Site 1 right down on the creek large grass flat space big enough for two families to set up camp. The creek runs around the outside so there are a number of viewing points to see the wildlife mentioned above. A set of solar lights hang over the firepit area allowing for more light while cooking on our wonderful swinging hotplate BBQ.
Site 2 Our newer spot work in progress not so ideal for camper trailers. your situated under our tree line away from the main creek. A smaller paver firepit, plenty fine for sitting around an open fire while watching the stars at night.
Swimming in the creek is not recommended.
So please check by internal message before confirming your booking that way we can confirm a spot while discussing your needs to ensure you have a clear view of your camping area.
Onsite we have our shared outhouse porta toilet which is positioned in the middle of both camping areas for everyone's convenience.

Do some hiking or 4 wheel driving around the hundred acres with our 4 wheel driving tracks.
Meet the Farm Animals where campers can chat with the menagerie of animals we have on the farm such as Clydesdale horses, camels, sheep, cows, chickens, buffalo, peafowl, ducks and friendly geese. Hold newly hatched poultry, friendly chickens and maybe even lambs. Bookings are essential come by the farmhouse and meet at the gazebo.
We are 10mins from Dimbulah or 20mins to Mareeba with their many attractions. We can tell you all about the many attractions and activities this area has to offer.
Please Note: Cattle Creek and Waterfront Campsites are accessible by 2WD. The other campsites are 4WD access only and with off road campers/caravans only (high clearance to get through a dry creek crossing). These are self contained sites so please take your own shower and toilet facilities and take away all waste. Well behaved dogs are allowed but must be supervised at all times for the protection of the sheep, poultry, wildlife and not to be brought to the house yard. Sorry no motorbikes or ATV’s.

We have a beautiful freshwater swimming hole down the road, and also the Mulgrave River is very close if you want to do some fishing.The camping area is large, grassy and reasonably level, with space closer to the tree line, and space more out in the open. There is a firepit provided, and plenty of firewood around the place for you to help yourself to. We also welcome four-legged family members! We have had recent sightings of cassowary on our property so keep an eye out, you might just see one!We prefer self-contained campers, who have their own amenities, but we do have a toilet and shower up at the main house (about 50 metres away) you are welcome to use if needed. This is an unused bathroom downstairs so you will still have privacy. Access into the property is not suitable for large motorhomes. Entry will be too small for vehicles approx 8.5 metres long and 3.5 metres high.We grow exotic fruit on the property including limes, pomelos, mangosteens and more. When it's in season, you're welcome to sample some! Gordonvale is the nearest town, with a quiet historic charm, just 15 minutes drive away, while Cairns is around 25 minutes.

Cleared slashed areas beside the river. Enjoy a river swim to cool you down during summer and go for a cold dip during winter. River is also good for fishing during the right season. Access to river is 100 metres on graded walking track.
Unless you have a ‘booster ’there is very limited mobile coverage or internet. {enjoy the peace and solitude}
Access to the property is fourteen kilometres gravel, coming off the highway.
Sites are private separated from each other, some sites suit clothing optional guests
Site is 300 metres from road and provides privacy. Tents and small caravans are ideal. Not suitable for highway caravans or very large vans as the access will be too rough.
There are walking areas at rear of property. Be aware tropical North Queensland has paralysis ticks and we have snakes at times and visiting pigs.

Flaggy Creek Caravan Camp is set on a private 260 acre rural property at the end of an unsealed road surrounded by the peace and serenity of state forest. A highlight is a beautiful permanent creek which meanders its way through the property for approximately 1 km and is habitat to platypus, turtles, an abundance of bird life with towering blue and rose gums. Take a dip on a hot day in one of several water holes including a large lagoon adjacent a mini waterfall surrounded by beautiful she-oaks.
We have 4 available campsites, spread well apart (although visible) all with amazing views.. Maximum occupancy per campsite is 2 guests (of any age). All camp sites have their own fire pit (season permitting). We sell large crates of split firewood for $20 or you can collect your own from the property. Please do not bring firewood onto the property for biosecurity reasons.
If you are traveling with friends and everyone wants to book a site with us we would be delighted to host you but please ensure that you set up your caravan/tent/swag individually at each site noting the maximum occupancy of 2 guests per site.

