4WD Recommended - dirt/gravel road and two creek crossings (through the creek bed) to get here. We have a whole beautiful valley with crystal clear spring-fed creeks, patches of rain forest and hillsides covered in grass-trees backing onto Wrattens State Forest. There's 1,375 acres of land - the boundaries of our property are the ridges of the mountains that encircle us, and many rare species abound here. This is a dog and horse friendly property but no pets allowed in the cabin. There is paralysis tick in this region - so we'd recommend treating any animal before you come and frequent checks while you're here. No mobile phone coverage at the cabin, but there is a hill you can drive (or walk) up on the property to get phone signal if needed and we have a landline phone in our house which can be used in emergencies.

Just 17km to the nearest supermarkets, 11 km to fuel and bottleshop for last minute supplies. Amenities include: Flushing Portable toilets just a short walk from your camp. Attractions close by. * Gympie's Historical Steam train " The Mary Valley Rattler" does trips on Wednesday, Saturday and Sundays. * Historical Theebine Hotel is just 22km away and does a great meal. * Dickabram Bridge is 25km away. It is the oldest remaining large steel truss bridge constructed in Queensland. Or just take a quiet stroll observing the sights and sounds of the natural wildlife. I purchased the farm in 2015 with my children to build a dream, a lifestyle I'm passionate about, one I could share with my family. I was raised on the land and respect and follow sustainable farming practices here on Macallon Farm.

Bauple Mountain is 5km away which is a great spot for walking and hiking. Mary River is down the road 4km and a great spot for fishing. The national trail runs along the river and is a great spot for walks or bike rides. We have a number of horse riding camps in the nearby area as well.We have fire drums available and well behaved pets are welcome. The Fishing Hut is located on our working Brahman cattle property. It is completely self contained and perfect for families. It has 3 bedrooms (one queen bed, one king bed, and a kids room with two sets of bunks) all fully air conditioned. No dogs are permitted behind the The Fishing Hut where we have our cattle yards and our own dogs. The property is located in Scotchy Pocket farming district, 25 minutes north of Gympie.
