There's 1,375 acres of land - the boundaries of our property are the ridges of the mountains that encircle us, and many rare species abound here.
This is a dog and horse friendly property but no pets allowed in the cabin. There is paralysis tick in this region - so we'd recommend treating any animal before you come and frequent checks while you're here.

Our venue and campgrounds are situated at the old Jimna State School property. The school closed in 2009 with the last students attending in 2006. It was then sold by the Qld government and has been rezoned as a Camping, Recreation and Events Venue. We have retained all the old school facilities for our campers to enjoy. There is a children’s playground and multi-purpose tennis court for everyone to enjoy. We provide tennis rackets, balls and basketballs free of charge to our campers. There is also no charge or fee to use the court. On most Sundays afternoons (weather permitting), we have social tennis where everyone is welcome to join in.
The old school toilet blocks have the addition of hot showers and all toilet facilities are the flushing type.
Campfires are permitted and there are small mobile fire pits provided so wherever you set up camp you can have your campfire right beside you.
Note: There are no ground fires permitted and at certain times of the year Qld Rural Fire brigade may enforce a total fire ban.
We have our “Caffeine Injection” kiosk on-site for the weekends and school holidays. Get your morning caffeine fix as well as bagged ice, firewood, ice creams, snacks, cold drinks etc etc
Then we have the old school principals residence aka “The Bush Holiday House“. It is fully self-contained and all linen is provided.

I have access to the rail trail via private property, or otherwise you can utilise Staines Road to get into Benarkin State Forestry or the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail.
Dogs are also welcome who are well behaved and on a leash if others have horses with them. Please note that you MUST ensure your dog has tick prevention prior to arrival. Bookings require pre approval please. This is non negotiable to prepare for your stay.
All welcome to visit and please enjoy a campsite that will only ever have 2 bookings at a time in the 1 acre camping area.

There’s no electricity at The Shack, but solar lights, a solar-powered fridge, gas hot water, a gas BBQ, and a small gas stove ensure all the essentials are covered. Mobile reception is patchy — we encourage guests to put their phones aside, unwind, and let the outside world drift away while you reconnect with nature.
Dogs are welcome but must be secured at all times. There’s a dog-proof fence around The Shack, but it is the guests’ responsibility to ensure pets remain within the fenced area or on a lead when walking on the property.

Bunya Red Farm is 8 kms off the Bunya Highway, with the last few kilometres of gravel road accessible by 2WD, motorhomes or buses.

Our venue and campgrounds are situated at the old Jimna State School property. The school closed in 2009 with the last students attending in 2006. It was then sold by the Qld government and has been rezoned as a Camping, Recreation and Events Venue. We have retained all the old school facilities for our campers to enjoy. Dogs are also welcome who are well behaved and on a leash if others have horses with them. Please note that you MUST ensure your dog has tick prevention prior to arrival. Bookings require pre approval please. This is non negotiable to prepare for your stay.

Mobile reception is patchy — we encourage guests to put their phones aside, unwind, and let the outside world drift away while you reconnect with nature.

Paul’s place is a gorgeous escape from the business of life, surrounded by trees and birdsong this little gem makes for a relaxing trip away for those who enjoy the tranquility of being outside. The caravan pad is totally set up with hot showers working oven and stove top, water and a comfy bed to sleep.
The swimming hole is fresh and has many small fish and even a turtle.

Beautiful location and quiet glamping spot to zone out and reset..
Great base level of utensils, bedding supplied. You could literally bring your food and clothes and be pretty well set.

We loved the cabin, it was so comfortable and had every amenity. It is located in a beautiful secluded area with green grass, trees and a pergola. We enjoyed having a campfire anytime of the day and night. This is a beautiful little piece of paradise to relax, unwind and get back to nature.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Stargazers! The cows came to visit and the horses were very friendly and tolerable of our excitable GSD. The full fence is a bonus! We enjoyed the campfire where we cooked a steak dinner. Even in the wind and rain the cabin felt so cosy and well equipped. Avon and Brian are excellent hosts and we hope to be back for a longer stay soon! Many thanks!

This was a great getaway. The Shack had everything you needed. Hosts met us and gave us the rundown and let us be. Enjoyed walks through the farm and the animals - lots of birds, frogs, and deer.
Very peaceful and relaxing.
Definitely somewhere we will return to.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the family bush cabin at Hope Valley. Anita is a very kind and hospitable host and the property is great to explore and to see animals including both domesticated and wild. The kids particularly enjoyed the animals and playing in and adventuring up and down the creek.
The family cabin is well appointed and has everything we needed to make the stay a great one. You definitely need a 4WD to get up the driveway to the cabin itself.
The outdoor hot tub (optional extra) is also great if of interest.
Hope Valley is a great location to get away from it all and to relax - we hope to return again in the future. Very highly recommended.

This is our second stay at Avon’s and Brian’s beautiful cabin and we loved it just as much as the first time!
As usual, their horses visited us every day and it was nice to have the addition of cattle grazing around us as well.
We cooked our roast lamb and veggies in the camp oven and it was absolutely delicious, thanks to the fresh herbs from the garden.
Avon was a wonderful host as usual and we can’t wait to go back there again!

We love staying at Paul's hipcamp. Directions were clear, Paul was friendly and accommodating, the sites were private and the facilities clean. The caravan was gorgeous, overlooking the creek, with lots of bird life. Hot outdoor shower was an unexpected bonus! We would definitely come back and stay.

very nice place to wind down off the grid. Green everywhere, place is fenced thoroughly so it is fine to leave your little ones running around. Place is equipped with everything you need including utensils, showers, fridge etc.