Yindilli Camping Ground is set amongst some of the most beautiful open eucalypt forests and rainforests of north Queensland and is located on the CREB Track, a popular 4WD tourist route. Nearby is the iconic Roaring Meg Falls.
The track is not suitable for towing caravans. We are 38klms from Daintree Village on the CREB Track (also known as Upper Daintree Rd) and it will take about 2.5hrs to drive as the road is unsealed, steep in sections and narrow. Be aware of weather conditions before travelling on this road as minimal rainfall can make the track slippery.
An alternative route to Yindilli Camping ground is from the northern end of the track from Bloomfield via the China Camp Rd or the Zig Zag Track - both meet up with the CREB Track. We are 27klms from Bloomfield or 1 hour to drive, this section is graded regularly and easy to traverse in the dry season.The campsites have access to a freshwater creek for swimming and relaxing. The birdlife is abundant, including the occasional glimpse of a Cassowary. Camp sites are on 2.5ha of lush green lawns, lots of shade and within metres of a fresh water creek for swimming and relaxing.
Facilities include: septic toilets, showers, dry firewood (on request) and spacious sites
Children and pet friendly.
Guests are advised to only light fires in designated areas and these must be fully extinguished before departure.

The property has had changes to 3 sites which happened on December the 17th 2023 at around 6am in the Morning we were awoken to the sounds of timber and dirt hitting the house and in a matter of 2 hrs sites 1 /2 and 3 were totally destroyed and the Trevethan Creek was directed through our property, This event was a Landslide from the top of the Moutain which went through the Trevethan Falls and the trees and dirt got caught up in a bottle neck down from the falls. We already had 3 .5 Meters of rain in 4 days! the bottle neck broke out at 6 am hitting us like a freight train and the rest is a good story to tell around a fireplace. We are working hard to clean up sites 1 /2 and 3 which I can see results. Site 1 is open and is very good with water running by the site/ Site 2 is open and we are currently doing work on the new site 2 / Site 3 is currently moved until we clean up the old site. We have a new Site which is Site7 on the creek and very private and Site 4 on the dam and Sites 5 and 6 are bush camps and are very Private. We are hoping to see the tree Kangaroos coming back as well which are good viewing from Midnight on wards to 3 am.
Please come and stay we have more sites planed for the future.

Entry will be too small for vehicles approx 8.5 metres long and 3.5 metres high.We grow exotic fruit on the property including limes, pomelos, mangosteens and more. Flaggy Creek Caravan Camp is set on a private 260 acre rural property at the end of an unsealed road surrounded by the peace and serenity of state forest. A highlight is a beautiful permanent creek which meanders its way through the property for approximately 1 km and is habitat to platypus, turtles, an abundance of bird life with towering blue and rose gums. Take a dip on a hot day in one of several water holes including a large lagoon adjacent a mini waterfall surrounded by beautiful she-oaks.
We have 4 available campsites, spread well apart (although visible) all with amazing views.. Maximum occupancy per campsite is 2 guests (of any age). All camp sites have their own fire pit (season permitting). We sell large crates of split firewood for $20 or you can collect your own from the property. Please do not bring firewood onto the property for biosecurity reasons.
If you are traveling with friends and everyone wants to book a site with us we would be delighted to host you but please ensure that you set up your caravan/tent/swag individually at each site noting the maximum occupancy of 2 guests per site.

