We With 49 species of birds and clear skies above at night to shine a light on how big the universe is. We are also home to endangered GREATER GLIDERS at The Croft!
You will have a 5-acres to explore during your visit with a large flat campsite area with power and water if that is what you need. The onsite caravan – BETTY – is available for you if you need a bit more of a glamping holiday. Toilet is a composting toot. Self sufficient sites are available as well in another part of The Croft property near the dam and is accessed via the main property.
Options for visitors are tailored for the horse rider however you don’t need a horse to visit and enjoy what The Croft has to offer. You can also spend time with the horses here with a variety of experiences available as extras and as part of package deals and our flag ship Back in the Saddle retreat option.
There are many things to do in Blackbutt as well as spending some time at The Croft. Every 3rd Sunday is our market day, the renowned Blackbutt Bakery is always at your disposal and a great pub for a pub grub night.
The horse trails network is 500m up the road and has signage with town 1 hour ride away which I can take you on a ride to on the 3rd Sunday Market Day! I have access to the rail trail via private property, or otherwise you can utilise Staines Road to get into Benarkin State Forestry or the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail.
Dogs are also welcome who are well behaved and on a leash if others have horses with them. Please note that you MUST ensure your dog has tick prevention prior to arrival. Bookings require pre approval please. This is non negotiable to prepare for your stay.
All welcome to visit and please enjoy a campsite that will only ever have 2 bookings at a time in the 1 acre camping area.

Here at 'Waratan Park' in Oakey QLD, we offer a peaceful, animal friendly stay on our 120 acre property, away from the crowds, but close to town, and only a short drive to Toowoomba.
We have a large grassed area for your van, very level, with plenty of space. Enjoy views of the animals from your camp chair.
All campers must be self contained with their own toilet and shower, can empty grey water ONLY. There is a dump point less than 1km down the road.
We have unpowered sites, along with two sites that have access to power and water.
Important - We are a working farm, and have 6 farm dogs on site. Whilst we can accept bookings with pets, you MUST run this by us before making a booking. Any visiting pets must be kept on a lead at all times while on the property.
Oakey is a small but great country town, approximately 30km west of Toowoomba. Some nearby attractions include an Australian Army Flying Museum, Oakey Historical Museum, and we're a short 20 minute drive up the road from the Jondaryan Woolshed.
Local shops include an IGA, Foodworks, RSL, Tavern, 1 pub with great Friday night entertainment (no meals), bakery, cafe, kebab shop, takeaway, hospital and ambulance 24/7, chemists, hairdressers and local mechanics, Toyota dealership and several service stations, all in close proximity.

We stayed with our camper van for 3 nights. Great site, well cared for and fully fenced which was perfect for our dogs. Will definitely go again with the family. It did rain solidly for 2 days but because it is so well kept there was no build up of rain excess water. Loved it. Thanks John and Tenille

Lovely little spot! Large flat pad that was secluded from other campsites. We had a ute with rooftop, then a gazebo with tent attachment and there was still heaps of room. You get your own personal entrance to the creek which was very clean and sandy bottom, plus very cold water on a hot day!! As an added bonus, we had absolutely zero mozzys or flies! Pretty unheard of on a farm paddock!

Nice and peaceful property. Stayed near the dam, there is a road nearby but no traffic at all. Grass was maintained, not too long. Porta loo’s very very clean (probably the cleanest I’ve ever seen tbh). Handy little camp kitchen area. Owners were very friendly too

Had a really great start on the property! Loads of animals to go look at and feed, I also had my dog with us. Spent time.in the spa which was perfect! Beautiful fruit baring trees at the main camp site, we seen King Parrots come to eat the sunflower seeds from the plant. Shout out to Ben for finding little dog Zena when she ran off, she was spooked and ran off, she ended up back next to the spa waiting to be rescued 😂 great hosts with cute kids!

Lovely spot nice and flat beautiful and grassy, clean toilets and showers. Very quiet.
Nice little camp kitchen with table tables and chairs. Not far from the local pub and the local dams. Definitely will be going back.

Excellent family friendly farm stay. All sites are in great proximity to amenities, the farm and surroundings. Farm and site are very well maintained. Local produce for sale (honey, firewood). Plenty of kids activities and a spa. Location is excellent for adventures in to Toowoomba and surrounds. Stay for more than 2 nights to appreciate the lifestyle and surrounds! Ben and his family are super welcoming and helpful. we were super lucky and got to see mummy pig have some babies!
