Please notify us if you are camping with other campers who have booked a separate site so we can have you camping beside each other During busy times, most weekend bookings are a minimum of 2 nights with 1 night bookings during the week, however occasionally we will have 1 night bookings on weekends. Check with your host to see availability on 1 night bookings. All campsites run parallel too the creek and are situated on the upper bank of Yabba Creek. Some have creek views, the other sites have trees between the creek and their site. All have mountain views. The main access to the creek is half way along the campground between site 8 and 9. Please do not leave your car parked in the walkway as this will block the entrance to campsite 9. Unfortunately, we lost many of our creek access points due to flooding. Our property is situated between Imbil and Lake Borumba on the beautiful Yabba Creek. We have 110 acres, with campsites on 20 acres. We have 1km of creek frontage. The creek offers fishing, swimming and kayaking. If you're lucky you'll spot the platypus in the creek and there's lots of birdlife around so bring your cameras! Kayaks are supplied free for all campers to use. We just ask that you treat them with respect and return them back to their launching place once you have finished with them. It would pay to pack your reef walkers as the river is rocky in spots. There is lots of space for motorhomes and large camping vehicles to maneuver and park. Plenty of flat spots for your tent or vehicle. This campsite has access to flushing toilets (toilets are situated approx. 400m from the camp sites) and water (rainwater), but you will need to bring your own camping shower. Campfires are permitted outside of fire-ban season (please use the existing firepits). The property features a gorgeous rainforest with a walking track that you can follow safely, and you can also access the state forest next door if you're up for a bigger adventure. Lake Borumba is just down the road which permits water skiing, boating, fishing and other water recreation. The town ship of Imbil is only 7 minutes away where you can visit the many cafes, bakeries, The Imbil pub, Sunday markets, Produce and hardware store, supermarket, butcher, clothing shops, hairdresser, fishing supplies, Petrol station, post office and more. We are a working cattle and horse property but we do allow pets, however pet owners will need to abide by the rules as set out under the Rules and Safety "Pets" section. Please note that there is a rifle range within hearing distance from Maluka Park and campers may at times on weekends hear gunshots. This generally only goes for a few hours.

Our property is located on the site of the First Kilkivan Township and was home to a gold rush in 1868 where a 73 oz nugget was discovered. Guests will have access to a portable toilet and fire pit throughout their stay. Gold is still found in and around the creek with fossicking permitted at an extra daily rate of $25 per person. As this is private property we require that all the QLD Fossicking Act rules and regulations are followed this includes having your own permit which must be supplied before fossicking is permitted. These rules include no machinery or pump operated sluices such as high banking sluices. Detectors are welcome and some great finds have been found with them including gold and coins from the 1860’s. Large groups are welcome. There are many great shaded camping spots along the creek or a large open area of about 50 acres for larger groups. The Cooke Family welcomes you to “Hopevale”. A beautiful 113 acre property bordered by Wrattens National Park at the edge of the world in the peaceful Widgee district of greater Gympie. Jason, a landscaper by trade, and Jacinta a teacher by profession, met many years ago at a national Christian youth conference. Four beautiful children later and many years down the track, they bought Hopevale as a blank cattle fattening property in 2018. After much hard work, they have made it what it is today, with plans to continually improve. We have different camp options available, one of which is set up for those guests also wanting to stay with horses or just have a larger group booking. Guests will have access to a toilet and shower throughout their stay which is within walking distance from each of the campsites. Campfires and pets are welcome. The property has only had 4 farming owners in its 110 odd years since it was first surveyed and selected in 1915. The Hillcoats, Bishops, Cotters, and now the Cooke’s. The families over the years have used the property for timber getting, dairy, beef and small cropping. The property is geologically rich with volcanic soils, sandstone escarpments full of caves and overhangs. The mighty Wrattens Falls sits to the back of the property in the National Park and is a sight to behold in full flow. It feeds the head waters of the western branch of Widgee Creek which meanders through the property. The subtropical dry rainforest clad mountains are dominated by the majestic Bunya and Hoop pines and are a testament to what once was covering the entire property before being cleared for farming. Remnant riparian creek lines are botanically rich and diverse holding Red and White Cedar, Teak, Silky oak and many other coveted timber trees harvested back in the day. There are many species of animals and birds that call Hopevale home. From water dragons, frogs and fish in the creeks, monitors, wallabies, deer, koalas, possums and phascogales in the eucalypts. Red-back wrens, pardalotes, rainbow bee-eaters, finches and quail call the open grasses home while whip birds give their iconic call in the forest. Above, birds of prey ride the thermals of the valley looking for their next meal. “We have been blessed beyond measure with a small slice of God’s wonderful creation that we would love to share with you.”

