While visiting Dungog, there are boutique cafes and shops, a historic cinema, and a lot more to see as you wander through the streets. Sitting on a 7 acre property in the beautiful Markwell Valley, and only a 7 minute drive from the village of Bulahdelah. (Note : 5kms of sealed road and 2kms of unsealed gravel road from town - suitable for all vehicles.) The van is decorated to reflect the retro 70s style. Several species of wallabies graze around the cabin in the early mornings or late afternoons. Elands is a quiet village with an eclectic community, a Post Office and General store. Our closest town being Wingham is approximately 40 minutes drive the last 16 klms up the mountain is unsealed. It is suitable for all types of vehicles but can be rough at times. The cabin has mobile phone service for those with Telstra or Aldi SIM cards. We have 3 generations of family living on our property and we are only interested in hosting a single female or couple. We have for many years hosted helpers on our farm but now are offering it as a short term stay (2 nights minimum) We are completely off grid and try to live in a simple manner with solar, tank water and an outdoor composting toilet. Our property is located within walking distance of the magnificent Ellenborough Falls and many other beautiful and tranquil places to walk or visit. We are located in the village is Elands located in the mountains west of Port Macquarie. Or Taree (Elevation 600mts) Cool climate rainforest surrounds us and the forest is at our doorstep. If you like hiking or simply being in nature you will fall in love with this secret, wild and beautiful place. Our little patch is a small hobby Chestnut 🌰 farm. We are offering our quaint, artistic and private cabin for short term stays Minimum stay 2 nights. This is a perfect retreat for someone who is perhaps an artist or writer and wants to get away from city life and immerse themselves in nature. There is a cosy fire with wood supplied The winter days on the mountain are spectacular but the nights can get cold so bring warm clothing. The bird life is plentiful with many rare and amazing species either visiting on their annual journeys or calling it home such as the yellow tailed black cockatoo. Several species of wallabies graze around the cabin in the early mornings or late afternoons. Elands is a quiet village with an eclectic community, a Post Office and General store. Our closest town being Wingham is approximately 40 minutes drive the last 16 klms up the mountain is unsealed. It is suitable for all types of vehicles but can be rough at times. The cabin has mobile phone service for those with Telstra or Aldi SIM cards. We have 3 generations of family living on our property and we are only interested in hosting a single female or couple. We have for many years hosted helpers on our farm but now are offering it as a short term stay (2 nights minimum) We are completely off grid and try to live in a simple manner with solar, tank water and an outdoor composting toilet. We are only just starting to rent our cabin out and so far have no reviews but have many 5 star reviews on other platforms such as HelpX Unfortunately we don’t allow pets as we have our own dogs on the property who have grown up with the surrounding wildlife and pose no threat. Cascades Cottage is situated on the Beautiful Bulga Plateau; a mountaintop gateway to national parks and areas of outstanding natural beauty on the Mid North Coast, NSW. The cottage is fully self-contained; 3 bedrooms, a wood fire, and wrap wraparound verandah to take in the view or stare at the night sky. All linen and towels are supplied as well has a fully functioning bathroom for hot showers. Situated on 220 acres of farmland and native forest. Native animals abound on the farm and a short drive brings you to the 160m high Ellenborough Falls. Spend time relaxing, exploring, rehabilitating. Cascades Cottage is named after the beautiful Cascades that have a drop of around 10 meters, at the center of which you can cool down in a natural plunge pool or sit and listen to the water cascade down a 4-meter fall. It is an ideal space on a hot summer day to take a camp chair sit with a glass of wine and rejuvenate in absolute privacy. A stay at Cascades Cottage can be any sort of holiday you like - a romantic getaway, a relaxing and peaceful break, or a fun and action-packed adventure exploring the farm, nearby national parks, the fall, and the rapids which is off the farm about 10 minutes away but a fun and dynamic place where you can swim and explore the natural rock pools that run from the top of a natural stream. Native wildlife make the farm their home. Wallabies, koalas, and platypus can often be seen enjoying the surroundings. Kayak on the dam or spend time on the pier waiting for the platypus to play in the early mornings and late afternoon. A stay at the Cascades will bring you close to nature and give you a wonderful tree change for the duration of your stay. Guests have access to a large freshwater dam and two kayaks are provided for your use (as well as life jackets). Guests can explore the whole property of 220 acres. There are many waterways and rain forest areas as well as fields and paddocks. We are pet friendly. What a beautiful property, beautifully maintained, clean, tidy, very friendly hosts, the donga was very nice and the big verandah was very handy as we had other family members with small children camping with us, this made meal time outside very nice. I would recommend this property to anyone. The fishing was good too.

