It's only a 20 min drive from Batemans Bay. If you need supplies you can also travel by boat into Batemans Bay and tie up to many of its wharfs for that different experience.
The iconic Nelligen Pub only a 10-15 min drive away is a local favourite for hearty meals, pizzas and a great range of tap beers, with takeaway available if you prefer to enjoy dinner back at your campfire. Just nearby, Riverside Café is ideal for fresh coffee, breakfast or a casual lunch in a peaceful riverside setting.
The camping area is surrounded by walking tracks and over the Christmas period the renowned Clyde Berry Farm is open where you can pick your own fresh berries or relax on the grounds for a ice-cream.
You will find Shallow Crossing is also just a 10 min drive up the River Road for an exhilarating swim in fresh mountain water.
The traditional water side camp kitchen offers a BBQ and table to eat. Has power and lighting, fresh drinking water, toilet, hot and cold shower and plenty of cover. With a fire pit just outside for toasting of marshmallows this makes for the best camping spot in the region.
Please be mindful this is a camping and caravaning experience, there is for your convenience a flushing toilet (bring own toilet paper).
This site has its own concrete boat ramp making a heaven for all fisho's and skiers. The ramp is totally safe to launch any watercraft. With water onsite you can even flush motors at the end of the day.

We intentionally only have a limited number of campsites on our large property, so that you can enjoy camping in a natural setting away from the crowd.
We have drinking water, flushing accessible toilets and one hot shower in a central location a short walk from the campsites. We have a small campers amenities room with a basic kitchen (i.e. a sink, power, kettle, small fridge, microwave) and dining table and chairs, which is a place to do your dishes or shelter in rainy weather. There are also other outdoor pavilions in the central areas on the property.
Enjoy the forest trails here on the property, which take you on a tour to our peaceful back dam. Or explore further afield - our place links to both the Tathra-Kalaru bike track and the Bournda National Park, where you can access the Tathra Mountain Bike Trail Network, as well as the secluded coves along the Kangarutha Walking Track.
Our property is dog friendly for well-behaved dogs that don't chase wildlife or the horses on our property. No hunting dogs.
Campfires permitted when there are no restrictions. You can gather your own wood, or we can prepare wood for you.
Kangarutha also has a country style cottage (with a tennis court!) available for holiday rental. We also have recently launched a new venue 'The Nursery' at Kangarutha Farm, so consider holding your next event at Kangarutha! Contact us for details.

The camp also sits on the famous Bingi Dreaming Track, a beautiful coastal walk that stretches from Congo Beach to Tuross Head.
Moruya is the closest town, a 15-minute drive away. Sydney is a four-hour drive, and Canberra a two-and-a-half hour drive. Meringo is located on the lands of the Yuin people, to whom we pay our respects.

This is my 16th Hipcamp and this ranks up with one of the better ones I have stayed at. If you are looking for the perfect river / creek side camp with the ameneties if you require them, peaceful sounds of the creek, plenty of birdlife and helpful and organised hosts, then look no further. Located at the bottom of the Clyde Mountain on the way to the coast, there are aonly 2 sites available and I chose the one furthest on the property. It has a fire pit / I paid $15 for a bucket of fire wood and the best of both worlds in front of me regarding the creek. Some rapids to create the soothing sounds of a running creek and also the deepest swimming hole on the property. I think the owner Tom and his brother are going to name the sites, so look out for the one with the waterhole in front. Cost wise totally reasonable given you could have the whole place to yourself for about 50 bucks but if you didnt its only one other site and you cannot see them! No negatives to speak of (just be mindful of the Kings Highway traffic) when you turn in. I will defintitely be back, I got the best night sleep and took my time packing up. I give it 4.5 stars out of 5.

I came down for a solo overnight camp, and for my first time by myself, it was an amazing experience! I felt completely safe by myself. The campsite was amazing, clean amenities provided by the host, some firewood to burn in the evening, the site was kept very clean too. Falling sleep to the sounds of the Clyde River, cows in the distance and my dying campfire was soothing for the soul. I will absolutely be back again soon

Clyde River camp is a beautiful spot. Nice green campsites right on the edge of the river, each with campfire. There's a nice camp kitchen complete with BBQ and Pizza oven. Hot shower and flushing toilet top it off......and just 20min from Batemans Bay. We'll definitely be booking again.

Fantastic spot. Ross was a great host, with fantastic communication.
The property is well looked after, the entry was wide and easy to get into.
The road in is lovely, we had a 22.6 foot caravan which hubby drove the hairpins and windy roads with ease.

Ross and Lisa's campground felt like a sanctuary. Plenty of space between campers for privacy and everyone else camping there is lovely .
Such a relaxing night away, although we wished we had spent an extra night .
Ross was such a gentleman, such warm welcoming and even checked to make sure we were all good and happy with our stay . We had brought our dog for the first time camping too which they were okay with !
He brought us over some firewood for a small fee and it was such good timber ( slow burning )

Absolute beauty of a spot, feels very private with ammenities a short walk away. Facilities were great, very handy for making hot water bottles 🥶 will definitely be coming back in summer! Only thing is the “beach view” is kind of hidden by trees so if you’re after the full beach view maybe book one of the powered sites. Either way absolutely stunning can’t wait to come back!

We stayed at the NRMA Batemans Bay ensuite site and was fantastic.
Ensuite was very clean, the site was level and close distance to the beach.
Park had excellent facilities for the kids and the staff were polite and helpful, the stay was amazing.
