Anduramba Bush Camping is located on a 300 acre property approximately 15 minutes south of Blackbutt, Qld. The campsite is on top of a hill with great views. There’s a small cabin on site, you can book the campsite either with or without this. The cabin is quite basic, it has 12v lighting with a USB port suitable for charging phones etc, and a bunk bed with mattresses (double bottom, single top), but you'll need to bring your own bedding. Property features - - Dogs welcome (just don't let them wander off) - Portaloo (flushing) - Shower hut (uses shower bags) - Non drinkable water available for washing etc, BYO drinking water - Firewood available to collect - Table tennis table free to use - Covered concrete area underneath a shed awning which you can use - Good phone reception at the campsite - Accessible by 4WD or 2WD via Blackbutt, Esk or Crow's Nest, however after extreme rain events this can sometimes change due to flooding or damage to the road. Please note the roads are gravel with erosion mounds, dips and some rough sections, so you need a bit of ground clearance. Every 3rd Sunday is our market day, the renowned Blackbutt Bakery is always at your disposal and a great pub for a pub grub night. The horse trails network is 500m up the road and has signage with town 1 hour ride away which I can take you on a ride to on the 3rd Sunday Market Day! I have access to the rail trail via private property, or otherwise you can utilise Staines Road to get into Benarkin State Forestry or the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail. Dogs are also welcome who are well behaved and on a leash if others have horses with them. Please note that you MUST ensure your dog has tick prevention prior to arrival. Bookings require pre approval please. This is non negotiable to prepare for your stay. All welcome to visit and please enjoy a campsite that will only ever have 2 bookings at a time in the 1 acre camping area. We have several peaceful campsites available on our off grid property near Crows Nest. Also a private glamping site with a 5m Bell Tent - with everything you need for a relaxing night away. We are 10km north of the town of Crows Nest on the Great Dividing Range. 50 minutes from Toowoomba and 2 hours from Brisbane. The hill on the property (Flat Top) is one of the highest points in the area at 700m altitude. From the hilltop, you can enjoy 360-degree views of the surrounding area, with views across the Esk Valley towards the Sunshine Coast and sunsets over the hills surrounding Crows Nest. There are 3 separate campsites on the hilltop, and another site further down the hill alongside the main driveway. It is very quiet and peaceful, yet only a 10-minute drive to Crows Nest. Our venue and campgrounds are situated at the old Jimna State School property. The school closed in 2009 with the last students attending in 2006. It was then sold by the Qld government and has been rezoned as a Camping, Recreation and Events Venue. We have retained all the old school facilities for our campers to enjoy. There is a children’s playground and multi-purpose tennis court for everyone to enjoy. We provide tennis rackets, balls and basketballs free of charge to our campers. There is also no charge or fee to use the court. On most Sundays afternoons (weather permitting), we have social tennis where everyone is welcome to join in. The old school toilet blocks have the addition of hot showers and all toilet facilities are the flushing type. Campfires are permitted and there are small mobile fire pits provided so wherever you set up camp you can have your campfire right beside you. Note: There are no ground fires permitted and at certain times of the year Qld Rural Fire brigade may enforce a total fire ban. We have our “Caffeine Injection” kiosk on-site for the weekends and school holidays. Get your morning caffeine fix as well as bagged ice, firewood, ice creams, snacks, cold drinks etc etc Then we have the old school principals residence aka “The Bush Holiday House“. It is fully self-contained and all linen is provided. Just BYO food & drinks. We offer this for one night stays and longer. A Magical, Soul-Stirring Off-Grid Sanctuary! ★★★★★ We came home. Arriving here felt like stepping back in time to a simpler, truer reality. Our wonderful host, Rose, was ready for us, but the land dictates its own pace. She was out on the tractor rolling feed for the cows, who watched our arrival with gentle, curious eyes, as if genuinely glad for the company. When she finished, she welcomed us with true warmth. Rose helped us get the off-grid fire going to heat the water—a beautiful return to the old ways. The stunning 70-year-old shed is a rustic masterpiece. Framed by two ancient bottle trees, the interior decor instantly whispered "home" to my soul, deeply resonating with my roots growing up in the bush in a faraway land. It proves the spirit of the land is universal. As the sun set, an incredible dusk engulfed the sky, almost showing off for our delight. Once darkness fell, the sky truly danced. With zero electricity and no phone signal, we were forced to disconnect from the world to truly connect with ourselves. The Milky Way was blindingly visible, guiding us home, while inside, the crackling fireplace cuddled us in warmth, whispering you are safe. Rose ensured we could reach her anytime, which was incredibly reassuring. The morning was pure magic. After a golden sunrise and some beautiful time interacting with the cows and horses, we actually went back to bed. Everything here is completely unhurried, peaceful, and deeply relaxing. We will be back in no time.