Our family glamping trip at The Bower Farm Tent was an absolute success—we're already planning our next visit! The genuine hospitality and incredible personal touches made this experience truly unforgettable. The owners' effort was outstanding. Traveling with three kids can be tricky, but they expertly set up the tent for all three girls' comfort. They were incredibly responsive and helpful throughout our entire stay. The real highlight for our horse-mad eldest was the special horse riding lesson organized on-site at the Bower Farm—zero travel time and the thrill of her year! The girls also loved their brilliant, long ride on the family farm tractor. Their generosity shone through in the stunning fresh food pack: delicious farm eggs, a tasty local wine, amazing local sourdough bread, and little treats for the kids. Every item was carefully chosen. Finally, the setting is pure magic. We were lucky to spot kangaroos and mesmerizing fireflies! Nothing beats the hot tub and campfire beneath that incredible starry sky—far from the city lights, the stars are truly breathtaking. Thank you for the perfect blend of comfort, adventure, and kindness. We highly recommend The Bower Farm Tent for a five-star escape!

Graham and Chris are so lovely and very hospitable, little touches such as vases of fresh home grown flowers and herbs make it special! The bucket shower is the best!! We had such a relaxing time! A hidden oasis amongst the trees & wildlife. We had everything we needed. So many little touches that wouldn’t even be expected, but were greatly appreciated- Pete & Margot clearly care about the experience of their guests which is so refreshing & we were very grateful. We will look to stay again, and would recommend to couples or an individual who want to relax and use it as a base to explore some of the fantastic beaches nearby (Seals Rock was a great recommendation from Pete).

We absolutely loved our stay at the treehouse. Sophie was an amazing host and went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable. The accommodation was immaculate and beautifully appointed. We normally camp so it was wonderful to be totally “off-grid” but with the luxury of electricity, hot showers, a flushing toilet, comfy furniture to relax in, and even Starlink - what a rare find! We did almost everything on Sophie’s suggested activities - 4WD’ing, swimming & kayaking along the pristine river, the breathtaking drive out to Ellenborough falls, and we even had a bonfire. The kids loved the flying fox and all the friendly animals - they loved the al pacas, played with the dogs, patted the cows, fed the horses and chooks and collected delicious fresh eggs every morning. The full farmstay experience. We can’t wait to come back again - thanks Sophie!

I went on a trip to Sharon’s beautiful home and was very pleased, unfortunately we had to cut our trip short due to severe weather and needing to return home. The location is perfect for a hiker or nature lover just a few mins from Elands town. It was a beautiful little cabin nestled in nature. Sharon was friendly, flexible and very attentive to any questions or queries. Admittedly we took a wrong turn on the way there and after contacting her for best way to get back on track she was waiting at the front to welcome us. We booked the Cabin in Conjunction with the paddock, in order to accommodate the "Non-campers" in our family. I highly recommend you do the same. It was brilliant to finally have those members join us for a family weekend. There are not many places that can provide this. The cabin was cute and cosy and perfectly adequate for a few days stay. It is located right near the communal camp kitchen. The cabin has it's own kitchen so the camp kitchen for us was a place to come together. Cherie has done a great job with the cabin.
