Please read all of the following information before submitting a booking request. Requests that don’t provide the required information will not be processed. Stonesthrow is a 106 acre rural property in the peaceful Illinbah Valley. Nestled between Beechmont and Canungra, we are about an hour (a stones throw) from the Gold Coast or Brisbane. Over time, the property has been used to farm goats, train racing camels and spell racehorses and is now a family hobby farm. We currently have three dogs, cows, horses, goats and some friendly donkeys who love to meet new people for some pats and a carrot! We offer a choice of sites- either Lower Sites close to the beautiful shallow creek that meanders its way through the property or Elevated Sites with views of the valley. LOWER SITES have access to facilities- toilets, a powered shed, kettle, fridge and a sink. Most sites offer 2WD access yet still facilitate the experience of camping in the bush. These are the only sites that caravans can access. ELEVATED SITES have stunning views of the valley. These sites are only accessible by capable 4WD and require you to bring your own sealed, chemical camping toilet and ensuite tent which we sight on arrival before allowing guests access to the track. Check-in must be during daylight hours to enable safe access. Off-road camper trailers can access these sites. When submitting a booking request, select either a Lower Site or Elevated Site. Please include your vehicle make and model, camping setup (tent/swag/camper trailer), type of toilet and ensuite tent (if requesting an elevated site) and number of occupants (adults, children, dogs). Friendly dogs are welcome and must be kept on a lead when in close proximity to the cottage and other campers. Please note, the availability of certain sites is weather dependant. We are not a 4WD adventure park. Vehicles must be left at your campsite and NOT used to explore the property. Exploration of the property is welcome by foot or bicycle: 1.2 km from bottom to top. Due to insurance considerations, no 'day visitors' are allowed unless they have an approved Hipcamp booking. We are a Leave No Trace campground - ensure what you bring in, leaves with you. All camp fires must be fully extinguished with water prior to departure.

Some cattle tracks for the kids to ride along in the paddock also. -Wivenhoe, Somerset Dam in the area for water sports -Wildlife watching, this paddock sustains a large variety of native animals, if you’ve got a keen eye -Bottle Tree pub is just down the road, - bit more than walking distance tho :) -Take it easy.

