The location, the amenities, the hosts were absolutely amazing. The entire experience was fantastic. Derek and Sabine share their knowledge of the area and have incredible stories. We had black cockatoos, wallabies, curlews, possums and possibly even a koala grunting nearby. Absolutely recommend this site for families. 10/10!
My partner and I had a wonderful 3 nights here. Derek and Sabine were so welcoming and made sure that we had everything we needed. The bathroom facilities exceed every other campsite we’ve ever stayed at. They gave us great advice on sight seeing and which beaches to go to. Our campsite was so peaceful and we were greeted everyday by wallabies, possums and curlews. We loved our little home away from home. We will be back for sure!
Our stay with Derek and Sabine was wonderful. They were the most attentive, kind, generous and helpful hosts. Besides, their land is a very quiet, relaxing spot, and full of animals and nature. Cannot recommend enough.

We came for one night, it was perfect, Derek and his wife are very kind people, they advised us about walks to do in the island. The place is really clean and we even seen wallabies in derek’s garden !!

Peaceful secluded space adjacent bushland with wallabies and curlews. There is a beautiful picnic area which Derek has decked out with fairy lights next to the campsite which was a lovely relaxing area too. The bathroom facilities are top notch and a short walk from where you camp. Derek and Sabine are very personable hosts and ensured our time on their property was enjoyable. Highly recommend.

Had a fantastic time camping at Gorge Creek Bushcamp. Derek was an amazing host and met us upon arrival. Campsite was private and we had the whole place to ourselves for the two nights we were there. Felt safe leaving our stuff at the camp and not closing anything up. The new amenity block Derek’s got built is beautiful offering toilet, shower and laundry + an outside shower if you’d like that. There’s also a communal picnic section with bbq and seating. The site is close to Horseshoe bay and was a perfect spot to get around the island from. At dusk we also got visits from wallabies up close.
An amazing two days on Maggie Island, thank you so much for having us!

Kind host. Lovely camping spot with a peaceful atmosphere and well-maintained facilities. The surroundings were beautiful, and it felt like a perfect place to unwind. Walking up with a bunch of wallabies nearby was a real highlight!
I had a great experience at Gorge Creek. Derek was kind enough to great me as I drove in and give me the tour. He was very friendly and accommodating; even set me up with a nice picnic area to enjoy with lights. This was a last minute stop but one I'm glad I did!
Peaceful and tranquil - lovely shower and host! Definitely a relaxing night on Maggie and only a short drive from horseshoe bay / dining.

Derek was very friendly as soon as we arrived and gave us great tips for exploring the island.
Great area that Derik has set up, communicated very well and we had a great time, thanks for having us
It was an amazing experience. Both Derek and Sabine are kind and gave us very good advice on the island. The place is unique, a confortable and quiet spot sorrounded by a beautiful part of bush were you have a cozy set of a table and some confortable chairs below some beautiful bulblights among the trees, where having your dinner or spending some time is so nice.
Super endroit !!! Derek et sa femme son adorable et de bon conseil pour sur place. Ils sont très accueillant ! Leurs très grand terrain est vraiment agréable, au calme , nature . Il y a des wallabis partout un plaisir à observer chaque jours.
Encore merci pour votre accueil nous avons adoré votre endroit.
We camped at campsite 2. It was quite and out the way. The hosts were very nice and gave us lots of information about the local area. There were also quite a few Wallabies foraging around the area which was nice to see

Lovely campsite - you could see a group of wallabies in the area in the day! Even had an outdoor seating/dining area lit with warm LED lights, made cooking so much easier and so vibey! The outdoor shower was really nice and sufficient for us. Derek and Sabine are also such lovely people, can’t wait for any future exciting upgrades, we will definitely stay here again. Thank you for having us ! xx
Derek's place was perfect for our family of 6 in a 7.6 meter Maui campervan. He is a super friendly host. About a 30 minute walk from the Horseshoe Bay beach or the koala experience.
Don't miss eating at his family restaurant, Cafe Nourish either. Great for breakfast fare or yummy curry at lunch!
Amazing place, behind the bushes with a very chill and good site, tables and chairs in the middle of the forest and a bbq in the same spot for a really good experience. The shower is really nice with a hot water. The best is Derek, the host, really kind and worried trying to have the best experience and we have it with my partner and parents. Thanks again and I recommend 100% sleep in there.
