Camping by the river was wonderful and being able to launch our kayaks from beside our van made things very easy. Nice place to swim when it gets hot also helped although access a bit of a challenge. One and only downside was the traffic noise in the night seems to travel straight up the river. Enjoyed our stay and we will be back

Little Plain Hall grounds - a small rural hall and grounds celebrating their 100th year in 2023 and adjacent to the Ellenborough River with a number of bush campsites available. (If you are after more than a nice piece of grass and a flushing toilet then this property maybe isn't for you!) All sites are reached via dirt tracks that can be rough and slippery. Sites 1 and 2 are adjacent to each other behind the hall and closest to the toilet and the most accessible-more suited to caravans and those without 4 wheel drives. Sites 3, 4 and 5 are adjacent to each other on the banks of the river. Site 6 is separate from the others on the bank of Little Plain Creek but furthest from the toilet. PLEASE NOTE: Access to the river at sites 3, 4 and 5 - the banks are steep and though we have a narrow track down it is slippery. There is access to the river at other spots on the property. This open grassed area of 6 acres is 5 kms further on from the Ellenborough Falls turnoff. (We are not near Ellenborough village but in Elands- this is a somewhat common error when people look us up.) We are a community-run non-profit facility available to campers. All funds raised are used to improve the grounds and hall. Directions to find us: From the Pacific Highway either from Port Macquarie or Taree: Following the Brown tourist signs to Ellenborough Falls turn off/ continue straight ahead on Glenwarrin Road (don't turn into the falls). You will cross over 2 bridges. After the second bridge we are the next property on the right. Larger rigs are not advised. because of the winding dirt roads to get to our village. Please read the full description before you book. Ta. The land is about 650 metres. It is in a residential street (houses each side). It is a gentle slope down to where the level camp site BUT I do not recommend driving down to the level camping area. even in a 4 wheel drive cars have been stuck and if it's been wet, you will be stuck and I have no way of helping you. It's about 20 steps from the street to the camping area. If you have a car/truck with the camping arrangement on your roof, this site is not for you. Sorry. Level area for camping is about 220m with water and power plus a 8m x 2.5m cabin for hanging out in the day, storage in wet weather. The cabin is about 25 steps further down from the camping. It is a gentle slope to get to. The cabin is not licenced to be slept in overnight but definitely hang out there. The outlook is lovely. The land is just 500 steps from Smiths Lake. The photo of the lake is the spot. It doesn't look that good every afternoon. That was one of those super magic sunsets; but it's often amazing. Town water is on and power is also on. Toilets are a short 3 minutes drive to the Frothy Coffee lake side with BBQ and toilet amenities

We have a small herd of cows, chickens, 1 rooster and a farm cat called Pippa. Eastern grey kangaroos graze in nearby paddocks in the early morning. Birdsong fills the morning air. From the camping area, and many areas on the property, you can see the Comboyne mountain range changing colour throughout the day. Everywhere you look, you can enjoy beautiful views. See 360 degree sunrises, misty mornings, stunning sunsets and the magnificent night sky. Evenings, mornings and nights are peaceful and quiet, although you might hear the lowing of the cows or the rooster staking his territory if you wake at night. Paths are slashed through the paddocks if you want to enjoy a leisurely walk or bike ride around the property. Enjoy a range of fresh produce including an organic range from local shops in Wingham, delicious meat from local butchers, sourdough bread, health foods and great coffee, meals and gifts from popular local cafes and shops, and if our chickens are laying, some fresh eggs. Launch your boat onto the Manning River in Wingham, and explore the National Parks that are within an hours drive, including Ellenborough Falls and cafe. Fall in love with Wingham and the Manning Valley as you explore on day trips to Gloucester, Wauchope, Old Bar, Blackhead and Forster. Please note: We are near the sporting complex, where they race go carts, and near the rifle range, which can generate some noise some days between 9am and 4.30pm.

A short walk takes you to the private jetty - where you can enjoy recreational water sports and fishing!