Stonesthrow is a 106 acre rural property in the peaceful Illinbah Valley. Nestled between Beechmont and Canungra, we are about an hour (a stones throw) from the Gold Coast or Brisbane. Over time, the property has been used to farm goats, train racing camels and spell racehorses and is now a family hobby farm. We currently have three dogs, cows, horses, goats and some friendly donkeys who love to meet new people for some pats and a carrot! We offer a choice of sites- either Lower Sites close to the beautiful shallow creek that meanders its way through the property or Elevated Sites with views of the valley. LOWER SITES have access to facilities- toilets, a powered shed, kettle, fridge and a sink. Most sites offer 2WD access yet still facilitate the experience of camping in the bush. These are the only sites that caravans can access. ELEVATED SITES have stunning views of the valley. These sites are only accessible by capable 4WD and require you to bring your own sealed, chemical camping toilet and ensuite tent which we sight on arrival before allowing guests access to the track. Check-in must be during daylight hours to enable safe access. Off-road camper trailers can access these sites. When submitting a booking request, select either a Lower Site or Elevated Site. Please include your vehicle make and model, camping setup (tent/swag/camper trailer), type of toilet and ensuite tent (if requesting an elevated site) and number of occupants (adults, children, dogs). The rainforest Treehouse is situated in a rainforest pocket of the Mount Warning Caldera, completely surrounded by lush and vibrant nature and sheltered from the outside world, while being just 2 minutes away from us and the comfy road that will take you to an amazing swimming hole, cafés and the nearby town. Once you enter the Treehouse private drive you will feel yourself being transported into a magical world of gently flowing water, natural light, tall trees, chirping birds, rustling leaves, crickets, and frogs. You will notice the energy shift into the safe embrace of our land, protected by Springbrook Mountain. The location of the Treehouse was chosen by our then young children. We all fell in love with the magnificent camphor laurel tree growing at the edge of the seasonal creek. We all found ourselves drawn to that place, so with the help of our friends and our children we began the project of manifesting a dream into a reality - the dream of living in the tree canopy. As we worked on the Treehouse, the design was constantly changing. The whole family, especially our youngest son, contributed to the manifestation of the dream. During that time we overcame many obstacles and found solutions to build in the tree. It was an adventure, a lot of fun and we learnt a lot. It became a dwelling for our kids for a period of time, until they grew up and left to conquer the big wide world. Now it is here for you to enjoy, to reconnect with your dreams, to dive deep into your childhood playful memories where the world of fantasy and reality merge together. Here you can just be yourself, embraced by nature and view at the world from your Treehouse verandah. THE RED CABIN We are also proud of our very special Red Cabin with its magnificent mountain view. it has been created with dedication and love. And again it is thanks to our daughter this time. She has found the perfect spot for you so you can immerse yourself in nature in the shade of lovely trees, taking flight with the eagles above Springbrook Mountain, lifting up and rejoicing life. The vibrant tantric red colour of the cabin will fill you up with new energy and freshness. it is supplied with clean, luxurious linen and towels. The daring bathroom allows you to bask in a bubble bath while enjoying your favourite beverage watching the stars. That beautiful experience will be enhance by the symphony of the surrounding nature. The cooking and dining area is set up for your highest comfort and equipped with everything you need. There is a fee per vehicle with every booking, and we need to know if it is 2WD or 4WD as many of our campsites are 4WD only. We have limited usage on Tamrookum Creek road per day and pay a levy per vehicle. The vehicle fee is listed under extras. If you want to drive the 28 kilometres of tracks scattered throughout the property during your stay 7am to 6pm there is an additional one-off payment $45 per vehicle. Our entry check-in time 7am with vacating before 6pm We also offer people with 4WD vehicles to just come out for a day’s drive 7am to 6pm to access the 4WD tracks. Vehicles pay $55 weekend and PH or $45 mid-week for a day visit no camping. Camping: We have 2 camping areas for 2WD and caravan access Opposite Lock A to H sites and the 14's A to E sites. Our check in time is from 7am and check out time the following day before 6pm All other sites are 4WD access. These are not advertised on this platform. As this is an instant payment platform, we do consider credits for valid reasons unable to arrive but must be discussed. Property: A 695-acre council registered tourist back-to-basic bush camping and 4WD park located in the picturesque Scenic Rim region just over an hour drive from Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Perfect for 4WD enthusiasts, bushwalkers, mountain bikers, and anyone that just wants to get back to nature. Amenities: We encourage self-sufficient bush camping. There are chemical toilets near the campsites. Hot showers and a flushing toilet if required are back at the main car park. showers 7am to 5pm as there is no night driving We do not charge for children under 5 years of age. Please do not add this age-group to your booking. Children's rate is charged from 5 year to 16 years. You will need to adjust your booking as Hip camp adult rate charge starts from 12 years old. We loved our three night stay at Dead Tree Alley. Guy the host and his children were so helpful and it was great to chat while the geese, chickens, Guinea fowl, pigs, roosters, alpacas, goats, cows etc were being fed. We will be back one day soon. We can absolutely recommend this Hipcamp for anyone wanting to relax and reconnect with nature. Only one hour west of the Gold Coast!! 10 out of 10

We have now been to Traveller's Rest twice, and loved it both times. The area is flat and grassy and backs on to a creek. There is alot of birdlife to watch with neighbouring farms of cows and a horse to observe. Leanne keeps the camp ground mowed, the shower is spotless and the 2 porta-loos are always clean. It is effortless camping not far from the GC.

Took our camper trailer to Dead Tree Alley really enjoyed the camp site. Guy was very friendly upon arrival and throughout our stay. Highlight was getting to feed the huge variety of animals on his property. The grounds are kept very tidy and hot shower and a toilet was great.

Great location for groups/families.. Plenty of space between sites and very peaceful. Porta-loo and bins available. Owners were very friendly and came every day to check supplies in toilets and empty bins. Great creek for kids to swim in with turtles but path down can be tricky and slippery.

What a place. Absolutely loved it here. The first this the wife said when we drove through the gate was, "this looks well maintained", and it was every camp area was nicely mowed all facilities were clean and stocked. Our hosts Brian and Tania (and the extended family we met) were amazing. Very friendly, accommodating and up for a chat. There is plenty of room for all types of camping to glamping. Will definitely be returning.