Very clean and tidy camp site with handy cabin and toilet and great view. Dave was very helpful and accommodating. The camp site is spacious enough for a big crowd and is very private. We truly enjoyed our stay and have already booked to go back again. Tnx Dave 🙂

My husband and I had the most restful and relaxing time at the shack. No “power” but everything you need to feel comfortable. Rose and Denis were incredibly generous and beautiful people. Denis even took us on a tour of the cotton fields and taught us how it’s farmed, which made the experience even more special. The highlight was the incredible sunsets, especially heating up the donkey for a bath and watching the sun go down through the window. We’d come back in a heartbeat next time we’re in the area!

This glamping site was amazing! It had everything you need for a comfortable stay. Nice hot shower, amazing views, friendly animals, great fire pit. Will absolutely be coming back.

Weekend Trip to Runella

We had a great stay at The Shack! The cabin is rustic, but excellently set up with everything you need if you are looking to take a break and enjoy the peace and quiet. We travelled with our two young kids and a small dog, and everyone loved being out in the countryside and sitting around the fire as the sun went down. Rose was a great host and I would highly recommend a stay at The Shack.

Such a lovely stay, gorgeous and peaceful and so well put together!! Everything one would need camping. And it was lots of fun to cook on the fire! Would highly reccomend! We will definitely be back

Weekend Trip to Hilltop Farm, Camping and Glamping.

We usually have our own set up but, due to an eye operation, we had to use a glamping site over Easter. Given that we have never used this form of camping before we have nothing to compare with. Needless to say, everything was well set out and very comfortable and private. Plenty of walking tracks in the area, and close enough to town to head in for lunch/dinner if required. Very peaceful and relaxing, highly recommended!

Cracker of a camping experience. Site had fantastic views, was very private and plenty of room for everyone. Dave was very accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed. Would recommend to anyone.

Weekend Trip to Maison de lavande Farmstay

This farm stay was the perfect escape for a night! The animals are all so friendly, and a nice surprise at the back door when waking up in the morning. The cabin had everything we needed with very comfortable beds, and we were lucky to have a beautiful sunset while sitting by the fire. Can't wait to come back!

Weekend Trip to Bushland Waters

So I think the biggest surprise for me was that you can't swim. The waterfall (photographed) is actually a small water feature less than 0.6m deep, there is only shallow stagnant water, no where to swim. But it does make a pretty relaxing sounds. However, we had an amazing time!!! The hammocks were so relaxing, the outside bathtubs had hot water! It was romantic and calming. The yurt really is so unique and comfortable. We went in summer and even without AC, the fan provided and the design of the tent- was suprisingly cool. Worth noting very limited cooking facilities e.g. camp stove and small BBQ, no microwave. But the pub in town makes a brilliant steak and parmy. No bubbly or charcuterie board (for display only - not provided) Mold on yurt - honestly it was immaculately clean inside and an outside white fabric structure will have this but worth noting if you have asthma or immunocompromised. Overall would stay again. They had the softest pillows and bathmat. Bathroom is immaculate clean and lovely smelling with fresh towels provided. Communication was easy and we had our privacy. Is about 500m from main house, but we didn't see another soul and hosts were lovely about giving directions.
