Great spot with all the trimmings

Excellent camping! My partner and I camped with our camper trailer on this lovely spot with easy access to Horseshoe Bay, a great bathroom and power and water. There’s a wonderful fire pit and Matt is a responsive and helpful host. Highly recommend.

Wir haben als vierköpfige Familie (Kinder 8/11) einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt bei Matty in seinem Bush Retrate erlebt. Die Lage ist perfekt. Ruhig und abgeschieden und trotzdem ist man in 15min zu Fuss bei der Bushaltestelle. Die Feuerstelle haben wir jeden Abend benutzt und die Dusche/WC sind ebenfalls top.
Die Kommunikation mit Matty war hervorragend. Gerne empfehlen wir die Location weiter.

The best Hipcamp we have stayed at so far! Has everything you would need - picnic table, bathroom with hot shower and toiletries, fire pit and wood, power, flat ground, privacy and a great host just to name a few. We felt very welcome and was an easy spot with our dog. Matt was great company and provided some great recommendations to explore on the island. Was also lucky enough to spot some native wildlife, including wallabies, pink galahs and a koala. Can’t wait for our next visit.

Camping at Matt's was nothing short of amazing! Lots of space to ourselves, waking up in the morning to the sounds of all the different birds, a Koala down the street, watching the birds eat the bird seed Matt throws to them and such an amazing shower/toilet set up! Would recommend to anyone and will definitely be returning.

Perfect for a night or a month. All you need. Shower is a bonus to wash off the salt water. When Matthew is not around, his dad Wayne is a marvelous host. Really missed the camp fire due to fire restrictions. Lots of natural bush life. Would definitely go back

The site was really nice, and really good emplacement. Matty is such a nice person he helped us to find spot to swim, koalas and shared so much with us about the island !!
We were 3 and we loved the vibe because all facilities are outdoors which is perfect for the weather. We really love our stay and would definitely recommend it to anyone!

I can see why Matt has 100% reviews. Quirky little set up but gorgeous. (Definitely the best shower weve had on our trip too)
The campsite was a bit more ‘exposed’ than I initially thought but it was on a quiet road and everyone was super friendly, so my first judgment was quickly put to rest as I felt we had plenty of privacy. Matt had solid recommendations for us to spend our day, and areas to explore. Definitely felt like we saw the hidden gems. For any solo female travelers-I felt save enough to walk into town and back on Saturday night, definitely enough street lighting and plenty of wildlife. I think we were only the second group not to see a koala, (but saw two on the Forts Walk) loved the bird love and hospitality. Keep up the great work Matt 🥰❤️

A truly magical place- lots of space, nice and clean bathroom, the loveliest hosts and magnetic islands wildlife directly in front of your doorstep! Would definetely go back!

Cozy campground with friendly host! Has a cozy bathroom with hot shower and toilet. There’s a fire pit. In the evening there’s wallaby and koala to be spotted at the campground.

We had a great time. You will definitely see a lot of wallabies and birds around. We even saw a koala mum with her joey just around the corner. Make sure you check out the Forts hike and the butterfly forest. Thank you, Matt, for the chance to stay here!

Really enjoyed our stay here. Very centrally located on the island. Got some great recommendations from the host. Amenities were more than what we expected. Hot shower, bathroom & washing facilities! Job well done. If we do come back to Magnetic we know where we are staying!

Perfect spot to act as a base while exploring the island during the day. Waking up to all the birdlife was always incredible. Bathroom setup is great with the most luxurious camp site shower ever. Matt’s a great host - super friendly and helpful. I’ll definitely be back!

Matt and Becks are real easy going people and they will make you feel like the site is your own backyard on Magnetic Island for a couple days. A quintessential FNQ experience. We saw wallabies before we had even pulled up AND a koala while we were enjoying the fire pit. There are cockatoos and galahs hanging around in the morning, but I had the misso with me so I didn't need to see anymore galahs.
We were the only campers which I think is probably most often the case, I wouldn't imagine you would be sharing with any more than one other camper setup. Amenities are clean and tidy, no cooking facilities so you will need to be setup for that or dine out at what seemed to be quite a few options even within Horseshoe Bay.

Camping at Matthews land was amazing. It is not only a beautiful place but also has amazing amenities as shower, laundry and a nice and clean bathroom.
But definitely, the best part of staying there was matts kindness and amability. He was always willing to help us, showing us around the island or simply sharing a nice chat.
Would definitely repeat my experience

This is THE spot! Matthew was a great host! Spot is flat, and the bathroom/shower is incredible!
Place is quiet and peaceful. The gorgeous birds that come visit in the morning are an added bonus!
