Purchased in 1988 as a block of Bush, the majority of clearing was initially done with a small Massey Ferguson Te20 a long length of chain a shovel and chainsaw.Built originally with nothing more than the chainsaw, shovel, hammer and nails the log cabin that I still live in has undergone a few changes over the years but we have tried to keep it looking the same on the outside made mostly from large hardwood posts and paperbark slabs and half rounds for walls concrete floor with sunken lounge room. Guests can pitch a tent or park your camper/caravan among the native gums, wattles and grass trees in one of two large drive through sites. At this stage there are no facilities here, so you will need to be fully self sufficient in regards to toilet, water and power. There is a slight slope, so if you have a van, it will need levelling. Camp fires welcome and plenty of undergrowth nearby to forage for wood. Pets are welcome but must remain on the leash at all times. The property is not fenced from the road or neighboring properties. I also have two dogs who can be protective. Please inform me ahead at the time of booking if you are bringing pets. There is a seasonal creek that runs through the property about 100m away. It is a bush trek to get to it (ie: no pathways, yet). And another larger one at the very back end of the property in a gully. Should you wish to get adventurous.

We had 1 night at Makowata Farm and it was lovely. We wouldn’t hesitate to return again. The night sky here was the best we’ve ever experienced - I truly recommend a stay. The shower on site was also really enjoyable!

Weekend Trip to Travellers Rest 1770 Eco Camping

Myself and my partner stayed 2 nights for a weekend getaway and were beyond happy with the stay. Mike and his family were extremely welcoming and there were more secluded spots available for privacy. It was a quick drive into town and the area was quiet and peaceful with plenty of lovely wide-life. The toilets and showers were a massive bonus and clean and tidy at all times. Although we didn’t use them the hot plates, microwave and kettle could be very helpful. We will definitely be back Thankyou Mike, Michi and family 😁

Peaceful spot with secluded sites, a friendly host who introduced us to the gorgeous cows and the stars at night were amazing! Town is only 9 minutes away with a fantastic park for kids and good meals at the local pub (who also serve great coffee at the front cafe in the morning). A great stop over for us with two little kids!

Great little spot to camp. Close to town so very handy. Definitely needed to be self-contained , which we are. Camp 1 is close to the main road but we had no problem with Traffic noise...

IDEAL LOCATION - Nestled under the canopy of trees on the footstep of Eurimbula National Park, only 6 kms to Agnes Water

Beautiful bush sites with ample space. Basic facilities but well run. Great quiet spot to explore Agnes Waters area and enjoy nature. Fire pits, nice camp kitchen/games area/cubby for kids. Grass Tree pool was the best! Especially at sunset

5 nights at Travellers Rest 1770 Eco Camping

We had a fabulous 5 nights at Travellers Rest 1770. Quiet, relaxing and plenty of room between camping spots. Amenities were very clean. Close to Agnus Waters to enjoy all the activities available. Definitely on our list of return Hipcamps.