Yindilli Camping Ground is set amongst some of the most beautiful open eucalypt forests and rainforests of north Queensland and is located on the CREB Track, a popular 4WD tourist route. Nearby is the iconic Roaring Meg Falls.
The track is not suitable for towing caravans. We are 38klms from Daintree Village on the CREB Track (also known as Upper Daintree Rd) and it will take about 2.5hrs to drive as the road is unsealed, steep in sections and narrow. Be aware of weather conditions before travelling on this road as minimal rainfall can make the track slippery.
An alternative route to Yindilli Camping ground is from the northern end of the track from Bloomfield via the China Camp Rd or the Zig Zag Track - both meet up with the CREB Track. We are 27klms from Bloomfield or 1 hour to drive, this section is graded regularly and easy to traverse in the dry season.The campsites have access to a freshwater creek for swimming and relaxing. The birdlife is abundant, including the occasional glimpse of a Cassowary. Camp sites are on 2.5ha of lush green lawns, lots of shade and within metres of a fresh water creek for swimming and relaxing.
Facilities include: septic toilets, showers, dry firewood (on request) and spacious sites
Children and pet friendly.
Guests are advised to only light fires in designated areas and these must be fully extinguished before departure.

The property has had changes to 3 sites which happened on December the 17th 2023 at around 6am in the Morning we were awoken to the sounds of timber and dirt hitting the house and in a matter of 2 hrs sites 1 /2 and 3 were totally destroyed and the Trevethan Creek was directed through our property, This event was a Landslide from the top of the Moutain which went through the Trevethan Falls and the trees and dirt got caught up in a bottle neck down from the falls. We already had 3 .5 Meters of rain in 4 days! the bottle neck broke out at 6 am hitting us like a freight train and the rest is a good story to tell around a fireplace. We are working hard to clean up sites 1 /2 and 3 which I can see results. Site 1 is open and is very good with water running by the site/ Site 2 is open and we are currently doing work on the new site 2 / Site 3 is currently moved until we clean up the old site. We have a new Site which is Site7 on the creek and very private and Site 4 on the dam and Sites 5 and 6 are bush camps and are very Private. We are hoping to see the tree Kangaroos coming back as well which are good viewing from Midnight on wards to 3 am.

Dean & family go WAY beyond to help make sure everyone is comfortable.
Creek is beautiful & filled very quick with rain
Walk to the falls was great.
Amenities area are immaculately kept & a credit to how well the family run it
10/10 will definitely be back

We had great stay at Lakeland camping ground on Christmas Day. We got in late, meet joy & she was super friendly, we had the place to ourselves. The amenities were good & clean & handy camp kitchen. There dog end up staying with us at our camp set up which was super cute. Could easy of stayed few days & spent more time relaxing or fishing in the lake. Definitely would say again if out that way.

We had a wonderful stay here. Dean is an incredibly kind and welcoming host—he greeted us at the gate, showed us around the campground, and shared lots of helpful local advice. The atmosphere is very calm and relaxing, and the bathrooms were spotless and well maintained. The campground has everything you need for a comfortable stay, and being able to take a refreshing dip in the creek was a real highlight. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful and well-run camping experience.

Baron river retreat isn’t just a beautiful place for camping for a few nights, it’s a special place that soothes the soul and refreshes and recharges you. From the moment you arrive and drive down through the farm, giving a cheeky wave to the cows you can feel your troubles melt away. The camp site itself has so much space and options for all tastes from lush grass in full sun to shady spots under the trees, all of which are flat and easy to set up on. Where ever you choose to make home for the time you are here you will be able to hear the gentle sounds of water bubbling over the rapids while you’re serenaded by the kookaburras. There’s a wonderful flat area next to the river which is perfect to have your morning coffee and if you’re lucky you might spot the resident platypus. Go for a refreshing swim, a paddle up the river or brave one of the rapid pools for a refreshing massage. And to top it all off you can finish the day with a hot shower courtesy of the donkey hot water system followed by toasting marshmallows around the fire pit while looking for fireflies. The green loo is a bonus for those who don’t do “bushy bushy”
You will not regret a stay at Baron River retreat and the hardest thing is leaving at the end of the stay.
