There are a few nice spots for camping . The property is just near Jimbo’s Industrial Art Emporium . You may notice a collection of interesting vehicles , machinery and building materials on your way to the gate . Please come in the main gate and contact me when you arrive , I will meet you there . Enter the driveway and park at the front carpark. Walk to the house and meet Les and/or Jade for directions to campsite location. Please make your booking prior to 1pm for same day arrival. The property is 40 acres of beautiful bushland, backing on to the Olney State Forest. Camp on a grassy site overlooking the dam or nestled in amongst the trees. Pets allowed. Keep your dog on leash at your campsite and under supervision at all times. Clean up after your dog. Fire pits provided on each campsite. Do not dismantle fire pits. Campsites have no toilet or shower facilities, and no electrical connection. Please bring your own water. Dry organic firewood for sale $15 for 15kgs Bag on request. Fresh free-range eggs for sale when available. Please respect our home and property and leave the campsite in the good condition you found it. The property is just 7kms from the M1 motorway (take the Morisset exit off the M1) and Morisset just 10kms away with shops and fuel. There is plenty to do in the Morisset area including visiting the pretty Gap Creek Falls in the Watagans National Park or kayaking around beautiful Lake Macquarie, Australia’s largest coastal saltwater lake. There are some great areas for hiking, bike riding, bird watching and more. Set on the western foreshore of Lake Macquarie, which has the bush in its backyard. Find a patch of shade for a picnic in Lake Macquarie State Conservation Area where you can spot kangaroos and other wildlife. The saltwater lake is a haven for sea turtles and dolphins and you might see sea eagles and kookaburras, too. Fern Gully is just 1.5 hours drive from Sydney! We look forward to meeting you.

Stayed at the Hives and it was lovely; spot on top of a ridge overlooking the dam. Farm dog Boris is friendly and came to visit us as we set up camp for the night. Owner was very accomodating for our late arrival into camp.

We loved our stay at this campsite on the Hawkesbury River. We brought our two miniature dachshunds and felt it was very safe and dog-friendly. Beautiful natural surrounding with birds, trees, and a peaceful landscape made it a perfect getaway. Would definitely stay again.

Very quiet, peaceful and pretty. The composting toilets are clean and well maintained. There are lots of kangaroos & wallabies about, and an abundance of bird life. It was lovely waking up to birdsong!

My favourite Hipcamp site that we’ve stayed at!! Jim is a legend and very accommodating :) camping spot was great, it drizzled most of the time we were there but the site seems to drain well and it didn’t get boggy/soggy. Composting toilet was very clean and worked well, and Jim topped up our drinking water when we needed. Good distance from other campers and it was lovely to wake up to all the bird sounds. Can’t wait to come back again, thanks Jim!

Large flat sites, each campsite is a decent gap away from the other. Host provided toilets on some sites. Lots of wonderful bird life. Easy to find and easy to setup camp due to flat mowed campsites. Host very nice and great to deal with. We will be back!

Hawkesbury Hideaway was a very peaceful place to stay the night. Even though there were a few other campers there it was very pleasant by the river and everyone was very respectful of all the other campers. I will definitely be back.

We had one night here with extended check out (so two full days) and luckily had the place to ourselves. I accidentally booked a powered site but think we ended up on site #3? (unpowered). It was next to boat ramp and we swam and hung out in shade. The toilet and shower were clean (took a while to find it near trampoline close to the house). Toni was great to deal with online and John gave us a friendly welcome.
