We have close access to some beautiful nearby creeks and walking trails. With Four Mile beach, Spring Creek Falls, Mowbray Falls all at your door step there is endless adventures to be had. The property is right near the Mowbray National Park and the Bump Track which is a popular and memorable mountain-biking experience for those who love to ride. Our shallow freshwater creeks are refreshing to explore and, for deep water swimming and kayaking, it's only a five minute drive to Babinda Crossing. Hikers can explore our headlands or venture further to dedicated hiking trails including scaling the 922 metre high Walsh's Pyramid that's only a ten minute drive away. Birdwatchers are spoiled for choice day and night, beautiful insects are in abundance, small native marsupials and reptiles are regularly seen, and the waterways are home to a variety of tropical fish as well as the occasional crocodile in the main river. We’re a great base location for exploring the area as we’re only 15 minutes to the town of Gordonvale and less than an hour to Cairns International Airport, the Great Barrier Reef and the Atherton Tablelands. Boaties can take the ten minute drive to Deeral Boat Ramp to launch their vessel and head down the Mulgrave River to Russel Heads and out to the Great Barrier Reef and islands.

Flaggy Creek Caravan/Camping

Flaggy Creek Caravan Camp is set on a private 260 acre rural property at the end of an unsealed road surrounded by the peace and serenity of state forest. A highlight is a beautiful permanent creek which meanders its way through the property for approximately 1 km and is habitat to platypus, turtles, an abundance of bird life and towering blue and rose gums. Take a dip on a hot day in one of several water holes including a large lagoon adjacent a mini waterfall surrounded by beautiful she-oaks. We have 5 available campsites, spread well apart, all with amazing views. 4 are close to or on the banks of Flaggy Creek. Bluff View campsite (a favourite spot of ours) is set in a large grassy field near an iron bark tree, 150m via a mowed track to the creek. Maximum occupancy per campsite is 2 guests (of any age). All camp sites have their own fire pit (season permitting). We sell large crates of split firewood for $20 or you can collect your own from the property. If you are traveling with friends and everyone wants to book a site with us we would be delighted to host you but please ensure that you set up your caravan/tent/swag individually at each site noting the maximum occupancy of 2 guests per site.

A smaller paver firepit, plenty fine for sitting around an open fire while watching the stars at night. There is a 360 degree view from the property, with nothing made by man in the way. When we purchased this property 37 years ago and built our unique home, it was denuded cattle land, and now we are surrounded by the most beautiful rainforest. We planted approximately 8000 trees.! We have 4 sites available all close to the river, and can provide water as well as access to our toilet. We are agile wallaby carers, with the rescued joeys being released back into the forest from here. After a day of kayaking or hiking or exploring the area we also offer a sunset massage (as available ) by a local masseuse who lives on the property. Miallo Lakehouse is situated on a private farm allocated along a beautiful rainforest stream that is perfect for swimming and relaxing. The location is perfect as a base camp to explore this fantastic region, just 8 minutes from Mossman, 20 minutes from Port Douglas, and 20 minutes from the Daintree. Sites are located by the stream and are well-shaded in the afternoon and morning, but with enough sunny space to charge solar panels. Adjacent to the campsites are horse and cattle paddocks, where you'll see our animals grazing. All campers need to be self-contained with their own camp toilet. There is however water available. Well-behaved pets are welcome too!

Our shallow freshwater creeks are refreshing to explore and, for deep water swimming and kayaking, it's only a five minute drive to Babinda Crossing. Hikers can explore our headlands or venture further to dedicated hiking trails including scaling the 922 metre high Walsh's Pyramid that's only a ten minute drive away. Birdwatchers are spoiled for choice day and night, beautiful insects are in abundance, small native marsupials and reptiles are regularly seen, and the waterways are home to a variety of tropical fish as well as the occasional crocodile in the main river. We’re a great base location for exploring the area as we’re only 15 minutes to the town of Gordonvale and less than an hour to Cairns International Airport, the Great Barrier Reef and the Atherton Tablelands. Boaties can take the ten minute drive to Deeral Boat Ramp to launch their vessel and head down the Mulgrave River to Russel Heads and out to the Great Barrier Reef and islands.

Hectic Valley Farm is located at Mutchilba on 100 acres within the beautiful Atherton Tablelands, North Queensland. Spacious campsites are beside or near a massive dam that attracts a great variety of bird life and the amazing sunsets are different each day. 🌅 Three spacious spots are available a few short meters from the edge of a large dam (sites can be seen from the farm road) with another completely secluded site amongst the bushland. Bird watchers dream with the constant residents and seasonal birds flying in for the dam. Swim, kayak, catch and release fish, throw in a RedClaw pot or hunt for mussel clams. Do some hiking or 4 wheel driving around the hundred acres with our 4 wheel driving tracks. Meet the Farm Animals where campers can chat with the menagerie of animals we have on the farm such as Clydesdale horses, camels, sheep, cows, chickens, buffalo, peafowl, ducks and friendly geese. Hold newly hatched poultry, friendly chickens and maybe even lambs. Bookings are essential come by the farmhouse and meet at the gazebo. We are 10mins from Dimbulah or 20mins to Mareeba with their many attractions. We can tell you all about the many attractions and activities this area has to offer. Please Note: Cattle Creek and Waterfront Campsites are accessible by 2WD. The other campsites are 4WD access only and with off road campers/caravans only (high clearance to get through a dry creek crossing). These are self contained sites so please take your own shower and toilet facilities and take away all waste. Well behaved dogs are allowed but must be supervised at all times for the protection of the sheep, poultry, wildlife and not to be brought to the house yard. Sorry no motorbikes or ATV’s. Guests are required to be fully self-contained with their own toilet facilities and must take waste with them on departure or there is a public toilet located just a couple of km's away.

Flaggy Creek Caravan/Camping

Flaggy Creek Caravan Camp is set on a private 260 acre rural property at the end of an unsealed road surrounded by the peace and serenity of state forest. A highlight is a beautiful permanent creek which meanders its way through the property for approximately 1 km and is habitat to platypus, turtles, an abundance of bird life and towering blue and rose gums. Take a dip on a hot day in one of several water holes including a large lagoon adjacent a mini waterfall surrounded by beautiful she-oaks. We have 5 available campsites, spread well apart, all with amazing views. 4 are close to or on the banks of Flaggy Creek. Bluff View campsite (a favourite spot of ours) is set in a large grassy field near an iron bark tree, 150m via a mowed track to the creek. Maximum occupancy per campsite is 2 guests (of any age). All camp sites have their own fire pit (season permitting). We sell large crates of split firewood for $20 or you can collect your own from the property. If you are traveling with friends and everyone wants to book a site with us we would be delighted to host you but please ensure that you set up your caravan/tent/swag individually at each site noting the maximum occupancy of 2 guests per site.
