Pets are welcome and must be under control and on a leash as there are farm animals kept on this property. Camp fires are permitted in communal fire areas or at your camp in provided fire drums. Come and relax at our flat, peaceful 5 acre hobby farm. Most animals wander around example the sheep, ducks and chooks, pig. So tough plastic boxes are great to hide your food items. We have a mini pig (Splat) that has her own paddock but she likes to socialise. I'm waiting for fencer to get her back in her paddock again. She loves affection.. 😆 She is super gentle and loves belly rubs and pats. sometimes the horses are at nearby agistment so, ask if the horses cam be here for your visit. Baby animals are seasonal, ducklings and baby chicks in summer and lambs after winter roughly. There are a couple of small playgrounds, clean double flushing toilets, picnic tables, gas bbq and chairs for your convenience and a nice above ground pool to stay cool in. We have firewood for sale, and I make a great expresso coffee if your a coffee lover, like myself. Bring some cash for firewood, coffee and other bits and pieces. There's a kids surprise cupboard, with toys to borrow, for sale or Make a donation and buy it... The $45 camp fee pays for 2 adults and 1 child. Just message me about extra guests as hipcamp adding extras doesn't work properly. You can pay by cash or transfer on arrival if necessary. Extra adults campers I will discount to $15 instead of $20 adults and $5 for kids. We also offer day visits for $5 per person. Plenty of room for caravans, buses and horse floats. I have a round yard and horse yards and horses are $10 per horse/night to cover water costs. BYO hay. Wivenhoe Dam, Atkinson Dam and the Brisbane river are all closeby. The famous rail trail that a lot of horse riders and cyclists enjoy is just a klm down the road. (keep an eye out for koalas) Hope to see you soon at the farm. If you do an instant booking and I don't see it or reply, don't stress, as your welcome to drive on in and straight up the laneway to the back paddock area. The walking tracks range from easy to challenging, with spectacular views from the higher points. An abundance of wildlife live here. Birds range from Kookaburras to Bower Birds. We have a variety of campsites to choose from. . Camping is presently basic as we are building it up and is better suited for campers with fully equipped 4WD. Not all sites have toilets we ve now 3 toilets 1 bottom space 1 mid and 1 at top . Some campsites are more secluded than others, some have toilets some dont and of course great views. The kids will love toasting marshmallows around the campfire in the evenings. Sit back, relax and gaze at the stars. Pets welcome. The property is hilly and may be unsuitable for camper homes. No harming the wildlife, our wildlife is harmless if you do not provoke it or threaten it, Please use water wisely . There are dams and water holes and drains on the property as it is a working farm.

We thoughly enjoyed our time at Bares Hideaway. Camp sites are grassy and level. Facilities were more than adequate. Plenty of room to spread out a little. Close to Granchester Hotel, awesome meals and not too far from Mulgowie when the markets are running. The markets are well worth a visit. Highly recommend staying here for a weekend or a few weeks.

I had an amazing stay at this campground. The grounds were absolutely immaculate, and host Ben was incredibly accommodating and genuinely lovely to chat with. The spa bath was a standout feature for me, and the friendly animals made the stay even better—we were even able to give the pigs a pat inside their pen! There was plenty of space at our site, heaps of yabbys in the dam, and the facilities were spotless and well lit at night. Everything was tidy and well looked after. Truly a fantastic place to stay!

1 night at Waverley Historical Homestead

Fab stay @ Waverley Homestead, would highly recommend. We were lucky enough to have the entire place to ourselves, which made it very special - so quiet, and with stunning views over the paddocks, looking towards the distant mountains. Great for individual campers who like company, but would also be perfect for a small group of friends, as the campfire in the middle makes it great for socializing. Really enjoyed the company of Mikey - resident dog - who is such a sweetheart and hung with us until Gav came home to reclaim him. Gav is lovely - popped down to make sure we had all we needed, and we had a good chat, then he left us to enjoy the solitude. Awesome sunset, and although it was a super hot day, it gradually cooled down and we were able to have a wee campfire, which was magical. Stars were spectacular throughout the night and birdlife lovely to watch in the trees. Plenty of shade for us in our van and flat ground to park up on. Thanks for sharing your lovely land with us Gav & Andria, we'll be back. Melissa & Michael

Directions and communication were clear. Price was good. Surrounds were beautiful. Fire pits for each site and options on where to camp within each site were good too. It was peaceful. Pretty. Inviting. I would stay here again for sure! The goat curry was so yumm and good help when I made enquiries about my food intolerances. I got to camp in a thunderstorm and the place was even more beautiful the morning after. There was one goat who was very friendly and I enjoyed watching the shaggy cows stand in the creek and the kids chase each other up the banks. This was a very good experience
