self-contained campers leaving no trace behind. Available on-site and free to use are also a director's chair and a table. The kitchen is also equipped with a double sink, dish rack, two buckets, BBQ tools, cutlery, and a dustpan. There is also a cleaning kit with biodegradable spray, hand sanitizer, and soap. There are also a set of caravan/van leveling ramps and chocks for you to freely use. The site is perfect for those wishing to find privacy amongst an otherwise busy Island. The Duck Hole at Farnese Olivo

Farnese Olivo is a family hobby farm set on 5 acres overlooking the Coal River Valley in Acton Park, just 15 minutes from Hobart CBD. The Duck Hole is a historic farm dam offering a quiet rural experience. We highly recommend 4WD only between April and August due to large amounts of rain periodically. All campers have free access to: - potable drinking water - shower (open air, cold only) - outdoor basic cassette/camp toilet for tent bookings only, we ask if you are self contained to use your own facilities - rubbish bins - fire pit and firewood - cast iron bbq plate and skillets for cooking in the fire pit - picnic table and chairs overlooking the dam - dam side hammock The property was established in the early 1980s on the site of one of Hobarts oldest farms (the original house built in 1826 still stands as a beautiful family home 2 doors up on our street). We are home to three friendly hand reared sheep - Daisy, Frank and Bill who love pats and food. Muscovy and Indian Runner Ducks, Chickens and many native birds. Overlooking the historic dam there is a shared fire pit with firewood supplied. There is a dump point within 6km, located in Cambridge Park for those with their own toilet. Some minor leveling may be required. The sheep pen and duck hole sites are pretty much flat. As we have farm animals, you will get to hear our sheep and ducks enjoying their environment. However, it is very quiet of an evening/night. We love meeting new people and are passionate about our property we can’t wait to share it with you and your family! Check in MUST be between 12pm and dark due to safety and our council permit. If you require check in after dark please contact us prior to booking to arrange.

You will be visited by wallabys, water hens and a myriad of other birds during your stay. Local attractions: There are many beautiful walks nearby, and plenty of local attractions. Take a tour to Cape Bruny Lighthouse; Try a Pennicott boat discovery tour; Sample the chocolates from the Bruny Island Chocolate Co, or enjoy a meal at the Bruny Island Cheesery or Bruny Island Hotel. Book in ahead of time so not to be disappointed. What to bring: Many travellers bring their own supplies with them. Top up groceries can be purchased at the Adventure Bay General Store (20 minutes - 15km) or the Alonnah General Store (5 minutes - 1.6km). Fresh sourdough bread is available for purchase, at the roadside fridge on the corner of Sheepwash Road. Amenities: You do need to be self-sufficient here, with your own toilet, and we ask you take all waste with you when you leave. Public Toilets can also be found close by at 8 Pontoon Rd, Alonnah TAS 7150. Pets: You are welcome to bring pets that are kept under control as there is an abundance of local wildlife and roads adjacent to the campsites.
