We had a lovely time at the Serenity Caravan Park! Late check in was easy as - a handy note left on the office door - and Rob was super friendly and there were lots of lovely little chats with him and other park visitors over the weekend. It was also only a short stroll down to Goody’s on the Beach and the Salty Squid Cafe for coffees and dinner, or to the beachfront across the road. Very well kept spot and beautiful little town 🙂

Weekend Trip to Baffle Creek Camping Midskinrick

Gorgeous spot off the beaten track that gives you that far from civilisation vibe but has access to the creature comforts is you so desire. A serene picturesque location with beautifully maintained grounds that anyone from first timers to seasoned off grinders can enjoy. Absolutely loved our stay and cannot wait for the opportunity to come back. Thank you to our wonderfully hospitable hosts for making our stay so enjoyable!

The Hideaway Heaven was a perfect gateway for us. Garth was a super considerate and welcoming host. His property is beautiful, incredibly peacefulll, well mentained, with 2 beautiful dams, a few short walks and a lot of trees and space for puppies to play. We were literally the only campers there, so it was an added bonus. We thoroughly enjoyed being fully self sufficient and exploring the nearby beaches, botanic gardens etc. Our week long stay was perfect and we truly appreciate the opportunity to have stayed there! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing time off grid, seeking kookaburra wake up calls and amazing starry skies, yet only a short ride away from anything if required.

Had a great spot to setup camp with all the amenities close by. The outdoor shower which is gas heated worked extremely well and had a great view of the garden. We spent a lot of time in the spa which worked well and was always hot and ready to go.

This is a paradise, it was the perfect place to rest up for the night. The site was large and easy to maneuver with our van, being close to the bay and river gave us plenty to explore. The facilities were prestine, excellent maintained and well equipt! Safe we're friendly, helpful and very accommodating of our needs. We would stay again in a heart beat and would recommend everyone stay here!

This is a great Hipcamp, close to the beach and 4X4 track through Deepwater National Park. Beautiful well maintained grounds they are also improving, and a hot shower and toilet was a huge bonus.. lifesaver. I loved the small lake and would camp here again when up this way. I also left a light behind and they are kindly posting this back to me. Above and beyond.

A really nice camping spot with easy day tripping to Deepwater national park. Nice little kitchen area and clean toilet. Pool was a bonus and the kids loved the animals and the chance to "help" out. Sarah was super responsive and always available to help out. Highly recommended and would revisit.

Great property to stay on with plenty of room. Brice and Beatrice were very welcoming and let us know of local events as well as where we could launch our boat. We enjoyed our stay, it was quiet, easy to get to and we loved seeing local wildlife as well. Definitely recommend

Midskinrick is a 40-acre waterfront property on Baffle Creek in Queensland. 70km north of Bundaberg, 125km south of Gladstone. This little piece of paradise, on the southern bank of Baffle Creek, is a great place to fish from the bank or launch your boat, crab, swim (in our dam), relax and enjoy the peace while watching the wildlife. Choose the unique modern self-contained Lodge or bring your caravan/camper/rooftop/swag/tent and book a camp site. There are 10 large family sized powered sites with a firepit available for each site (no water connection) situated near the dam. Access to, Hot showers (Small fee applies), Flushing toilets, Washing Machine (Small fee per load) and a Camp kitchen. The powered sites are approximately 400m from the riverbank. Confirming there are no water connections to these sites, please fill your tanks prior to coming, however; fresh water is available for drinking. Select Powered. In addition there are 7 large family sized unpowered sites with a firepit available for each, overlooking the river flats - Septic flushing toilets, Shower room (solar bag not supplied), Drinking water, Camp kitchen area, Firepits - bring your own wood or purchase from the owners (please do not source firewood from the roadside due to animal habitats). Overview

With its golden beaches, cool ocean breezes, and offshore reefs, a Bargara beach holiday affords plenty of outdoor adventures. Head to Kellys Beach to swim, surf, or stand-up paddleboard; watch loggerhead turtles hatching along the beach at Mon Repos Turtle Centre; or tee off at the coastal golf course, then stop at a café along The Esplanade to take in the views. Campers can take their pick of beachside accommodation. Check in to a family-friendly holiday park with powered sites for motorhomes and caravans, seek out a tranquil riverside campground, or get back to nature at a rural Hipcamp.

Where to go

Bundaberg Region

Just a 15-minute drive inland, Bundaberg is home to the famous Bundaberg Rum Distillery and Bundaberg Ginger Beer factory. After sampling the local beverages, enjoy canoeing or fishing along the Burnett River, go birdwatching around the wetlands of Bingera National Park, or explore the bushwalking trails of Elliott River State Forest.

Fraser Coast

South of Bargara, sandy beaches, fishing villages, and national parks tempt travellers to the Fraser Coast. Fraser Island is the star attraction, and there’s great beach camping in the Great Sandy National Park, but you can also set out along the Great Beach Drive (4WD only) from Rainbow Beach or take a whale-watching cruise from Hervey Bay.

Great Barrier Reef

Bargara is the gateway to the southern Great Barrier Reef, where you can snorkel and scuba dive around the islands and coral reefs. Fly out to Lady Elliott Island to snorkel amid manta rays, go whale-watching, or take a glass-bottom boat cruise. Or, for a bush camping experience, cruise to Lady Musgrave Island and pitch your tent at Capricornia Cays National Park.

When to go

The sun is always shining in southeast Queensland, so beach days are enjoyable year-round. Time your visit for November through March to watch loggerhead turtles nesting and hatching along Bargara’s beaches or from August through October to spot whales around Lady Elliot Island. Great Barrier Reef tours are possible year-round, but May to October is peak season.
