The 20-acre dam is full at the moment (Febuary '26 ) . Great for kyaking or SUP. Still has some weed for the birds!
On arrival, powered sites, please phone our on-site caretaker Dylan 0488 611 706, and he can assist you to find a spot that suits you and your group. Unpowered sites can choose anywhere suitable for them.
We do have internet reception. Occasionally reception can be weak depending on what the network is doing. Generally, it is not a problem.
Bring Mosquito/sandfly spray especially if camping by the lake.
Campfires allowed. Wood for sale, $15 cash per milk crate, from camp kitchen. Please be honest and place cash in the "Honesty Box" and return crates for refilling.

Fuel is available at Caltex Calcium, 13 km towards Charters Towers. Donnington can be used for an overnight stay or base yourself here for a few days and radiate outwards to Townsville, Charters Towers, Ravenswood or the Burdekin.

Our property on Magnetic Island in beautiful Picnic Bay is a stunning, flat, block of land, located just 400m from the beaches, restaurants and hotel. The block is private and secluded, with NO amenities, but just metres from everything!
The Golf course is located right behind us and a bus stop is within 50m walk, that will take you all around the island.
There are several glorious camp spots shaded by mature paperbark trees, overlooking Butler's Creek, which often runs during the wet season.
The block is large and flat, perfectly suitable for campervans, tents, caravans and large motorhomes.
There is a water available onsite for campers' use. You are able to fill your tank but are asked not to 'connect up', as it is for the use of ALL guests.
To stay with us, you MUST be FULLY SELF-CONTAINED with your own toilet/shower facilities and power.
Please leave no waste on the property and NO trace of your stay.
The property is located in a wildlife corridor and we have koalas, kookaburras, curlews, wallabies and other animal residents nearby.
Your dog is welcome onsite but must be on a leash at all times so as not to disturb guests or upset our wildlife. Please pick up it's waste at all times.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If your dog disrupts other guests or neighbours by barking, or is threatening in anyway, you will be asked to leave the property without refund.
Magnetic Island is located 8km offshore from Townsville and is accessed via a passenger ferry that operates every hour from the city and a vehicle barge that operates several times a day. Book via the 'Sealink' website.
"Maggie" as the island is affectionately known, has a permanent population of about 3000 people. There are a two supermarkets, a medical centre, several resorts, dozens of restaurants and many other amenities to cater for residents and tourists.
There are spectacular beaches, bush walks, koala spotting, boat tours, reef dive operators, art galleries, homeware shops, restaurants, coffee shops, a brewery, pubs and a bus stop nearby.

In the small rural town of Millaroo, you will find nestled around sugar cane, horses & a small herd of quiet cattle, a laid back bush camp in a paddock by two dams on the bank of Millaroo Creek.
Here you can bird watch, take leisurely walks down to the creek, enjoy a spot of fresh water fishing/red-clawing, launch the kayak where you may spot the odd fresh water crocodile or sit and relax in tranquility on the creek bank. During harvesting season you may visit regular cane fires in the local area, and may be even lucky enough to catch the burn straight across from the campground! On your way, pull into Cornfords Lookout for a great view of the Burdekin River. The local Millaroo Social Club is a short ten minute drive, where meals are served most Friday nights. The Burdekin river is also a short drive away where you can access the river closer to the township of Millaroo by 4WD for an afternoon barbecue and fish!
Campground offers plenty of fresh water for drinking and filling tanks, does requires campers to be self contained and is pet friendly providing they are supervised at all times.

The airpark is easily accessible from the highway and Townsville is only 40 km away for shopping, restaurants, Magnetic Island trips. Fuel is available at Caltex Calcium, 13 km towards Charters Towers. Donnington can be used for an overnight stay or base yourself here for a few days and radiate outwards to Townsville, Charters Towers, Ravenswood or the Burdekin.

Our property on Magnetic Island in beautiful Picnic Bay is a stunning, flat, block of land, located just 400m from the beaches, restaurants and hotel. The block is private and secluded, with NO amenities, but just metres from everything!
The Golf course is located right behind us and a bus stop is within 50m walk, that will take you all around the island.
There are several glorious camp spots shaded by mature paperbark trees, overlooking Butler's Creek, which often runs during the wet season.
The block is large and flat, perfectly suitable for campervans, tents, caravans and large motorhomes.
There is a water available onsite for campers' use. You are able to fill your tank but are asked not to 'connect up', as it is for the use of ALL guests.
To stay with us, you MUST be FULLY SELF-CONTAINED with your own toilet/shower facilities and power.
Please leave no waste on the property and NO trace of your stay.
The property is located in a wildlife corridor and we have koalas, kookaburras, curlews, wallabies and other animal residents nearby.
Your dog is welcome onsite but must be on a leash at all times so as not to disturb guests or upset our wildlife. Please pick up it's waste at all times.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If your dog disrupts other guests or neighbours by barking, or is threatening in anyway, you will be asked to leave the property without refund.
Magnetic Island is located 8km offshore from Townsville and is accessed via a passenger ferry that operates every hour from the city and a vehicle barge that operates several times a day. Book via the 'Sealink' website.
"Maggie" as the island is affectionately known, has a permanent population of about 3000 people. There are a two supermarkets, a medical centre, several resorts, dozens of restaurants and many other amenities to cater for residents and tourists.
There are spectacular beaches, bush walks, koala spotting, boat tours, reef dive operators, art galleries, homeware shops, restaurants, coffee shops, a brewery, pubs and a bus stop nearby.
Whilst here, be sure to feed the wild rock wallabies in Arcadia, go to the Toad Races at Arcadia Hotel, enjoy the Forts Walk to learn about the region's history, and take a boat tour on Aquascene cruises.

Such a beautiful spot! Walking distance to Horse Shoe Bay - plenty of restaurants to choose from! Walking distance to The Forts walk- we saw lots of Koalas in the trees. We walked to Arcadia which was a beautiful walk, but there are bus stops just up and down the road! Tee & Stevie were amazing hosts- giving us great recommendations on what to do on the island & restaurants! Site was well set up - nice & level as we were in a roof top tent! Bush shower was great and heaps of wildlife! We will definitely return in the dry season!

My absolute go-to spot when passing through Townsville, always a lovely stay! Even after all the recent rain and mud, the amenities were spotless. The hosts are fantastic as ever.
A quick note to fellow campers: tiny things like bottle caps or yogurt lids on the ground add up fast. Same with food scraps, they attract unwanted critters. Let's all Leave Every Place Better than we found it. Spot any trash? Pick it up and pack it out, it keeps these special spots available for everyone!
