Welcome to Mountainview at Long flat, a picturesque property surrounded by mountains, river flat and the beautiful Hastings river. Our property is located 45 minutes west of Port Macquarie and 20 mins from Wauchope. Located on the edge of the small community of Long Flat. Mountainview offers approximately 15 acres/700mts of riverside van sites which cater only to self-contained vans. Public toilets are within easy walking distance in the local township of Long Flat where you will also find a great pub and general store to resupply (1 km from property entrance). The property features a gated entrance and graveled road for your convenience and safety. We have 13 designated van sites available with plenty of space for privacy. If you are booking with others, please let us know so we can site you together. We are unable to accommodate tent sites. The river is a perfect spot to swim, kayak or fish with plenty of wildlife around to see, river shoes are advised for your comfort. The river can sometimes be swollen and fast flowing. Please watch children at all times. Camping fires are only allowed outside of fire restrictions. Fires must be in a proper container / bucket. Please leave site clear. If you forage for wood please clear site of whats left before leaving This property is pet friendly though we do ask that owners leash and clean up after their fur babies. Dump points are located at Wauchope and Port Macquarie. We ask that all rubbish is taken with you upon leaving. Please be mindful that we do have neighbours and we ask that you be respectful and keep all noise to a minimum after 11pm and before 6am. Please DO NOT cut through our neighbours property to get to and from pub. This is classed as trespassing and you will be ejected from property. We stayed two nights and were lucky to have place to ourselves. The second day was a scorcher after our drive up to gosford tops (we seen a spotted quoll! and a lyrebird) we come back and sat in river all afternoon which was lovely. Heaps of wrens weebills mistletoebirds, kookaburras and a bright blue kingfisher, and a wallaby stunning. The river was beautiful i wore crocs in as rocks on bed of waterway Waterhole is waist deep but water was low when we were there.

We had a great stay for 2 nights at Site 10. Such a beautiful and peaceful spot with a great outlook over the river. Good access for swimming too.. The grounds were so well maintained with no long grass. Easy access to the property via security gate & excellent communication from hosts. Thank you so much for having us. Great open maintained paddock well signed for each campsite and spread out so you have some space between sites. The communication between the host Mel was great. We booked and within minutes received our welcome email and clear instructions how to find the place. The turn off does come up quickly. We booked campsite 10 originally once we got down there there was someone in camp 11 and so we messaged the hosts and we were able to swap to camp 4. From there we couldn’t even see the other group so it felt like we had place to ourselves. Beautiful rocky creek flat then out to water was great to swim in and lots of places to hang out your hammock would definitely recommend staying we were sad we didn’t have time to stay longer.

We loved it there. Lovely big caravan sites giving you lots of space. The site was excellent for a caravan being nice and flat. We loved laying in the river and so did our dog. Plenty of room to go for walks and for our dog to play. We loved knowing you had a locked gate with pin code so you could leave to go to the shop or pub.

Site 4 Such a well maintained campground right next to the river, the sites are spread out well apart from each other. Nice shady trees along the rivers edge and the water was deep enough to get in and cool off. Hosts are awesome and they even had our load of pre ordered firewood delivered to our site before we got there. Will stay again

This was a great spot for a chill. I was after somewhere away from noise and people and this was just the ticket. Spots are roughly 100m apart. There was no-one in the next one so I could only see the roof of a van 200m away. Nice. It is close-ish to the road so you do get a few cars coming past, but wasn't a big deal. Water was lovely for a refreshing dip. One of my favourite Hipcamps so far.

We loved our 2 night stay at Elsewhere. With the whole camp to ourselves on the first night and plenty of space away from our 2nd night neighbours we enjoyed the peace and quiet, swimming in the river and playing with our dog. Unfortunately, no fish were caught but that’s nothing new.

Absolutely Loved it!!! My dog even more. Very cool. Great crystal clear swimming holes, private and heaps of space with fire pit. Heaps of birds and even King parrots. And no leeches so close to water was amazing. Hosts were very friendly and even came and delivered wood for fire. 100% will be going back.

Nice spot. The areas were all well maintained. We were right alongside the river with plenty of trees for cover most of the day. Iolanda and her husband both came to say hello and had a nice chat with us. Look forward to seeing what sites they open up in the future.
