We have 40 acres of picturesque farmland situated near the Atkinson Dam.
On the property you can enjoy swimming in the dam or just sitting under the shade of my many lovely big trees. Some have koalas residents, so bring your camera!
We are a hobby farm with animals roaming around including horses and pigs. We are family and children friendly but can also cater for larger get-togethers that require more space as whole paddocks are available.
We are located 20 minutes from the Wivenhoe Dam, Gatton or Fernvale which are the bigger towns to get supplies. We are only 10 minutes away from Lowood.
All these towns have great pubs and delicious, affordable meals. There are weekend markets, wineries, creeks, lookouts, historical villages and fabulous vintage shops to experience and explore!

Hart Hill boasts a stunning 28 acres. Your initial view of the property coming over a Thanes Creek causeway is that of a magnificent rock face. However, 600m down the road, through the gate, and over the ridge, Hart Hill exposes a lovely undulating fold baring a huge panorama of flat alluvial ground that hugs Thanes Creek.
Sprinkled with gums, the camping area is based west of the property in a stunning shady lea cooled by the creek and an old windmill for a backdrop.
The properties history is colourful. In 1869 the area was a hub for gold diggers wanting to strike it lucky. Old wooden stumps tell a story of an old mining hut, and if you dug in some of the rock heaps you might get a shock when you uncovered more than gold.
Visitors can enjoy campfires, fossicking, including swimming, kayaking, fishing and more dependant on seasonal changes to the creek.

You will have a 5-acres to explore during your visit with a large flat campsite area with power and water if that is what you need. The onsite caravan – BETTY – is available for you if you need a bit more of a glamping holiday. Toilet is a composting toot. Self sufficient sites are available as well in another part of The Croft property near the dam and is accessed via the main property.
Options for visitors are tailored for the horse rider however you don’t need a horse to visit and enjoy what The Croft has to offer. You can also spend time with the horses here with a variety of experiences available as extras and as part of package deals and our flag ship Back in the Saddle retreat option.
There are many things to do in Blackbutt as well as spending some time at The Croft. Every 3rd Sunday is our market day, the renowned Blackbutt Bakery is always at your disposal and a great pub for a pub grub night.
The horse trails network is 500m up the road and has signage with town 1 hour ride away which I can take you on a ride to on the 3rd Sunday Market Day! I have access to the rail trail via private property, or otherwise you can utilise Staines Road to get into Benarkin State Forestry or the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail.
Dogs are also welcome who are well behaved and on a leash if others have horses with them. Please note that you MUST ensure your dog has tick prevention prior to arrival. Bookings require pre approval please. This is non negotiable to prepare for your stay.
All welcome to visit and please enjoy a campsite that will only ever have 2 bookings at a time in the 1 acre camping area.

Such a relaxing and peaceful place. We loved sitting by the firepit at night under the starry sky and waking up to birds in the morning. Rose was quick to respond and made us feel very welcome. Our family had a great time and really enjoyed our stay. Will definitely retun next

Michaela's place is delighted with creativities. There are art installations, studios, and even karaoke bar with lots of custumes to choose.
We enjoyed our camping time with doggos and horses. Besides, each camp ground is huge and far from eachother. We even had a dam view in the front of our camp ground!
Michaela always responds messages instantly and helped us a lot. :)) Would definitely recommend to come!

The camp grounds are very well maintained. Showers were kept very clean.
Jane and Luke were very welcoming and helpful and could not do enough to assist their guests.
There was a nice amount of space between individual sites allowing for more privacy.
There is easy access to the water for fishing or swimming
We will definitely return.

Had a great 2 night stay at Thornton View Hipcamp. The Front Paddock site was easy to access with a 19'6 van in tow. The hosts were friendly and greeted us on arrival. Even though this site was close to the house we felt secluded. We enjoyed great mountain views and visits from cows and horses. Proximity to the Scenic Rim Trail was a bonus. We would definitely recommend this Hipcamp.

Camped at wind break, the owners were very accompanied thank to you Jane. Toilets were clean daily. Caught a big yellow perch in the creek. Swim able creek need to track down a steep hill but had it to ourselves which was nice. The camps are alittle close but neighbours where nice. Will recommend 👍

Michaela’s land is peaceful, scenic, and full of charm—perfect for a relaxing getaway. What really stood out were the friendly farm animals, especially the pony, pigs, dogs and horses, which added a unique and fun experience. The property is well cared for, with plenty of open space. Michaela was a welcoming and thoughtful host, making sure we felt comfortable throughout our stay. If you enjoy nature, animals, and a quiet escape, this spot is definitely worth visiting!

We booked with another family and we had a blast. It was quiet, the water was perfect for the kids to play in and there was a kayak for a bit of fun. The kids loved the different animals visiting, or going to different parts of the property to visit for feeding times. We enjoyed having a short time away close to home.

Our first stay at Hart Hill and we were very impressed with this beautiful bush camp 😀
We were welcomed by Jane on arrival then down the little hill to an open bush camp with sites spaced out all with fire pits, most are along the side of the creek.We stayed at windbreak and only a short walk to the amenities shower/toilet that were kept very clean.
The magic happens at night when clear you will get a million star veiw. A perfect place to site by the fire and take in nature at its best.
Jane was one of the best hosts we have ever had staying at hipcsmps and she takes so much pride in making her property a wonderful experience for you.
This will be a regular for us 😀 can't wait to come back.
