There's 1,375 acres of land - the boundaries of our property are the ridges of the mountains that encircle us, and many rare species abound here. This is a dog and horse friendly property but no pets allowed in the cabin. There is paralysis tick in this region - so we'd recommend treating any animal before you come and frequent checks while you're here. No mobile phone coverage at the cabin, but there is a hill you can drive (or walk) up on the property to get phone signal if needed and we have a landline phone in our house which can be used in emergencies.

Our venue and campgrounds are situated at the old Jimna State School property. The school closed in 2009 with the last students attending in 2006. It was then sold by the Qld government and has been rezoned as a Camping, Recreation and Events Venue. We have retained all the old school facilities for our campers to enjoy. There is a children’s playground and multi-purpose tennis court for everyone to enjoy. We provide tennis rackets, balls and basketballs free of charge to our campers. There is also no charge or fee to use the court. On most Sundays afternoons (weather permitting), we have social tennis where everyone is welcome to join in. The old school toilet blocks have the addition of hot showers and all toilet facilities are the flushing type. Our property is situated on the banks of the great sandy strait just 400m from the Tuan Boat ramp with access to Fraser Island by boat or kayak. We are surrounded by Tuan State Forest and wetlands. There is a medium sized dam on the property for swimming.The Tuan Forshore has a park, BBQ area and picnic tables as well as garbage disposal. There is plenty of space in the surrounding forests for mountain biking, motor-biking and walking. 3km down the road in Boonooroo you will find a large park with tennis court and public BBQ's. The bowls club and Golf Club just 3km away and serve meals on weekends. This site is suitable for caravans, RV's, camper trailers. There is NO toilet facility on the property. We are VERY dog friendly and can be off lead as long as the dogs are friendly towards people and other dogs and don't bite our horses. We also have other peoples horses agisting in paddocks. Activities you can do include boating, kayaking, swimming, fishing, crabbing, walking, stand up paddle boarding, bird watching, kangaroo spotting, playing in the parks, beach tennis, mountain biking, hiking etc. Camp sites are far from the main house and other sites so you can have camp fires and play music, use generators without worry. Campers will need to be self contained (rubbish and toilets) and please leave your campsite the way you found it. Don't leave toilet paper or rubbish in fire pits please. Enter / Exit the main gate by pushing the code into the key pad. Gate closes after 20 seconds once it is fully open so be quick. NOTE: ***During Summer- November, December, January and February there are midgees (sandflies) at dusk and dawn and we do recommend midgee screening or spraying the mesh on your caravan windows as the standard mozzie mesh will not keep them out. Bring coils, a fan as they hate any breeze, bug spray and long sleeved pants and tops to wear in the evenings from about 5pm-7pm!*** *4X4's are recommended if you don't stay along the fence line as it can get muddy if there has been lots of rain. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Stargazers! The cows came to visit and the horses were very friendly and tolerable of our excitable GSD. The full fence is a bonus! We enjoyed the campfire where we cooked a steak dinner. Even in the wind and rain the cabin felt so cosy and well equipped. Avon and Brian are excellent hosts and we hope to be back for a longer stay soon! Many thanks!

Weekend Trip to Hidden Gem

This was a great getaway. The Shack had everything you needed. Hosts met us and gave us the rundown and let us be. Enjoyed walks through the farm and the animals - lots of birds, frogs, and deer. Very peaceful and relaxing. Definitely somewhere we will return to.

A peaceful and clean glamping spot surrounded by nature. The facilities are well‑equipped, and everything is kept in great condition. Nick, the caretaker, is incredibly friendly and clearly puts a lot of effort into maintaining the place. Just remember to bring mosquito protection.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the family bush cabin at Hope Valley. Anita is a very kind and hospitable host and the property is great to explore and to see animals including both domesticated and wild. The kids particularly enjoyed the animals and playing in and adventuring up and down the creek. The family cabin is well appointed and has everything we needed to make the stay a great one. You definitely need a 4WD to get up the driveway to the cabin itself. The outdoor hot tub (optional extra) is also great if of interest. Hope Valley is a great location to get away from it all and to relax - we hope to return again in the future. Very highly recommended.

Weekend Trip to Stargazers cabin

This is our second stay at Avon’s and Brian’s beautiful cabin and we loved it just as much as the first time! As usual, their horses visited us every day and it was nice to have the addition of cattle grazing around us as well. We cooked our roast lamb and veggies in the camp oven and it was absolutely delicious, thanks to the fresh herbs from the garden. Avon was a wonderful host as usual and we can’t wait to go back there again!

We love staying at Paul's hipcamp. Directions were clear, Paul was friendly and accommodating, the sites were private and the facilities clean. The caravan was gorgeous, overlooking the creek, with lots of bird life. Hot outdoor shower was an unexpected bonus! We would definitely come back and stay. Thanks for having us!

very nice place to wind down off the grid. Green everywhere, place is fenced thoroughly so it is fine to leave your little ones running around. Place is equipped with everything you need including utensils, showers, fridge etc.

2 nights at A Tent in The Forest

This place is lovely and great for first time glampers. Its very peaceful and is a great spot to escape the city life. The outdoor kitchen space is very nice and extremely convenient with fresh water, stove and Fridge. The bathroom was also very convenient with the compostable toilet and gass shower. Ian has also painted spots on the trees located behind and up from the tent that lead to some secluded water holes. The walk is so nice and the water would have been incredible but unfortunately there hadn't been any rain so we couldn't swim in them. But still a lovely walk through the bush! There is a little town called Pomona that is about 30 minutes away and it has such a wonderful energy about it. I instantly fell in love with the simplicity and beauty. Make sure to pack, wood, fire starters and kindling Power banks - charge your torches and electronics. BRING YOUR OWN PILLOW, trust me. All and all, this place is great and definitely recommend.

My family and i absolutely loved our stay at GG's ranch. We spent four nights over the Christmas period. The cottages were clean and rustic. Large modern bathroom was a bonus. Kitchen was well equipped to cook up our Christmas feast. Our grandson and pets loved the wide open spaces. One of our highlights was sitting on the deck each morning and watching the many black cockatoos flying over. We would love to return one day.
