Waterfall camping near Warwick

It is on a bit of a hill which made it a little difficult finding a spot without a self levelling camper trailer. Although, it is a nice little camping spot amongst some trees and close to the water. And with a option to stay a single night.

4 nights at Pointro Bunkhouse and Campground

Very nice area, nobody else was staying at the other campsite when we were there so completely private. Didn’t see the owners at all but that’s no problem for us. There was a box with info and emergency first aid kit and PLB provided which is a good inclusion for emergencies. Lovely cattle on the property roaming around, nice creek to explore.

The Pointro Camp grounds are absolutely stunning. The Wildlife- the Wedgetail Eagles, King Parrots, Wrens and Butcher Birds are easy to see. The Kangaroos and Pretty Faced Wallabies are abundant and just a pleasure to watch. There’s heaps of space in the site we stayed named Shady Tree Camp! Great firer pit, Amenities could do with a little bit of love BUT the Showers are awesome. All in all I am going back with all my Grandchildren so they can spend their time in this little piece of paradise and Enjoy!

We had a wonderful five-night stay at the Wynola Homestead powered site. The facilities were excellent, with a clean and spacious shower and toilet available on site. The property offered so much peace, quiet, and open space – perfect for relaxing – yet it was just a short drive into Killarney for groceries or anything else we needed. Mark, the caretaker, was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. He made us feel right at home and even gave us some much-appreciated advice when we had a minor circuit breaker issue with our caravan. There’s plenty to enjoy right on the property, including scenic walks along the river, but the location also makes a great base for day trips – only half an hour to Warwick and an hour to Stanthorpe. We truly had a fantastic experience and are already looking forward to coming back again!

Beautiful location by the lake and great little bushwalk from the campground. But as previously mentioned the powered sites for vans are a struggle to get flat ground. My van was on a slant no Matter which way I parked. Also facilities & toilets are bit of a distance from the powered site lake view. Would be nice to have a toilet & shower closer. But overall great spot

Weekend Trip to Wynola Country Cousins

Another beautiful and serene campsite at Wynola! This is my 5th visit to Wynola property and I can never compare them, they are magic in their own way. As always, the campsites are extremely tidy and well manicured. Even though it rained the entire weekend, it was beautiful to listen to the country sounds and watch the cows graze. The creek was so full and so much space for my dog to run around off leash. Thanks again Bernie, I’ll be back soon! Sarah

We loved camping here with our friends. We have 5 jet skis and hung out by the lake all day. The campsite was lovely, the owners were super friendly and the facilities were good. Outlets and nice hot showers. We had a nice big fire pit and wood bbq. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you

What a fantastic spot right near the river. The area was grassy, very tidy and level. Enjoyed our few days camping by the river. Easy access in and out of the property made it easy to explore the area. Highly recommended.

If you have a 4wd you can take a short drive up to Spicers Gap National Park. Here there is a short walk out to the Governors Chair lookout with spectacular views of the Fassifern Valley and beyond. We currently don't have a boat ramp however once you have launched your boat at the public boat ramp we have a nice bay in front of the campground where you can anchor your boat.

Stonepine Ridge 'where eagles fly'

Space, scenic views, a series of mountain bike tracks to test your skills, abundant wildlife, peace and quiet. Mountain biking only? Book a campsite for the day. These best describe this 754 hectare (1864 acres) property. Stonepine Ridge is 'remote' - your camp sites are away from any dwellings - but you are still close enough to country towns across borders. Map to get here ( https://stonepineridge.com.au/map/ ) There is plenty of space for social distancing. Most camp sites are 50 or more metres apart. The terrain is mostly treed with some cleared, pastured country. On the border with the Queensland town of Stanthorpe, Stonepine Ridge is close to the historic areas of Willsons Downfall and Amosfield in New South Wales. Home to many rivers that traverse the property from top to bottom, the Boonoo Boonoo and Bookookookarara rivers and Undercliffe and Boonoo Boono Falls are close by and are popular sites to spend a few hours walking/hiking and immersing yourself in the ambient countryside. The Boonoo Boonoo and Bald rock National Parks are also within this area. The beautiful New England town of Tenterfield is about 20 minutes drive from the falls and offers visitors many shopping and restaurant options. Be sure to stop en route to visit the World War 2 tank traps - (Australia's Maginot Line) and Thunderbolt's hideout. A short drive across the border into Queensland will give you access to the Girraween National Park and a host of wineries, coffee shops, restaurants and pubs. This camping property is large and you will find no better place that allows for gentle as well as more advanced walking, hiking and mountain biking. The altitude on the property varies from 900m at the top down to 50m to the bottom. The temperature is variable with mostly cool nights, which makes for restful sleep and a nice fire to add to the ambience.

Emu Creek Retreat

Welcome to Emu creek Retreat One of the best destinations for hiking, camping, bushwalking, swimming, Kayaking, fishing, mountain bike riding (bicycles only), bird watching, 4wdriving and even fossicking, since the old gold mining town "Lunatics" was not far away from us. Dogs, men's best friend, are definitely welcome. If travelling in a 2wd please contact us before booking, some of the campgrounds have to be reached by crossing the creeks, Girard camp is one of them where the office and the showers are, at times this crossing is under water and is only accessible by 4wd. Other campgrounds are available near the entry gate that don't require a creek crossing for access and toilets are available on some of them. One side of the property is bound by Emu Creek and the other by Gerard Creek, both creeks have enough water with some permanent deep water holes for all year activities. Sightseeing inside the property we have Girard Falls, a 50m deep waterfall, nature at it's best. The only entry into the property is by Emu Creek Rd a gravel road. Emu Creek Retreat is located in the far north-east of New South Wales. We are approximately 200 km from Brisbane, Toowoomba and Gold Coast, 150km from Byron Bay. Tabulam is the nearest town 12km away. Fuel and groceries are available at Tabulam along with a post office, pub and police station. Casino is 68km away and Tenterfield 78km. Once a working cattle property, in the 90's was converted into a camping and 4WD park. Since 2017 has been a family own and operated property, pet friendly, we are using the existing large camping grounds to convert it into a camping paradise. Two properties combined with close to 2800 acres, fronting Paddy’s Flat Rd for 2km and extends 7km to the back fence bordering a 22000 acre cattle property. The front section is undulating with plantation forest (spotted gum) and bushland, towards the back it has mountains, steep terrain and millions of trees with spectacular views and great hiking tracks.
