Our 10-acre undeveloped property (apart from toilet and shower facilities) is just a short walk from stunning Horseshoe Bay with its charming shops, cafés, and restaurants. Whether you're in the mood for fresh seafood, casual dining, or a cozy café, you'll find plenty of options to choose from.
If you have access to transport—or choose to take the convenient bus that stops at the end of our street—Alma, Nelly, and Picnic Bay offer even more opportunities for great food, swimming, snorkeling, hiking, watersports, shopping, and more.
Nestled privately among pandanus stands and tall native eucalypts, our sites offer the perfect blend of natural beauty and convenience. Wake up to the soothing sounds of nature and enjoy abundant wildlife all around you.
The land is perfect for both relaxation and adventure, providing individual privacy as well as access to marked bush trails, the lagoon boardwalk, and the stunning sandy stretch of Horseshoe Bay beach.
Our campsite features well-maintained facilities, including an environmentally friendly green toilet and an outdoor shower stall where you can watch wildlife wander by as you go about your daily routines. The water is good to drink! Enjoy relaxing under the stars and embrace the laid-back island vibe of "Maggie."
To access Blue Tiger drive west along Gifford St until you see Parker St on your left. Proceed another approximately 200 m until you are opposite Pirie St to your left. On the right you will see the entrance to number 105 with a Blue Tiger butterfly sign pinned to a tree. Turn right and drive straight down along the property boundary line. Towards the bottom of the property near the tree line turn left and you will see the toilet and shower block amongst the bushes ahead of you. You can choose to camp anywhere you like in the shade of the trees or in more open sunny space.
Please bring your own firewood, or purchase locally at Mitre 10 in Nelly Bay, if you wish to light a fire. Be cautious on windy days and water is available at the shower block to douse before bedtime.

There are six sites on the property. All lie nestled along the tree line and amongst the bushes giving privacy and a sense of space and tranquility. Choose your preferred spot on arrival - first in best dressed. The outdoor toilet and shower block is a short walk from any of the camping areas as is the communal fire pit.
Nestled just a short distance from Horseshoe Bay, this campsite offers a peaceful retreat with plenty of open space and a sense of seclusion despite its close proximity to island attractions. Campers appreciate the abundant wildlife, including wallabies and diverse bird species, which adds to the natural charm of the area. While the amenities are basic, with cold showers and clean toilets, they are well-maintained and meet the needs of visitors seeking a rustic experience. Some guests mention the dry conditions bringing dust into their caravans, and the cost can be on the higher side, especially with ferry fees, but overall, the location and serene environment make it a favored choice for many.
We enjoyed our stay. It was a little confusing to find the numbered sites as advised in the booking brief (we actually never found a single number nor post). The shower was spot on and toilet was exactly as described. I’d definitely stay again.
Was a great camping spot, not too expensive. Although the curlews were so noisy at night and I’m not used to that it was still honestly the best place. Was nice and calm and quiet without the curlews 😂 the shower has no hot water but didn’t mind either way because it was always the perfect temperature even was having 2 showers a day. Would absolutely stay again when we come for our next holiday. Would highly recommend. 🙂
Spacious open camping area just a few streets back from Horseshoe bay. Great location fir exploring the island. Loved the bush shower, so refreshing after a hot day hiking the island's trails. A variety of birdlife around and spotted a few shy wallabies too❤️
Lovely, quiet spot. An easy bike ride down to Horseshoe Bay. Cold shower, toilet & sink. A great place to stay for a mix of feeling like you are in the bush but close to everything you need.
We spent 5 nights camped @ Blue Tiger; it was very quiet and peaceful. There are loads of native fauna and birds. The wallabies were beautiful.
It is also walking distance to the shops @ Horseshoe Bay.
The limes which were in a basket from the hosts tree were appreciated and added to our dinner & drinks.
It was very dry and a little dusty, but we actually had some rain which settled the dust.
Access to toilet and water was a bonus.
Value for money - it is on the expensive side especially when the ferry trip is so very costly when travelling with a caravan.
We loved the relaxed vice and great location to go odd and explore. Kids had plenty of space to play and loved watching the little wallabies of an evening.
Camping here was quiet with lots of different birds & wallabies . Location was only about 2km walk to Horseshoe Bay & from there you can walk to the beautiful Radical Bay Beach . 🏖️ On the way you will see koalas . The big cold shower was nice after a long walk .
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, nice big block with some vegetation to hide around for privacy. Toilet, sink and shower. All right in Horseshoe Bay. Customer service was impeccable. A huge thanks again, will be coming back in the future
We really enjoyed our stay at Blue Tiger Campsite on Magnetic Island. It was peaceful, quiet and a great place to relax with our kids. We loved that campfires are allowed, making the evenings extra special, and it was great that dogs are welcome too. The location is fantastic, just a short drive to beautiful Horseshoe Bay Beach, with plenty of great cafés and shops nearby. We’d happily stay again and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxed camping experience on Magnetic Island.
There aren't many places on Magnetic Island that cater to both caravans and dogs, so we were pleased to find this one.
With no dump point on the island, having an onsite toilet was a real bonus and made our stay much more convenient. Fiona was a wonderful host—easy to communicate with and she provided a booklet packed with useful local information, which we found very helpful.
The site itself was very dry, so we did end up bringing quite a bit of debri into the van. While it was a little messy, it didn't take away from our enjoyment of exploring the island. We did feel the price was on the higher side, especially considering the conditions, but overall we had a great stay.
Would we stay again? Yes—we would.
Great campground. Wallabies and beautiful birds around. Possible to do a fire in communal pit in days that are not windy.
Host is so kind and gave us great tips.
Would 100% recommend
Beautiful clean spot, enough room at the back of the block where you don’t hear the road. Toilet and shower were clean and spacious. We will definitely stay again!
We enjoyed our stay at Blue Tiger campsite. It is a big bush block, with cold shower and clean drop toilet and plenty of space, and we had it all to ourselves for Easter. Easy drive to everything Maggie has to offer (Forts walk, Arthur Bay, Alma Bay and Horseshoe Bay) and a great starting point for nearby hikes. No fires allowed but lovely spot for star gazing.
Perfect camp ground with good facilities, heaps of wildlife and bushland! Huge amount of space and the owners were great to chat with if you get the chance. Highly recommend 😊😊
