Anduramba Bush Camping is located on a 300 acre property approximately 15 minutes south of Blackbutt, Qld. The campsite is on top of a hill with great views. There’s a small cabin on site, you can book the campsite either with or without this. The cabin is quite basic, it has 12v lighting with a USB port suitable for charging phones etc, and a bunk bed with mattresses (double bottom, single top), but you'll need to bring your own bedding. Property features - - Dogs welcome (just don't let them wander off) - Portaloo (flushing) - Shower hut (uses shower bags) - Non drinkable water available for washing etc, BYO drinking water - Firewood available to collect - Table tennis table free to use - Covered concrete area underneath a shed awning which you can use - Good phone reception at the campsite - Accessible by 4WD or 2WD via Blackbutt, Esk or Crow's Nest, however after extreme rain events this can sometimes change due to flooding or damage to the road. Please note the roads are gravel with erosion mounds, dips and some rough sections, so you need a bit of ground clearance. There are many things to do in Blackbutt as well as spending some time at The Croft. Every 3rd Sunday is our market day, the renowned Blackbutt Bakery is always at your disposal and a great pub for a pub grub night. The horse trails network is 500m up the road and has signage with town 1 hour ride away which I can take you on a ride to on the 3rd Sunday Market Day! I have access to the rail trail via private property, or otherwise you can utilise Staines Road to get into Benarkin State Forestry or the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail. Dogs are also welcome who are well behaved and on a leash if others have horses with them. Please note that you MUST ensure your dog has tick prevention prior to arrival. Bookings require pre approval please. This is non negotiable to prepare for your stay. All welcome to visit and please enjoy a campsite that will only ever have 2 bookings at a time in the 1 acre camping area. We have several peaceful campsites available on our off grid property near Crows Nest. Also a private glamping site with a 5m Bell Tent - with everything you need for a relaxing night away. We are 10km north of the town of Crows Nest on the Great Dividing Range. 50 minutes from Toowoomba and 2 hours from Brisbane. The hill on the property (Flat Top) is one of the highest points in the area at 700m altitude. From the hilltop, you can enjoy 360-degree views of the surrounding area, with views across the Esk Valley towards the Sunshine Coast and sunsets over the hills surrounding Crows Nest. There are 3 separate campsites on the hilltop, and another site further down the hill alongside the main driveway. It is very quiet and peaceful, yet only a 10-minute drive to Crows Nest. Our venue and campgrounds are situated at the old Jimna State School property. The school closed in 2009 with the last students attending in 2006. It was then sold by the Qld government and has been rezoned as a Camping, Recreation and Events Venue. We have retained all the old school facilities for our campers to enjoy. There is a children’s playground and multi-purpose tennis court for everyone to enjoy. We provide tennis rackets, balls and basketballs free of charge to our campers. There is also no charge or fee to use the court. On most Sundays afternoons (weather permitting), we have social tennis where everyone is welcome to join in. The old school toilet blocks have the addition of hot showers and all toilet facilities are the flushing type. Campfires are permitted and there are small mobile fire pits provided so wherever you set up camp you can have your campfire right beside you. Note: There are no ground fires permitted and at certain times of the year Qld Rural Fire brigade may enforce a total fire ban. We have our “Caffeine Injection” kiosk on-site for the weekends and school holidays. Get your morning caffeine fix as well as bagged ice, firewood, ice creams, snacks, cold drinks etc etc Then we have the old school principals residence aka “The Bush Holiday House“. It is fully self-contained and all linen is provided. Just BYO food & drinks. We offer this for one night stays and longer. Jimna is a tiny town immersed in the Australian bush; with nearby gorges, ravines, creeks and waterfalls - some wild & spectacular places to see. Such a beautiful, secluded spot, we didn’t see another person the entire time we were there. The whole setup was amazing. Everything felt comfortable and thoughtfully done, without being overly modern or losing that cosy camping feel. Definitely my version of camping 🙌 We also ventured out for a couple of nearby hikes and spent some time exploring the local town. The hosts were incredibly helpful and communicative throughout, which made the whole stay even easier. Would definitely stay here again!

Weekend Trip to Runella

It's hard to believe anywhere can still be this quiet! We really enjoy the simplicity and that feeling of being able to turn back the clock a little. Rose and Dennis offer welcoming hospitality and the Shack has everything you need. The open space goes on forever and delivers beautiful sunsets & rises. With plenty of firewood provided the bush tv (fire) keeps the entertainment going. If you have not ventured in a westerly direction I'd highly recommend the Shack. The night sky will amaze you with more stars and satellites than you can imagine. There are lots of country towns around offering many activities, attractions and good food. Check out the Army Aviation Museum in Oakey, it's even free. Yep, I highly recommend the Shack for a country reset.

Shack on Kent is such a hidden gem of a hip camp! This was a last minute booking due to change of the weather and what a pleasant surprise. The shack is such a quirky little place that has everything you need. We loved the addition of the indoor fire and donkey for the hot water. The area is so peaceful and quiet - we only heard the birds and the residents cows! The winter night sky was so clear we could easily see the Milkyway and the sunsets are utterly breathtaking. Rose was such a lovely host and very welcoming and helpful. We feel privileged to find this place and we’ll definitely be back. Thank you Rose and Denis (and the resident cows).

Beautiful location, the animals are so friendly they are literally on your back door 😀 They cater for everything you could need. Supplied firewood for the outdoor fire is fantastic. So peaceful and highly recommended !

Weekend Trip to Runella

We loved staying here. The area is beautiful, the sunsets stunning, the space and quiet such a nice change from everyday life. The cabin is old school, rustic charm, with everything you need. The kids loved cooking over the open fire and being responsible for the donkey so we could all have hot showers before bed. Rose and Dennis are lovely people, and our timing even saw the kids help Rose feed the horses one afternoon. I'd recommend arriving before dark as it's easier to find however a quick call to Rose saw her and Dennis come out to meet and direct us. Highly recommend.

5 nights at Runella

We had an absolutely amazing time glamping at Runella, it was absolutely paradise. The inside fire was soo lovely and the donkey experience was fun, we looked forward to our well earned baths watching the cows and sunsets. We enjoyed the peace and beautiful views from every window. Thank you sooo much Rose and Dennis for sharing your beautiful shack with us.