It was then sold by the Qld government and has been rezoned as a Camping, Recreation and Events Venue. We have retained all the old school facilities for our campers to enjoy. It was once the local cricket pitch , so is a lovely flat spot to camp, with a mountain view to one side and our creek bordering the other 3 sides. It is within minutes drive from the Amamoor General store so supplies are never far away. It has easy access off Moorehouse Gully Rd and is fully fenced from the road. Upon discovering the Mary Valley, we found our farm and fell in love with the views, the mango plantation and the gorgeous nearby villages. Our property was once a pineapple farm and was part of a much larger property owned by the previous owners for over 60 years. The Mary Valley Rattler steam train is a great addition to the history of the area and stops at our local village of Amamoor. Amamoor has the village Green Cafe opened from Wednesday to Sunday and also is where the Rattler stops for refreshments on the weekends. On Saturday afternoon you can visit Dagun station down the road for a wine tasting and find fresh produce at the station market. With Kandanga village 10 minutes away, the Country Club and the Kandanga Hotel, a refreshing beer, a good meal and even a game of bowls is not far away. Cycle the rail trail , kyak the Mary River and check out the State Forest and all its trails, there is so much to explore. Cooran Brewery with live music Dingo Creek Winery a bit father on , and the coast only 50 minutes away, come and explore our wonderful part of the world. Bottle Tree Farm is 10 acres situated on top of a slightly sloping hill which overlooks the surrounding hills, farming crops and Boat Mountain. We have a very old big bottle tree in the middle of our farm, which is one of the biggest in QLD. The sunsets are absolutely amazing here, so golden. The rural roads are lovely for an early or late evening walk on. We rent out a fully contained studio as well which is seperate and inside the farm fencing only for booked guests. In the paddock there is also a little renovated shed turned into a cute outhouse called the Heart Shed. Which is just being finished, soon to be able to be booked. The farm is within a 7 min drive of two IGAs. Plus very close to all the wineries (10 km approx) and it’s delicious food! It’s also the same distance to nearby Bjelke Peterson Dam for water skiing and water sports. Wondai has some gorgeous shops including a wellness shop with a magnesium float tank, antique shops, and the likes. There is a dairy museum in Murgon. A dinosaur and fossil museum called 55 Million Year Old Museum in Murgon too. Also a visit to the Ration Shed Museum in the Indigenous and alcohol free community of Cherbourg is very educational and really worth a visit and only 10 mins away. It has beautiful indigenous pottery and art too. Boat Mountain is nearby and has spectacular views and is a beautiful walk with lots of Koalas. The area I believe, is a hidden secret and has a sacred feel. Come and experience it for yourself.

This 10 acre property is located on the banks of Taromeo Creek, a quiet and peaceful camping location with great birdwatching. Taromeo Creek is a seasonal creek and is sometimes dry and sometimes flowing. When the water is flowing there are a number of water holes along the creek. Close to the local town of Blackbutt and only one and a half hours drive north west of Brisbane. Also close to the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail which offers 162kms of recreational trail for you to hike, bike or horse ride; with a local golf course nearby. Mount Binga National Park is close by which has areas to ride and hike. The annual Avocado festival which runs on the second weekend in September is always a popular time to visit. Set up camp along the creek and dam, find a clearing in the bush, or you can cross the seasonal creek and park/pitch in a large, open grassed area. While the creek is only running when we've had rain, the dam has water all year round, and on a hot day, you can go for a dip or a kayak, and maybe even catch some red claw! Pets are welcome, from dogs to horses. We allow campfires, and can provide additional firewood for a charge - see extras. A gel blaster range is being set up - more to come on this!

Absolutely beautiful location. We spent the night watching firefly’s fly around our outside tent and saw a gorgeous star lit sky. We were able to watch the lightening with no rain crack over the sky and by day swim in the creek which was lovely and warm by the arvo sun. ☀️We will definitely be back. A big thanks to Jenna and Brain for checking in on us and Jenna for helping set up the tent. Lovely hosts and super friendly and helpful. Toilets very clean and well maintained. This was the first time our doggos went camping and they can be a little nervous but given we had a decent space between camp sites the wasn’t an issue. They were super calm and loved exploring.

3 nights at Maluka Park

Wow, what an amazing place. The serenity is so beautiful. The hosts are kind and lovely and you can see how much they love this Hipcamp. Kayaking in the creek was our highlight and the lively breeze through our caravan. We will be back again soon.

This is a stunningly beautiful, well kept property. Creek was great for swimming, toilets clean, camp sites open and just enough space from other campers. Free Kayaks were used all weekend. Hosts were friendly and attentive, who clearly take great pride in maintaining their property.

Weekend Trip to McSweeny Haven

We loved camping on Nev’s property. Nev popped by to meet us not long after we arrived and was lovely. Nev & Leigh (daughter) were most helpful, prompt & accommodating when needing to contact them. It was great to get away from the city & enjoy time without technology (was good for the 4 primary school aged kids & for us!). Was lovely seeing the friendly cows & cute calves. Next time we visit, we will camp for longer, bring friends or family along with us (the more the merrier!) and find a more shaded area if camping in summer again.

We loved camping on Nev’s property. Nev popped by to meet us not long after we arrived and was lovely. Nev & Leigh (daughter) were most helpful, prompt & accommodating when needing to contact them. Lovely mown grass and shady spots beside the creek. Plenty of space. The creek feels the freshest down at the deep end - small track near camp 1. Cute little town Imbil nearby.

My review should say really negative things so no one else goes there because we would live the place all to ourselves. What a magnificent property and camping spot. It is truly one of, if not the best camping spot in Queensland. The hosts are delightful and the property is perfectly presented with large spaces for each lot. Lots of lovely horses and cows to admire and if you’re lucky have a pat. The river is shallow enough for a wade or deep enough for a swim. The canoes are great to go downstream and explore. Would definitely recommend 100%!!

6 nights at Hopevale Adventure Camping

Great place, stayed for five nights as this was our second time, lovely big swimming dam with a board jump, kids would love it, there is little running creek, more so when rain has been, very pieceful, a few marsh flies, Jacinta and jason are lovely. We will be back.
